  1. The post office lady wouldnt say which one Saintly1, all she kept saying is 'that cant be right' !. Ah, I thought it was necessary to have a proof of signature as well, not just proof of posting. In which case, I will start saving myself some serious money and just send first class with Proof of Posting. Thank you
  2. I no longer have a debit or credit card and sometimes I want to purchase online or not want to take a lot of cash out. I have heard that there is a prepaid credit card.. The martin Lewis site doesnt appear to have any information regarding these at the moment. Has anyone got one or know anything about them? I would be interested in your opinion of them. Thank you x
  3. I am getting really frustrated with Royal Mail, although I suspect it isnt their fault really. Over the last 3 months, I have sent 27 recorded delivery letters to banks, credit card companies and DCAs... of those 27 .. 19 have, according to the RM web site been delivered. Of those 19.. only 8 have a signature I can download. the 6 that dont appear to have been delivered I am going to make a claim for the postage and the photocopying of new documents. However, I am assuming that as these letters havent been returned to me.. they have in fact been delivered and the companies.. mainly Mercers and Barclaycard are just ignoring them as they know they havent been signed for ! Today I decided to send a letter to HSBC Bank and use the special delivery service at £4.30. Having taken the address for the envelope off the letter heading I was as surprised as the assistant in the post office that when she input the postcode it kept coming up as another banking institution and she had to manually enter it. Fortunately I had the letter from HSBC in my bag so I was able to prove I had the correct address. Is anyone else having these problems please ?
  4. Just bumping so some one more experienced might see this for you. Have you read other posts in the PPI forums  You might find some help there .
  5. subscribing. Do I have this correct.. you have SAR'd the Credit Reference Agencies ?
  6. This is an interesting question, one to which I would also like to know the answer. Subscribing
  7. I must admit, I dont understand why they need to put it there as they already include it in the body of their letter..
  8. Thanks NP.. have subscribed to most of the Lloyds threads, have included yours and Goldlady's and will follow them. I think I am becoming a CAG junkie
  9. NP, your letter from Sechiari, Clark & Mitchell.. on the right hand side there is a box with a telephone number they expect you to call them on.. under that in the same box is your account number.. It might be a good idea to hide it. I almost missed it on mine. Good luck citizenb xx
  10. Aha.. many thanks for this pt2537. Goldlady please accept my apologies for the misinformation and thank you Curlyben for making the letter available. x
  11. Ah, I see, so it looks like another penpal relationship I have entered into.. Thanks Goldlady.
  12. On the XX January 2008 I sent a CCA request + the £1.00 fee to Lloyds TSB Visa. They issued a Default notice on XX January 2008, although there was a few days left of the 12+2 days, I sent out the follow up letter 30 + 2 days. I have proof of receipt for both these letters. Still no CCA, however this letter arrived from Sechiari, Clark & Mitchell arrived this morning. I have sent them this letter (which I believe was created by pt2537 ) APOLOGIES TO CURLY BEN WHOSE LETTER THIS IS Dear Sirs I refer to your letter of 20th February 2008 which was received today. Frankly, I am surprised of the need to advise a firm of solicitors about the terms and conditions surrounding my Consumer Credit Agreement requests (Consumer Credit Act, 1974); dated XX January and XX January 2008 for both of which I have proof of receipt . I can only assume therefore that they failed to inform you of their non compliance. Your client has until 6th March 2008 to comply with a legal request. Should your client persist with threats of legal action as stated in your letter, I will welcome the opportunity for a judge to look at several offences committed by Lloyds TSB under The Consumer Credit Act, 1974, as well as your client’s non-compliance with and total disregard for the law on this occasion. ************************ Although it is a bit late to ask.. have I done the right thing:)
  13. Any document you send proving who you are is likely to have your signature on it, isnt it ?.. ie your driving licence / passport ?
  14. It might be a good idea to start up a new basic bank account elsewhere and have your monies paid into the new account. You can then transfer all your DDs to the new account.
  15. Thank you. I was beginning to wonder if I hadnt done something I should have.
  16. Would someone please advise why none of my threads when posted on, ever come up in 'New Posts'. I have started them all in the relevant 'Bank/company' sections ie "Barclaycard", "Lloyds", etc ? Thank you x
  17. As it was agreed the Mastercard Agreement was an agreement. A letter to BARCLAYCARD on 20th February with an improved offer on the £1.00 token payment OH had been paying. It was received on 21st February. A letter dated 19th February was received from Mercers (Why are all the letters they send out dated the day before the date on the letters I have sent to them?) Contents of the letter on MERCERS headed paper, are; Account No:XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX O/S balance £XX,XXX.XX Payment Due: £ XXX.XX Dear XXXXX You are behind with your payments on your Barclaycard Account. Request for payment Your outstanding balance and the amount you need to pay to bring your account up to date are shown above. We've withdrawn your ability to use your credit card because you have not sent us any payments since our last letter to you. Once we receive your payment, we will review your account status with a view to allowing you to use your card once again. Debt Collection You must make your payment or we'll instruct Mercers Debt Collections Ltd to send you a default notice in accordance with our rights under section 87(i) of the Consumer Credit Act 1974. This action may affect your ability to obtain credit in the future. How to pay There are several ways to pay: Pay by debit card at our website www.barclaycard.co.uk Callus on 0844 822 2003 to make a debit card payment or set up a direct debit. We are open Mon-Fri 8-8. & Sat 9-3 Send a cheque to Barclaycard, Dept PP, Thynne Street, Bolton, BL11 1XX Need help If you are having trouble increasing your payments, please call us. We want to help you through any financial difficulties you may be having. Yours sincerely etc, etc, Now are these plonkers having an identity crisis ?. Why would they instruct Mercers Debt Collections Limited.. they are Mercers... arent they ? Having sent them a payment albeit a reduced payment.. should I just ignore the letter from Barclays aka Mercers until my payment has been acknowledged with the usual .. " it isn't enough, pay more or plague be with you " letter .
