Bank Charges - OFT test case - the banks have given up
amtired replied to BankFodder's topic in General
sorry I don't understand a pounds a pence but the charges don't equate fully to actual loss for the banks, so can it not all be claimed as pure profit for them to re-invest? -
Bank Charges - OFT test case - the banks have given up

I have a simplistick (sp) view here is re-investment not what a business does when it refurbishes? keeping a propety/office up to date with supplies, decor, equipment, staff!!! -
oh I wasn't planning on taking them to court just invoicing them the charges they apply to me they can charge me for admin and get paid for it so I wanted to be in same place and charge them an admin fee it would be unfair for them to expect payment and not reimburse me my admin costs!!!

subbing I would like to know how to write such a letter invoicing them for administration costs

Hi, I did that before sending off the 1st request to Nat Weat Thought I would try that with the solicitors then do the whole thing properly as set out on here. the solicitors wrote back stating that that was unnacceptable as it would take too long to pay off debt!!!!! hence the offial claim now having said that Ihave the spreadsheet and it's working out the 8% if it goes to court we're nearly skwits (even)

Hello an update Sent in a refund of charges request to Nat West and Bryan Carter response from Nat West, an acknowledgement of complaint with a finacial statement to fill in (felt confident at that) today recieved from Bryan Carter acknowledging that I have raised a dispute they say I may be partially successful but not all charges are irrcoverable in order to bring this matter to a conclusion they that on a without prejudice basis will accept an amount in full and final tha amount is more than double what I actually owe them. Any advise on reading the forums I understood (possibly wrongly) that whilst an account is in dispute it could not be chased!!!

Hello, A brief statement Had a barclaycard, made redundant you know what happensafterwards. Recieved letter from Aktiv begining February asking for payment enclosing a Notice of Assignment (nothing has come from Barclays themselves) Sent CCA request same day They sent back to me a letter stating they had to get in touch with original creditor Their time was up for sending the CCA 27th February As they had responded, I didn't send off the Account in dispute letter thinking give them time to corrospond with Barclays Today I recieved a letter from BC+W headed LEGAL NOTIFICATION Should I send the dispute letter to Akitiv or BC+W? I know I only signed an application form so not worried too much Also there are charges onn the acount as the debt has been sold do I DPA Aktiv or Barclaycard themselves? Many thanks for help offered /given (sorry not as brief as I first thought)

signed on but no benefits paid 2 days later
amtired replied to jack1966's topic in Benefits and HMRC
I'm sorry to hear that but I still say go back in and tell the people on the door you have a complaint and you want to see the manager we have doormen on our job centre, they decide appointments etc don't take no for an answer, you have rights to benefits and THEY DO DO counter payments, I've had them when going between banks and waiting for a post office account because of charges taking all the benefits -

Hi, if you have had no payment go into job centre plus or whereever it is you signed on and tell them you want an emergency payment they will check their dertails tell you to go back later n the day and issue you a giro you should not have had to apply for a crisis loan if you get no joy ask to see manager, tell them you are going to stay there til you see one keep calm explain the situation to them it will be sorted on that day -
Hi, an update, I did the SAR, got the statements on Monday, not a lot of money in question but, it's still better in my pocket. Today recieved a letter from Bryan Carter, saying court proceeding will be issued on 16th Feb. So I did the big no-no and rang them, explained that the debt they wanted was unfair charges, that I had SAR'd NatWest, and the actual amount I owed was £21.37 The gentleman (who I have to say was very nice, polite, seemed to know what I was talking about) asked me to send a copy of information with 1st letter I sent, and they would sort it with NatWest. When I asked about the threat of court action, he said he would hold the account to give me time to forward above information. I told him if they went ahead I would contest the case. So do I send them a spreadsheet with info on or just copy the statements, highlighting the charges?

Hello, I recieved my statements this morning. Worked out I actually owe them £21.37, the rest of the balance they want is charges. I have recieved letters from Fredrickson International and Bryan Carter Solicitors. My questions are, Do I write to Fredricksons' and Bryan Carter or just request of the charges to be removed and I pay what I owe to NatWest?
-
Sorry for butting in but if they send a letter saying they can't retrieve it, then surely that could be copied and sent to CRA's to get said info removed? or am I being too simple here?
