  1. Yay... well done. I also got my offer this morning for £2218.28!!! Yippee, that's paid off my o/d and credit card bill. I've got no more banks to persue now so I guess that's it for me claiming my charges back. I'll just keep on recommending this site to anyone who'll listen. Thanks everyone. Lu x
  2. I'm really pleased! Thank you to everyone for your support. I'd like to make donation when the money comes through. Please can someone advise me how to do this. I've pm'd a couple of site administrators to move me to the successes but I've not heard back from them yet. Thanks Lu GOOD LUCK WITH ALL YOUR CLAIMS
  3. Well today I rec'd an offer for the full amount £2218.00. Yippeeee! Good luck everyone else! Lu
  4. Hi Flunky, my claim from HSBC was paid up today. I got a letter of offer through the post. They want to offset against debt sent to Metropolital Collection Services thought which is a laugh as this was cleared in May last year! I'll have to get that sorted out sharpish! Good luck with your claim Lu
  5. I hope so too! Fingers crossed that it'll come tomorrow! Lucy
  6. I guess so! Time is something we've got lots of hopefully! thank you for your advice. Funny though I got back today and there was a chq for £393.00 from Alliance and Leicester, they posted their defense today and then paid up on the same day, doh! Good for me though. At least I'll have the £100.00 I need now for the HSBC AQC! Thanks for the replys everyone, I'll keep you posted! Lu
  7. Hi Andrew. You're right. I got home today and there was the chq! Great eh! They say they want to close my account, but who cares, I've not used the account for 4 years so I don't need it!! Going to put the chq in my account tonight and go for a celebratory drink! Lucy
  8. that's great. You know I continue to be amazed that some people get paid up almost straight away for large amounts yet some people (me!!) have had defenses filed for smaller amounts - I'm claiming £1804 plus interest from HSBC and £240 plus interest from A and L and they've both filed defenses today! Well done to you though!
  9. eek, someone on the A and L board (claiming £393 from them too) has just sent me a message to say they had to actually go to court but they did win. eeek! Trying to remain calm but it's difficult. How come sometimes they pay up for people claiming loads but go to all this trouble for me claiming a small amount?!
  10. wow you had to go to court then? do you mind if I ask... was it for a large amount? or were you claiming anything unusual? Are they going to court often do you know? I will make sure I do all the AQC paperwork correctly just in case I also have to go. What was the experience like? Did they try and baffle you with legal terms? Thanks for your feedback. Lucy
  11. it's a bit dodgy but I guess you could plead ignorance? I'm not brave enough to do anything like that though! It happened to my mum, she had her own business. A large client paid an invoice twice £6000. She told them on so many occasions that they'd overpaid. They never claimed it back. She put it into a savings account and left it there for a couple of years. Then spent it! Do what you think is right. But make sure you could pay it back if needed!
  12. Thanks Flunky. Your support and calming influence is appreciated. I'll read up about the new strategy, I've read it once but that was a couple of weeks ago and I want to refresh my memory. I haven't read about anyone actually going to court but I wondered if there were any occasions of this happening? Thank you for your support. Lu
  13. Thanks for your feedback. I just don't want to be the unlucky one!!! I'm sure it'll be ok though. At least with it being only £393 I won't have to pay out for the AQ so I won't lose more than the £50 court fee!! Fingers crossed for us both eh!
  14. Hello all, My HSBC claim for £2220.00 was placed in December. They acknowledged on 4th January. They had till 5th February to file their defense. They've filed their defense today. 5 days early... is this usual? I'm so worried that I'll actually have to go to court and that they'll walk all over me. I'm not the most confident person around. Can anyone tell me what the usual time scales are for receiving the AQC questionnaire and then how long I'll have to fill it in? I'm going to get reading up on how to fill them in over the weekend so I'm armed and ready. Can anyone give me any reassurance? Do people ACTUALLY have to go to court over these claims? I know there is a possibility but how likely is it really? Especially over a not so huge claim Sorry to waffle but pretty nervous now. Your help is appreciated. Thank you!
  15. Hello everyone, I'm really scared now. Alliance and Leicester had till 10th Feb to acknowledge my claim, made on the 22nd of January. Today they've submitted a defense. They surely must be confident they'll win if they've done a defense so early when they didn't need to. Can anyone give me any advise please? Am I likely to be the test case we're all so nervous about. Has anyone actually gone to court yet with Alliance and Leicester. Am I worrying over nothing? Your help would be really appreciated... Thanks!
  16. any luck with this one yet? I'm interested to know as they've got till the 4th to put in their defense and I'm wondering when I'm likely to get my payout! Thanks! Lucy
  17. It seems to take so long to get money back. They've got till the 4th to submit a defence for my claim. I started this process in October! It just takes so long doesn't it! I'd be interested to hear how you get on as it might give me an idea of how long mine will take to go through. I was hoping for the money in March sometime, so I hope it doesn't take much longer than that! I really could do with it to avoid more bank charges!!
  18. Thanks! I hope so. It's only £393.00 but it's my money and I would like it back! Maybe next Saturday I'll have something positive to report! Thanks Lu
  19. Hi there, I'm waiting for HSBC to defend their claim. Do you mind me asking how much your claim was for? Mine is for £2200.00 ish and I'm wondering how much longer it will take to get my money! Their time to defend runs out on 31st Jan as they acknowledged pretty much straight away!
  20. wow that's a lot of money they've had from you over the years. Good luck with your claim. Can't give advice as I'm only claiming back £393.00 Good luck!
  21. Thanks. I'm very nervous about the HSBC Claim I'm doing for my husband. I used the MCOL text from the moneysavingexpert site and I've just noticed it's different from the one on this site. I hope it is ok and I've not done anything wrong. It will be just my luck and I'll lose out on the £120.00 court fee I've paid, and poss the £100.00 AQC fee if it gets that far.
  22. I've issued my claim to Alliance and Leicester on 22nd January. It comes to £393.00 including court fees and interest. I really hope they pay up soon! I'm so skint and don't want any more bank charges as I'm with the Halifax now and they've been great so far!
  23. well done! I'm at the stage of just issuing the moneyclaim online for £260 plus fees and interest so lets hope I get the same result!
  24. Thank you Andrew. I'll issue the claim today then and see what happens. I've been lucky so far. My claims are small but so far have won: RBS - £250 First Direct - £140 Lets hope A and L pay out after MCOL then it'll be 3 out of 3. I've just got to keep persuing HSBC for my husbands £2000 claim!
  25. Alliance and Leicester still won't pay out. I can't afford to submit Moneyclaim until I've been paid Does anyone have any experience of having to take Alliance and Leicester to court over such a small amount? Lu
