  1. Thanks, we seem to have sorted this out now as it has become apparent that major work needs to be done, including taking plaster off the walls, due to the fact that there is a major infestation. The LL realises this is not something a tenant will be expected to fund.
  2. Thanks, yes they are protected so I need to have specialists in - my main issue is who pays for the specialists, and for the repairs to the wiring, me or the landlord? I have my view but I'm hoping someone will have some experience of this or something similar who can tell me where the costs should belong.
  3. Thanks, can I ask if you have any legal basis for your view about this being the landlords responsibility? I agree with you but the landlord claims it is my responsibility to renew damaged wiring and bring the flat back to how it was before these creatures moved in.
  4. Who pays to get rid of these vermin ? The landlord says I have to pay, and replace all damaged wiring etc. I didn't bring them into the building so surely it is risk the landlord should have managed? Does anyone have any experience of this problem?
  5. I used Paypal and have asked them to get involved, thanks for yuor tip re credit card though. Useful for future transactions.
  6. Same thing happened to me last week. They're still at it - I also intend to chase this as far as I can - did you get your money back eventually? I even had an email from them saying "congratulations" we are lodging a credit in your account (because no delivery had been made) for use in the next 6 months - as if I would ever use them again. If it wasn't my money being wasted it would be funny. My advice is keep well away from them.
