  1. lozzy, please start a thread for your claim. Take a look at my story with First Direct, the link is in my sig, below...
  2. yay! Let us know when you've got the cash in your account plz.
  3. Excellent, just don't forget to cross out the bit about keeping your gob shut about it! :-P
  4. Whooohooo! Have you PM'd a mod/admin with the claim details, if not, can you plz pm (me, or another mod/admin) with the following details: Claim number Court that it was filed at (or state MCOL/Northampton CC is you did it online) Amount before the 8% interest What the 8% interest equates to What the court was. I know this info is in your thread (or can easily be known if it isn't), but it is easier if you PM all the info together. Best of luck, I bet you're kinda glad it's gone this far aren't you...seeing as you can add another (approx) £500.00 onto it! Not long now...
  5. Eddie, take a look at my [VERY well documented] journey, link is in my sig, below...
  6. So far so good Bev, keep us posted!
  7. I took out the bit in the letter about enclosing a cheque and replaced it with something like "I authorise you to deduct £10.00 from my account".
  8. Post, Recorded Delivery as a MINIMUM in my opinion. Good luck, keep us posted!
  9. Yes, just add the £120 to your claim. The daily rate of interest is your claim x 0.00022 I.e if you're claiming £1000 plus [for example] £10.00 interest, you'd work out the daily interest on just the £1000 (otherwise you'd be charging interest on interest. geddit?) So, it'd be 1000 x 0.00022 = 22 pence. Hope this helps!
  10. It is indeed a typo (I know this has barracad is a friend of mine and he sent me a text when he'd got the letter, telling me what they'd offered him). I've corrected barracad's post.
  11. Good luck, keep us posted!
  12. Congrats Barracad! Told ya so! If you fax the reply to them, you'll have the money a little quicker too, that's what I did, then called the lovely Debbie D'Aubney* (I bet she's such a fox, after speaking to her lol!) to check they'd got it. It's up to you, just a thought. *Note to others: I am NOT recommending that barracad calls and enters into dialogue with DG Solicitors, merely that he calls: Gettit??
  13. Bev, read the FAQs, read my thread, and also the rest of the forum. After you ave done the above you will know what you need to do.
  14. How long have you had the account? As you've read the FAQs(!) you will be aware that you can claim back as far as 6 years.... Also, as for repercussions, I believe the FAQs also mention setting up a parachute account, in case they do close your existing account. Believe it, the risks are real. You are taking on probably the biggest financial organisation in the WORLD, who have virtually unlimited funds to pump into a legal defence. But, with plenty of reading and research, you can pull this off. Do not underestimate the task at hand.
  15. I would guess so, but they've still got the same deadlines (set by the court now). If it was me? I suppose it depends how quickly you want the money...! Whatever you decide to do, I would URGE you NOT to accept anything less than your full claim amount.
  16. It seems that FD's tactics are now to instruct DG to offer only half. My advice is to reject this either by ignoring the offer, or replying with a VERY SIMPLE LETTER basically saying: I've got your letter in which you offered me £XXX as full settlement in my claim. I don't accept your offer.
  17. Abby, keep the reply simple: OR, BankFodder seems to think that simply not reply may be a better move, the reasons being; They will expect you to reply, either accepting or rejecting their offer. If you simply don't reply they will wonder wtf is going on, and the ball will be back in their court. It's up to you....
  18. Bankfodder seems to think that simply not replying is best, as it will speak volumes. It will then put the ball into their court again, as they would have expected a reply from you either accepting or rejecting their offer. If you simply don't reply, they won't know what the hell to do. It's up to you, if you do reply, keep is simple, I'd suggest: Check the spelling because I can never spell sincerely correctly! Hope this helps!
  19. I would now recommend that letters are sent as a minimum by Recorded Delivery. I'll be using Special Delivery when eventually get around to claiming back my unlawful bank charges from Halifax.
  20. Claim#: 6QZ40590 Amount: £2227.21 Filed 22/06/06 MCO (Northampton CC)
