  1. At last, letter received from RLP confirming that details have been removed from their database. Certainly not the end of the matter though.
  2. Waiting for some sort of confirmation that Boots use an RLP/Cireco database when employing staff, of course they wouldn't want to admit to it but does look like the only dealings they have with them are to do with civil recovery. I will point out also that they don't keep cctv evidence either.
  3. Just a quick update, not a lot happening. Spoken on telephone a few times to profit protection manager who is getting increasingly annoyed that RLP aren't responding to his requests for a confirmation letter removing my daughters data and that I'm still receiving debt collection letters (he didn't even realise that RLP pass on to DCA's) Won't be speaking via telephone anymore, further letter writing I think.
  4. Mr Echo, I would contact the Manager at your Boots store, send a copy to the profit protection manager and also the Chief Exec. Ask them why your daughters signed civil recovery notices without a parent or guardian present. I've been told (by Boots) that they use agency staff who aren't fully trained. Make sure your daughters sign a letter giving you permission to act on their behalf. Good luck, but I warn you to expect lots of letter writing over the coming months.
  5. Another letter today from DERS stating that RLP are prepared to accept a reduced amount of £69.88 or the whole amount spread over 20 months.
  6. JonCris - No one has any paperwork of mine should anyone need it can you let me know and I will forward it on, together with consent from my daughter.
  7. Billybumpkins - Please spare a thought (whether you are a parent or not) of the innocent and vulnerable children and adults on this forum that haven't committed a crime, haven't stolen, haven't incurred a loss to a company but have been subjected to all the goings on relating to untrained security staff, loss prevention staff that haven't a clue, RLP plus their numerous debt collection agencies and threats that come with it. I'm with you Button! Joncris - Count me in on your meeting
  8. Well done Button, good to see a letter like this from RLP, hope I get one too. x
  9. No real address on the letter Martin just trading style of Opus 227 Ingram Street Glasgow G1 1DA
  10. Further letter received today from a company called DERS (Debt Enforcement & Recovery Service) demanding payment, warning of a possible site visit or legal action. Small print at the bottom states that this company is a trading style of Opos Limited. No reply yet from Boots, I sent further letter asking for a reply on Friday.
  11. I haven't corresponded with RLP at all only Boots, they certainly won't see my daughter's birth certificate. I suppose you could send a copy to Boots on the strict instruction that its not to be passed on to RLP. Still awaiting a reply regarding my daughter from Boots, 3 RLP letters, 3 debt collection letters I wonder what the next step is?
  12. Hi Button, I received an apology letter myself from Boots regarding my daughter however please be aware that although Boots dropped the case RLP still forwarded her details to a debt collection agency who we are now being harassed by. Its neverending and I hope you don't get the same.
  13. T k Maxx seem to be the worst with Boots a very close second. They would be better off employing someone to make sure the correct price tag is attached to their goods rather than paying security guards to hand out RLP notices!
  14. Joncris are there two companies this one OPOS is definately based in Scotland? I think I can recall sometime ago someone mentioning a breach of the DPA should a third party become involved can anyone shed some light on this? Does anyone know if Boots are aware of these matters being passed on?
  15. 'Our clients Retail Loss Prevention Limited have advised us that you were found to have committed a wrongful act on their clients Boots the Chemist premises which caused them to suffer a financial loss' I dont suppose this ever gets to a court, just passed around to DCA's although they're not collecting a debt, just compensation costs. How much is this costing Boots though? Same amount is being requested although I bet the next letter will have their costs added on.
  16. Hi Martin, company I got letter from was OPOS Limited SC338837 based in Glasgow, see my testing mousse thread again!
  17. Just when I thought it was all over, my daughter today received a letter from OPOS Limited. A civil recovery notice along the same lines as RLP ones, demanding the same money. I need to write again to Boots, but was concerned about my daughters name being passed on again to a further company. Here we go again!
  18. Well thanks for everyones help on here but its not over yet, I'll need RLP to confirm that she's not on their dishonesty database. Forgot to mention that I also received today a letter from RLP in response to my subject access request asking for the £10 fee. 'You are advised that this is a valid claim for compensation and this issue should not be ignored'
  19. Regarding my daughter's testing mousse incidence in Boots. As I had no response from Boots on Thursday I sent a further letter also enclosing my 3 RLP letters. Today I have had a reply, apologising for their lack of response but explaining that they've had a changeover in Store Manager. The new Store Manager yesterday investigated the matter and has taken guidance from their Regional Profit Protection Manager. I can now be assured that the civil recovery claim has been cancelled. The Regional Profit Protection Manager is now conducting a thorough investigation and has confirmed that the appropriate communication and training has already been arranged. The member of the security team who issued the civil recovery notice no longer works for them. This Profit Protection Manager would very much like to speak to me and I have been given his mobile number. Letter ends with a further apology for any distress caused.
  20. Your store is just relying on people paying RLP without a fuss. Someone correct me here but am I right in thinking that a store can only keep cctv footage for a certain amount of time unless Police are involved.
  21. Who are your direct employers though Leslie, is it the store or a security firm?
  22. Well its good that your store doesn't go down the civil recovery route for under 18's it must be the only one. As you say you can civil recovery someone without the police being involved if you were 100% sure they committed a crime but have you thought of the consequences of doing this. I'm sure any Court would ask why you didn't report a crime to the Police. What evidence would you have as I doubt very much whether your store would keep any cctv footage, maybe you can confirm whether they do or not. Do you need to inform RLP whether police have been involved or not?
