All your points above are correct with the exception of Point C, the motabilty car comes fully taxed, it is also renewed and sent to you direct each year. The only hard part now is choosing the car ! Hope this helps and keep shouting if theres anything else you need to know.

Sorry to hear of your problems. The latest problems you are experincing are maybe to do with a change in company ownership, Alamo in the states have recently been taken over by Enterprise Rent a Car. With Enterprise Rent a Car, the staff there are driven by bonus incentives, i beleive the charges you are relating to are for Excess Protection and or Collision Damage Waiver. Check to see if the price quated is what you payed, sometimes they include EP, CDW etc but the price comes to the same as quoted. If the price quoted is incorrect or even correct, complain to the branch, explain your concerns, if your still not happy escalate the matter to the area manager etc etc. If you need contact details just let me know, hope you get things sorted.

I dont want to hijack this thread, but just a quick thanks for the above info, i wrote to the tax credit office and also telephoned, ive still got the recorded delivery details, so im not to worried just frustrated they can attempt to claim these payments back. I havnt heard anything from them since so ill keep quiet, think they might of been phishing or something. If the problems come back to haunt me ill post a separate thread with the details, thanks for your help again.

Take time to read through the many threads before deciding, you will also get some excellent help from the many knowledgable users. Hope you get things sorted.

I would certanly write to the companies concerned, explain your circunstancies etc, request a payment holiday or offer token payments, at the end of the day you have made the effort to contact them and any offer should be accepted, you could also mention this website ! Hope you get things sorted.

Im pleased to hear your all looking forward to your new motability vehicles, the scheme is great, a little heads up, dont be afraid to ask for little extras, ie, mats, mudflaps and of course a full tank of fuel, the dealer will try and fob you off saying its on motability so he cant do free bit and bobs, ive done it and got the mats and full tank of fuel ! He would rather you be at his dealership then somewhere else, especially during the down town. Also be aware of Kwik Fit, there appointed tyre dealer, ive had dreadfull service off some branches - separate thread to follow shortly.

Sorry to hear of the ongoing problems, unfortunatley i am not upto speed on the DVLA bits and bobs, im sure some one else will come on board with commens. With regard to Philips, i would make a further complaint, this DCA will continue to hound you untill you pay up or so they think. Also make contact with the DVLA again, continue to make your voice heard !

Sorry to hear about your problems, youve mentioned that a couple of motabilty specialists have commented on your concerns, im presuming by there response they are motor dealers, not experienced ones at that. Basically, the car is for the use of the person who gets the benefit, this person can nominate upto 2 drivers and a 3rd with special circumstancies, if your the main driver then the car can be kept with you, you can also carry whoever in the car, it can also be used for you to commute to work etc, but it must be used for the benefit of the disabled person, the person does not have to be with you all the time though, basically its your car but looked after by Motabilty. I would also reccomend Motabilty, just watch out for the dealers the majority are not experienced and offer poor advice.

Thanks for your comments, they certanly have opened a can of worms now, all the paperwork is safe and ive stopped ringing them now, just in case they deny whats been said.

Sorry to hear of your problems, i received a call to day from them stating that i owe money from 2006 ! Extremely strange, this was from a previous relationship and ive got proof that the claim was ended correctly with no payments due to either party. I expressed my concerns. told them i would vigoursly defend this overpayment, i also mentioned this website, the call then went crackly and ended, im not going to ring them, ill just wait and see !

UPDATE - ive received notification that my appeal has stopped, they have stated this is because my overpayments have been reduced and that i will receive details of this change under seprate cover. I have now received notification of the reduction and was amazed to see a reduction of approx £2, yes £2. I have now made a further appeal into this matter.

The Dave channel is a subscription channel on Sky, and not on freeview, bit strange i know ! my friend had this problem recently, he purchased a freesat card from Sky. for a one off payment of £20, to receive this channel. If you search through Google you might be lucky and some whizzkid somewhere might have sussed how you can get round it for free !
