Whilst working in Kuwait i kept my LloydsTSB account active. Expenses built up as i was running my house in England + one in Kuwait. The first month proved difficult. I skipped depositing money in my account in the belieave that i good make it up. What i did not expect was the BANK profiting. The started by bouncing DD's and charging for them. Small DD's like £7 TV lisence attracted £25 charges. Before i knew where i was i was over my OD limit. Each month i paid in £2500 only for it to be gobbled up by the bank. £456 on their loan (paid) and £230 on their Credit Card (paid). All the rest, DD's and mortgage were kicked back and charges levied. On average £1200 a month in various charges made up by DD's going back, reverse charges from the DD requester, interest etc etc. The bank phoned me in Kuwait and i asked that they cancel all my DD's. They did but allowed each company to reinstate them resulting in more charges. Even though theyknew i was abroad they continued to write to me in an empty house. The refused to email me telling me what they were returning. Eventually i returned home and sorted everything out with all my companies. Brought all accounts up to date but not before 2 defaults on loans were racked up, a house repro started. The result is that i have now sold my house, paid everyone off and tried to claim back the £9000 in charges made. The bank reponse "we did write to you but you did not reply and you knew about the charges cos they are on the back of your statements. No refund!". Never received the letters or statements...i was abroad and they knew it! What to do?
