  1. MTM, you have it all sussed out ....lol St Albans is good for me as you say and Borehamwood is even nearer 5 minutes in the car. But you have to think of everyone coming from places like Kent, Surrey.....etc etc, Ds
  2. After all this deliberating we still do not have a definate time & venue!! 10 days to go..... and !!.... we will planning next summers event before long. Can someone please enlighten us. Thankyou DS
  3. We are right behind you! if you need anything just ask!! if we can help we will. I am sure you will do just fine and I am sure that someone with some expert knowledge will help you. Perhaps it would be a good idea to look on the MBNA threads as there may well be infomation that has already been gathered by other peeps on MBNA, also in the library on the DATA PROTECTION ACTS. MBNA, are as you say a law unto themselves and one day they will be punished for they way in which they deal with us the consumers. DS
  4. Yes you did miss me when I posted, but I truely understand you cannot answer everyone. I happened to like the Avitar and even if I wanted to I probably cannot remember how to change it. Anyway everyone recognises it! All the best DS
  5. MTM, No congestion charging on Saturday. I will be driving into Central London if possible as I do not feel safe at night on Public Transport, especially getting back to home. Depending on where we are going there should be places to park. Ds
  6. Will the lights in Oxford Street be switched on by 24th November, does anyone know. By the way, the pub behind Liberties should be a good venue and location so that Caro can go to Liberties and all the other nice shops in Regent Stret, but if SG finds anything else... we can always have a re think. I feel we are getting somewhere! DS
  7. SG, I work up in St Pauls area in Ludgate Hill on a Friday, what about Paternoister SQuare which is very trendy but again I do not know what it is like at the weekends and weather their is any cheap eateries arround. If it were to be a Clapham.... I certainly would not consider it... sorry. DS
  8. Thanks SG, we will wait for your advices. If you are looking at Oxford Street there is also a very nice pub in Market Street and also some of the roads off of Gt Portland Street and Market Place and their are also some eateries arround there also. DS
  9. So now have we decided where in Covent Gardens we are meeting and at what time. Late afternoon or early evening suits me! Decision time folks.... Ds
  10. I did say this earlier on that it was terribly expensive to stay in central London. There is an alternative, to stay at a Holiday Inn express somewhere in the suberbs like NW London and then get the underground into Central London to meet at Covent Garden. I did see that Kings X was cheaper but it all looked like dives. Ds
  11. I have been looking at hotels for you and many are fully booked already. Here is a link London Hotels by Location @ London Discount Hotel - London hotels at discount prices. Jurys Great Russell Street Hotel, London, WC1B 3NN @ London Discount Hotel - London hotels at discount prices. I checked out Jury's - Great Russel Street and that is £126 for a single. There is also a Holiday Inn but that is Webeck Street and not so close to Covent Garden. The Strand Palace is also not to far away either. The Travel Lodge seems it is fully booked. May I suggest that you book ASAP as rooms are going very quickly. DS
  12. Lyn There are many of us in the same position and I for one had the identical letter to you. Having taken advice from Zootscoot, one of the moderators on thid site it really does not look like we would get anywhere with a claim unless it can be proven that as a result of this breach you actually suffered a financial loss. The only option it seems that is open to all of us is to complain bitterly to the ICO. Loans.co.uk are part of MBNA for starters and are part of an extremely large organisation. They have already been fined for mis selling of PPI, so the ICO should take seriously all of our complaints. If anyone has any suggestions to combat this, please speak up! Ds
  13. Hi Tide Here is the link, might we see you there! Xmas meet in London - **Sat 24th November** DS
  14. Thanks Midge, I could not find it online - How did you find it!! DSxx
  15. Did you read the Daily Mail today (MONEY MAIL) the did a piece on Hardship cases and said that the banks are in breach of the waiver and that anyone concerned should complain to the FOS. Not sure exactly what they will do but it is worth a try! DS
  16. Hi Tide, You are the star here, taking on the big bad Banks. I want to wish you all the best for Friday and hope that you go and get emmmm 100% you deserve to win. Looking forward to the book that you will write when this is all over as I am sure you will have some great stories to tell. DSxx
  17. We seem to be going round in circles, nothing definate yet agreed! Someone, please make the decision finally then everyone can decide if they are coming or not as the case may be. MTM, are you definately coming..... Dsxx
  18. From reading all of the threads it seems that there are more of you coming up from Kent areas, so I think to be fair Central London would be best, especially if everyone is going home afterwards and they have to get connections however if you are intending on finding a room to sleep overnight Central London can be rather expensive. I am OK with Central London, but I must say I do not know of any particular bars which would be acceptable to meet at. Also, you should be aware that Covent gardens is also not particulary cheap. We should pick on on the list finding a meeting point where we can start Covent Garden London Pubs Bars and Cafes and a time. As peeps have to get connection to go home etc an earlier start say at 5pm or 6 pm. If we did decide to choose somwhere like Stevenage / St Albans etc, accomadation would definately be cheaper than in Central London. MTM you are doing a fantastic job with the timetables, do you work for National Rail etc....(LOL) So is everybody coming who has been posting on this thread. Once we have chosen the venue to meet then it can be circulated to the site. Ds
  19. Hows Bristol a London Meet, beats me. (LOL) Hope it does not get rained off like the summer picnic at Kenwood. DS
  20. Ok, everone so where is the meet.... Stevenage or London!! Dsxx
  21. Many congratulations on your lift of stay and finally being paid out by Abbey that is great progress. I wish however that I could say the same. my case for a lift of stay on hardship grounds on my hearing this week I was told bt the DJ that all these hearings are being transferred to a London Court and will be heard by a Circuit Judge. Abbey sent a Barrister along to my no hearing... After the no hearing the Barrister gave to me a Judgement handed out by a Circuit Judge, regarding 4 hardship cases and all 4 cases did not get their their stays lifted. In this Judgement the name of the Circuit Judge that will be hearing my case is mentioned in that document. Would you please do me a very great favour and PM me your case no, name and court so I can have some amunition to use. Many thanks Dsxx
