That's good - perhaps ring them this afternoon and ask about payment & if they have a hearing date ?
-
Regarding your income when back at work - the judge would need to see some proof of what those earnings would be. If you are self employed how do you know that you will be able to pick up where you left off and earn the same income? You may have to show accounts etc. What sort of work is it that you do? Doctor's letter is fine Put zero income on the sheet as that's the current situation. We can explain in your statement that your family are currently helping with food and essentials Yes, you should include all your creditors as that is your current financial situation. If you have no income how can you offer a small amount towards the arrears? Are you going to ring Shelter tomorrow?
-
Depends when they can fit you in - I've known people get a hearing on the day the eviction is supposed to take place, a bit nerve racking - if you can possibly do it I would try and pay as soon as you can, but worth asking them I forgot to ask, does your partner work ?
-
I think it may delay you getting a hearing date, but you can ask them when you ring up to confirm they have received your application.
-
Did they say how you would pay the fee if you posted it rather than taking it in ?
-
Hi, your reason for defending eviction is already mentioned in your statement. If you can afford it you should send by Special Delivery rather than Recorded - that way it will be guaranteed to be signed for before 1pm tomorrow. The form you need for fee remission is EX160 - I have affixed it for you. I've also affixed the guidance notes for filling in that form EX160.pdf ex160a_web_1010.pdf

I understand. Let me know when you've put the N244 in and what date your hearing is,
-
You ca ask for more time to move - but you won't need to
-
Hi, no need for bank or mortgage statements for the N244 pack, just the form, budget sheet, statement and copy letter you sent to them with your offer of payment, you could also affix their letter refusing your offer. anything else you can take with you on the day
-
They've had your income and expenditure so why are they wanting it again - idiots! they send these letters to try and make you panic into getting the full arrears together so they might cancel proceedings. Of course sending them the info all takes time and get too close to the eviction date. Ignore it - a judge will see what they are up to no problem
-
So you need to contact Shelter - they are able to assist with housing - please call them on Monday and let me know what they say before we go any further. I know people who work for Shelter so I know what they can do. You must be completely honest with them though..... explain you are to be evicted and what you want to achieve
-
You only need 6 months rent upfront for private rental - we keep trying to tell you that Shelter can assist with finding housing that won't need deposit/advance rent. You must, as a matter of urgency, do something about finding somewhere to live in case you lose in court and frankly that is more likely than not. For goodness sake listen to what people are trying to help you with and do something about finding alternative accommodation - Shelter is your best hope
-
There's no point in putting your future income on the budget sheet as that is not a true reflection of your circumstances at the present time - it's the facts at the date of the hearing that the judge can consider. We can put in your statement that you hope to return to work in the near future and what your earnings will be, but you will have to provide proof of where you work and a doctor's fit note indicating your return to work date.

In every case I've been involved in the people have felt exactly as you are feeling now - it's completely understandable. Keep trying to imagine how you will feel when you walk out of the court after the hearing knowing that your home is safe :) Judges won't take people's homes away when they have the ability to pay - and you can pay.... and your arrears are low compared to a lot of cases I've dealt with - some have had arrears in excess of £10,000 and have successfully defended more than one eviction. It will be ok
-
Yes, that gives you 10 days so you should be ok, Is your partner aware he will have to attend? Did you remember to affix a copy of the letter you sent to Halifax?
-
Waiting till Monday should be OK, most courts close early on Fridays anyway. Make sure you have it all stapled together securely and that you have a copy for yourselves. You could phone the court today and ask how much the court fee is etc. also some courts require you to take an appointment to submit your N244.

Hi - I've affixed an updated statement - please ensure you read it carefully to put the data in where there are XXX's, then read it again before printing to make sure you haven't missed anything. If your partner receives another call from Halifax - might be an idea to answer it - they may be ringing to tell you that following receipt of your letter they are not proceeding with eviction - it does happen occasionally - so worth taking the call before going to the court with your application. Hi, what info do you want me to update the statement with ? The budget sheet is affixed to one of your posts on this thread so you should be able to open it and print it from that
