How thick do you need to be to work for a DCA?

I just sent the "harassment by phone" template letter to Eversheds.

 

(They are a DCA pretending to be a firm of solicitors that have never heard of the Consumer Credit Act, for those who haven't heard of them.)

 

Even did the "Harrasment by Telephone" letter heading in 24 point red font + hilighted the main points of the letter in bold. How much more clear can it be, unless turning up in person naked with the letter?

 

3 days later they reply with...

 

"We refer to the above and confirm receipt of your recent correspondence, the contents of which have been noted. Be advised that it is important that you contact our offices on the above number in order to disccuss your account."

 

Then in bold underneath, "It is important that we recieve your call."

 

How thick do you really, really, need to be to get a job at a DCA?

Seems to me they won't employ worms or bumble bees, so anything resembling a human will suffice.

I think they'd employ amoebas if they could find a way for a single celled organism to wear a call centre headset.

 

Next time I write to Eversheds, I'll use crayons, and no more than 2 syllables per word. Then they might understand at least a few of the points I raise in my letters to them.

then on phobucket click the img link under the photo

and it copies the link.

then when you reply to a thread click "paste"

and it will copy the link to the pic on your photobucket

I learnt a lot on here, so is only fair I try and help too.

So many times I see a post where someone needs help

and no replys after 6 hours.

 

When you're scared and intimidated with a DCA threat

of court action, you'd be checking every half hour. (I was)

So the sooner someone replies the better, even if it's

just a message of support and reassurance that someone

with the knowledge you need will be along soon to help.

 

And if sometimes someone posts something that makes you

smile and realise life's not so bad after all, then all the better.

 

I got a job offer today after almost a year of being unemployed.

I had 8 DCA's hassling me and 5 hassling my girlfriend. So my first weeks wages will be donated to the CAG for all the help everyone here has given me and my girlfriend over the last 12 months.

Indeed FB of the two green blobby things:D. Many more to come I am sure. It is wonderful to get out of your own absolutely cr*p situation as I did with CAG's help (18 months ago I was about to go bankrupt) and then even more wonderful to have gained enough knowledge to help others in similar situations.

Not sure what reality is to be honest.

it's deffo not reality tv, media crap,and news at ten lol. But to have a laugh on here and to make new friends who we'll probably never meet in person, It's nothing but good. Decent people fighting back as a group, and one day we will make a difference. I know we will. We're bigger and better than they wil ever be. Why? We're their customers and now they're realising we have a voice and are not afraid to speak out. The banks and DCA's are now running scared and the more who know about CAG the better. The revolution is coming, and fast, and they know it. They're scared (passes around the spare underwear). And I love it. As wolfie Smith said in the 70's "Power to the people." and 30 years later it's finally happening. :D :D

I've had loads of positive comments by people reading this thread when it was in the Debt section. Most people who come on here are scared and depressed, and when they stumble on the occasional slightly off topic thread that makes them laugh or smile, then it makes them realise that it's not so bad after all, as they can see others here making light of a bad situation and playing the DCA's at their own games.

I have to agree that mentioning dca's by name could cause problems, and some posts were removed because of this. But the Bear Garden is in the Bank charges section of the forum and as a result, doesn't seem to get read by many in the debt forums.

 

Any chance we could have a section for off topic posts in the Debt forums? Then us evil debtors can post all things to give the peeps in the Debt section a bit of fun too.
