  1. Ok thanks, and then just go into my account with no letter/notice?
  2. Does anybody have the correct name and contact number? Thanks

  4. I am at the stage where I filed a claim through mcol, Barclays have acknowledged it and have 28 days to do something basically! Am I right in thinking that they will file a defence at the very last minute giving them another 28 days, then within that time (most likely towards the end of that timeframe) they will settle out of court. This is my understanding at the moment, I am right??!!!
  5. I submitted my mcol to Barclays about 10 days ago, then I watched that fab programme Whistleblower on Wednesday, and was thinking of emailing/ringing barclays and just mentioning it to see if they will settle due to the embarrassment it must have caused etc. Has anyone used the Whistleblower to help their case with Barclays?
  6. Hi Glenny boy, they are most definitely a debt collection agency, as they are chasing me for a debt I owe barclays (funnily enough I am also reclaiming charges from barclays - enough to wipe out the entire debt!!) RMA phone me constantly on my mobile and as I am in work I cannot answer it, they then phone my house phone a couple of times a day, and my mother who is 65 and has a broken hip has to answer it. I rang them back on monday and spoke to the rudest person I have ever come across!! He spoke to me like I was a piece of dirt, wouldn't get it into his head that I couldn't physically afford to pay anymore a month than I am paying now, and then wanted me to account for every single penny I spend. When I asked what is name was he said "whats that got to do with anything"!!! Can you believe it. These companies are dreadful and the constant phone calls are depressing.
  7. Ooh lovely, can't wait!!! I'll be rich!! Thanks
  8. Hi there, thats fantastic. I submited my claim to nationwide via mcol about 10 days ago, are you saying that they state they are going to defend the claim (which they have done with me) and then 20 - 25 days later the money is in your account??!!! It seems too easy, after the 'no get lost' letters I have received!!!
  9. Yep thats great, thanks for your help, I submitted using mse's interest charge from when I originally started my claim!!! i know i'm lazy!! The interest isn't going to go up that much so i think I'll just stick with what i've asked for. Will send two copies to court now, and 1 to Barclays when I receive their acknowledgement? Cheers!
  10. Thanks Tori, what i'm confused about tho is because I have submitted my claim using mcol plus I gave a figure for interest at the same time using my original moneysavingexpert schedule of charges, will it matter that my claim is going to change if I submit these new interest spreadsheets? Not sure if that makes sense!! Thanks
  11. Thanks Tori, so you mean I can use and update this spreadsheet even though I have submitted my claim with a specific amount of interest? Also do I need to send the court and the bank the schedule of charges now even though they haven't asked for them? Sorry to be a pain but i've never done this before!!! Thanks for your help Poppy
  12. Hi there, thanks for your responses, I used the spreadsheet on moneysavingexpert.com, which ones are you talking about? Think I'd be better off using the same ones as you!! Thanks Poppy
  13. Thanks for your help, maybe I'll have my money soon then!!
  14. Hi there, just joined! I too was wondering about that. I have submitted my claim via mcol, giving them total of charges plus interest as I have added it to my claim since the beginning, I have has an acknowledgement of service and Barclays have 28 days to file a defence. However the whole process is longer than I thought it would be, and they owe me more interest now! Yay!!! Was just about to photocopy my schedule of charges so I could send them to court and Barclays, but then I read this!!! Can I redo the charges speadsheet so that the interest is up to today's date? Hope this makes sense! Thanks
  15. Hi there, great informative thread!! Could someone please give me some advice? I have been through the process of claiming my charges back from nationwide, I am now at the court stage. I submitted a claim through mcol for £4K!!!, and received an Acknowledgement of Service today dated 14th March, stating that nw intend to defend the claim, and they now have 28 days from the date of service of the claim form to file a defence - does this mean 28 days from the 14th March? Plus what happens now do I just sit tight and wait?!!! Thanks This site is great and will definitely donate when I win!!!!!
  16. Hi Dan, you should write to: Barclays Bank Barclays Data Protection Radbroke Hall Knutsford Cheshire WA16 9EU. The template letters for such requests are all on this site. Good Luck!
  17. Thanks mumofthreeboys that is just what I needed, your a star!
  18. Thanks lori, I received an acknowledgement today, I believe they have 28 days to respond one way or the other, so we'll see, hope they do the same as your case and realise they're fighting a losing battle and just settle!! Well done on getting your money back - have fun spending it!!
  19. I submitted my claim using mcol over the weekend, can somebody give me an idiots guide as to what I can expect to happen next?!!! Should I have received confirmation of my claim in the post? They have debited the £120 fee from my account. I was going along fine up until now but now feel out of my depth!! Help!!!
  20. Hi there, I submitted my court claim online over the weekend, which thanks to this site wasn't half as difficult as I thought it was going to be!! Anyway it is now wednesday, and I haven't had a confirmation letter or email, and was just wondering was this standard? They have debited the £120 fee from my account, can anyone tell me what I can expect to happen next? Thanks
  21. I am in the process of completing the money claim online form, and at the end its asking me how much I am claiming, does this include interest? Help anyone!!!
  22. But my overdraft was authorised, it was set as £1500, I now owe them £1300. Though my account is now closed, so what does this mean for me?
  23. The big deal is that I want my money!!! I wouldn't have been so overdrawn and forced into a state of no return if they didn't keep whacking on charge after charge!! My account is closed with Barclays, has been for some time and I make monthly payments towards the outstanding overdraft amount I owe. However, they are not adding interest and other debts I have are, therefore I would like to pay them off first. I am also not happy with the amount they have offered although I know they are willing to negotiate with me on this, but they won't budge on sending me a cheque, and I just wanted to know where I stood.
  24. Ok, think I will just get on with the claim form, I've given them enough time and chances!! Thanks for your help
