  1. Three pieces of information are needed. 1 The date it becomes law so the victims know when they can start reporting. 2 A very clear link to report the offenders. 3 An assurance someone will actually do something, for example actually fine them and report the results to CAG. The FSA (or renamed version) or ombudsman should not be used as both seem to be utterly useless at protecting the public. (personal view).
  2. Can you tell me how I go about reclaiming the unjust charges. I have asked Central Trust many times to refund them they refuse. Who else can I go to?
  3. The interest could never be covered as they caused us to be in arrears from the first month. When the crash came and my business closed we asked if we could pay less for a while, they said no. When we had income coming in once more we offered to pay extra. This we did and every month fees were added. We caught up with payments some time ago. The £23000 loan now stands at £29000. Ombudsman service protected CT, Citizens Advice less than useless. The bigger the business in the UK the greater protection they seem to have. Great truth in the saying 'it is the price a person can pay the lawyer which controls the outcome'. CT have lots of money and of course can afford the lawyers. We can only presume they are waiting for the future when we have nothing left then they will take the house. Nice country the UK if it can be afforded and a person does not need security.
  4. The interest rate was increased shortly after loan started, that is not the problem. They claimed we did not return the original DD and sent us a new one, as a result we became one month in arrears before we had started paying. We did in fact return the DD with the signed agreement, I assumed this was a normal dubious practice. The issue is as follows, my business failed due to bank crash. We could not make the agreed payments we paid a reduced amount for the next eight months then resumed the agreed payments. They would not allow us to pay extra to clear the arrears and continued with the £60 charges each month even when for a short while they agreed to accept extra payments the charges were still added. We held up our end by paying off the arrears still they continued to add monthly fees because as you remember 'we were not allowed to pay any arrears'. We wish to be allowed to pay without conditions at this point we have paid in excess of fourteen thousand pounds to Central Trust. The letters after three years have stopped and our debt January 2013 was £29,476.37 we borrowed £23,870.00 on 24/10/2007. Trust this all makes sense. CTvictim
  5. I simply deducted the borrowed amount from the current balance to arrive at £7000 approx. Is there anything I can do to have this extra money removed? Thank you CTyictim
  6. I am at risk doing anything alone as we have no money whatsoever spare to take any chances. FOS negotiated £720 I asked for £7000 to be removed. I refused to accept the £720, CT reduced the loan by this amount I have not replied to the letter to accept this offer. The following is from the letter,'We have done this in the interests of fairness and good practice which we trust you will accept'
  7. We have two folders when laid down are two inches high. All were sent to FOS and returned to us after they had failed to achieve anything. I do not want sympathy but am aged 66 still working, my concern is for the security of the home for my wife. We live in constant fear of never being able to repay this loan and of Central Trust forcing her out should I pass leaving a widow. I am very grateful for your interest shown in this case. CTvictim
  8. I have a similar problem, we went into arrears during the bank crash. Central Trust would not agree to any temporary reduction.. They added £60 per month year on year. Our £23k loan became £31k. We have now overpaid for years to clear the arrears. The loan is currently £29k. I saw a statement saying we do not have to pay the added fees and interest. Can someone please advise me as what I would have to do to have these extra charges removed. We have in fact never missed paying something every month. The pressure put on me led to being dragged further down with cancer requiring a week in hospital, I am now well once more. CTvictim.
