  1. I can see the 12k but not listed. No CCJ's, infact theres not loads of info in there.
  2. Hmmmmm so I guess until the day comes where I dont pay the in house teams they wont move to a 3rd party place.
  3. Im trying to get up to speed with all the DCA tactics. I understand what a CCA is and why it's used, BUT..... It seems that some may use it to get out of paying debts all together. Is this right? I know alot of people here (myself including) have had DCA's contact them for debts going back years and the SB factor comes in but what of those that are recent? For instance. I have x3 defaulted CC's. Halifax, HSBC & Virgin - Was for a period on a payment plans with them and now moved acrossed to DCA. Also have an HSBC Overdraft and Halifax loan. x2 accounts with Metropolian and x2 accounts with Blair, Oliver & Scott and now one with Link, After reading all this info should I just keep paying the monthly installments or send a CCA request just to see what comes of it? What if they didnt provide one in the 12 days, would that mean I dont have to pay them? Not saying I would like to get out of the 12k hole im in. Honest
  4. I had several postcodes last year and when I called it was McKenzie Hall. The adviser was going on about a £800 debt that I had no knowledge of. It could have been mine but I really didnt remember. He kept going on and on about making a token payment of £25 via their website, What I soon realised was they were trying to reset the clock on SB. I sent them a SB letter saying i do not acnowledge the debt, heard nothing since. Funny thing is theres a search on my credit file last October by McKenzie so Im wondering if they have another?
  5. Oh dear oh dear...... Will be sending the CCA request tomorrow JUST 2 DAYS AFTER LETTER ARRIVED!! Just had a call from Rio at Link, told him I have replied and you will receive the letter within 48 hours. He asked what it said, I replied "You will see in 2 days and please from now on I ask that you only contact me via letter".... oh, ok. I shall make a note on your account that you are failing to co-operate and esculate to the next level.. It actually made me LOL.... Very funny. Im not sure one could be any more co-operative in truth, replying to theor letter so fast.
  6. Hi, I'm pretty sure it was... I think (almost 99% sure) that the last payment I made was in 2000 on the original account - 2001 I went on holiday for her majesty. Their first letter was 24th Jan 2007 with the first payment from me on the 3rd of Feb 2007. Can I write to them asking to prove it somehow??? I cant really find as the original bank account the payments were made from was closed years ago.
  7. Back in 2007 I received a letter from these with an outstanding debt of £3000. At the time, I knew nothing of DCA's and went along with it. Since then I have paid over £1000 and even to this day still pay the monthly installments. Now, after learning everything I have on this forum I've realised that the debt, when they first contacted me was statute barred. Didnt know what that was at the time, also, i wouldnt imagine they could provide a CCA request. Should I been sending a request and if they don't respond should I stop paying them? The original debt was £2200 and raised to £3000. So I've paid the best part of 50% already..
  8. Ok, so the letter has now arrived from Link. Although it does say that the benefit of the debt has been assigned to IDR Finance UK Limted and owed to them. Link are acting as a servicer for your debt Shall I fire a CCA request off and see what comes back?
  9. Hello everyone, been reading all this and glad I did so signed up to get your thoughts. I have had my CC balance handed over to Link in the last few weeks, I called Link yesterday as they had left several messages on my mobile/house. Also a number of text messages. I have'nt yet received any letter from them though. When I spoke to the adviser, usual thing, very pushy and asking if I could clear the balance. I told him that I hadn't received a letter from them and that one should be sent out in the first instance. He replied. we sent you one on the 12th of this month, I asked for them to resend it again please and all he did was divert to try and talk about the balance. At this point, I said until you send me a letter I do not acknowledge this bill, send me a letter then I will take it from there via letter only. He said "We prefer to deal over the phone here" lol... I replied, "I like to have paper trials" he replied "sure, we'll play along" Joker.... after reading many comments the way forward is to first send a CCA request and give them the 12 days?? One thing I dont understand after seeing all the replies people are having back from Link is the letter from mbna 3 weeks ago said... "Following previous correspondence, which confirmed the termination of your MBNA credit agreement, please note you are still required to repay...." This is what, according to many people Link are saying, that the agreement has been terminated therefore no CCA can be provided. This is a new debt where I only defaulted in the last 6 months. I have other DCA agreements that are fine and they have ALWAYS sent me a letter first Whats the best way forward people?
