  1. Hi All, I was living in Dubai for 8 years lost my job didn't get paid by them etc.. so i had to leave as i couldn't find another job. That was a year ago, since then i have received a couple of letters form IDR about my outstanding debts out there , 4 different banks totalling around 250 AED. I've replied to them by email explaining that i am unemployed on universal credit, no assets at all etc. I didn't tell them i am just starting a small buisness online. There reply was we will give you 30 days before they start with their collections. Any advice from anybody please who knows about what they can do like CCJs or min payments. would it be best just to go bankrupt and tell them that. Thanks very much.
  2. Hi Left UAE 2013 with a loan (lost job was advised to leave country by company, I’m back in the UK) CWD made contact in 2014, and 2016, I denied the debt and evidence that I was in contact with the bank. then nothing. Then last week IDRWW text me (?) and letter saying they got my details from the banks portfolio and can I make contact. Do I ignore? I have evidence of my contact with the bank - there is/was an ongoing complaint and they have not tried to resolve it either way. I’m anxious about this now Any actual outcomes? I searched London gazette and only 1 person from CWD was made bankrupt that I can find and that was a while back. I just bought a house less than 1 year ago and have no equity (help to buy) Reassurance or actual outcomes are needed if anyone has any please? Ta
  3. Hi All, Some great threads on here and thanks for sharing your thoughts. I have also also received a PAP from Moriarty regarding ADCB, and after filtering though hundreds on replies on here (Moriarty, CWD, IDRWW etc), i have not come across one example of UAE debt being enforced the UK. Some members have indicated that they have been enforced. However, when asked to share details they go silent or avert the question. Any thoughts on this?
  4. Please can you can help. Today I had a letter from IDRWW regarding a debt from 2009 to HSBC Middle East. I took loan out to pay a debt, lost my job, had to leave the region due to visa rules, was unemployed & had long period of instability. I had given my parents address when taking out the loan and have had zero communication regarding this debt since 2009. It's a relatively small sum of money (£2700) but i'm self employed on a low income so can only afford very small repayments at moment... I'm very anxious about how best to deal with it as I fear it will escalate into a bigger problem. I fear they won't accept my small repayments - and could dump load of extra penalties on me that would make it unmanageable. In principle i'd be happy to pay something as I prefer to clear my debts ....what is the precedent for dealing with this? Thanks in advance for your time reading this.
