  1. Ok with my job i work away a lot, and the children behave when im there. But lately they have been playing up and sneaking downstairs in the early hours of the morning. It has got to the point were one of them or both are going to do themselves some harm. So far nothing has worked ie taking toys away behavior charts,......anything. They are 3 and 5, i have looked at child gates but they would get over them easily enough. Is there any sort of alarm that is would go off if they went past say the door giving a loud audible warning? I can not stress enough how worried i am that something could happen to them. Any help greatly appreciated.
  2. Sorry i have not replied as yet, im working in guernsey for six weeks. And it is very hard to find anything out over the phone, especially when they are not linked directly to u.k accounts. I have again sent a recorded delivery letter with yet ANOTHER copy of the relevant paperwork. I did however speak to a helpful woman at customer relations who was very annoyed once told of my predicament, and she was running in to brick walls trying to get to the bottom of this. I will keep you posted.
  3. I hadn't thought of them (military myself and its all new) but will give them a shot.
  4. Hi, my grandad has been diagnosed with lung and throat cancer. Really we are trying to find out if my grandad is entitled to any benefits that we don't know about or home help etc? I have been in touch with the British legion and ssaffa (as he served in the RAF during the war and after) but really all the information we can find out what if anything he would be entitled to. Also there are some buildings at the end of my street for elderly people, i would like to get him in there as we are there if he needs anything and he would still have his independence (stubborn sod) is he entitled to any of this?
  5. I am having a bit of trouble trying to find a template of evidence of an original credit agreement, so i can fire a letter off to Black horse finance. If anybody can assist id be very grateful.
  6. Hi, sorry for not answering the questions raised. Well tbh im not quite sure how the money was taken and neither are the bank. It seems some has gone out abroad, Israel/Netherlands/USA etc, and i have not been there. Some via the internet the bank seem to think. They have also said that the high interest account card can ONLY be used at my local Barclays branch because of the type of account it is. Fraud have not even looked at this yet because they have not received the disclaimer forms, which i have sent from within the branch SEVERAL times. If i took this to the financial ombudsman, would they rule in my favour just by the sheer incompetence of Barclays?
  7. This really annoys me, i mean i squared the account away and will pay the charges, but that is not the point. Some single parents probably have nobody to assist, add that to the fact her kids father doesn't help her at all and never has. I have advised her to close the account down and get a credit union current account. Loyds....well banks are the **** of the earth imho!!
  8. My gf has just received a letter from Lloyds TSB saying she had gone over her overdraft and they had set up an unplanned overdraft on her account at £15 and £15 DAILY!! she rang them up and said her account was backin order after one day and she is in receipt of child benefit and income support, and that this would leave her with little to no money. Im sure i read somewhere that if the money in the bank is some sort of benefit then they can not take it all out in one go. Is this true? i cant believe the banks are trying to charge people this ridiculous amount of money which is more than what they were charging before. Is there anything she can do about this?
  9. Hi, well in my savings account you could see the money had left from my savings account to my current account within a day to cover the monies missing from the current account. There was a card sent (for my savings account) which i never received, i always thought that if your money was in a high interest savings account then you did not need a card as it was there to stay. So where this card went i have no idea, im just wondering where i go from here?
  10. Ok further to physically going in to the branch and getting a witness to observe the forms being faxed. I rang the fraud dept again. I was told that it can take 48 hours for the forms to be scanned and reach the right dept. So....48 hours later i rang again, i was told i would be called back by the person dealing with it. When i received the call i was informed that the faxed paperwork had NOT been received by them. I told him that this was completely unacceptable (also asked whether Barclay's CEO had to wait this long after he had £10000 fraudulently taken from his account, and was told he could not comment on that) so again they want to send out the paperwork. Now...the problem is not me getting the paperwork, but incompetent Barclay's staff getting it to the correct dept. I'm absolutely FUMING here as they are seriously taking the p1ss.
  11. Hi all and thanks for the replies, well i have been working for them for nearly six months. As for the contract, i will have to have a read through it and check. They really are pushing it with the agency staff though. BT made mistakes years ago dishing out water tight contracts to their staff, and cant even sack staff done for drink driving, as they have never sacked anyone for it so can not start now as the flood gates would open. But they can give us an unbelievably hard time getting as much work out of us for as little money as possible because they know we are agency. Soooo not right.
  12. Ok i work for BT openreach as a sub contractor for hays. I am sent my jobs via email and generally get between 18-21 jobs per day. However, BTs own engineers struggle with 10-15 jobs most days. I never send any jobs back and they are ALWAYS completed. But we have noticed that something isn't right lately with BT, they seem to be piling more work onto us for the same money, for instance, we often do LLU (ISP migration) which has to be done at night. So we work Monday (half day) and then midnight till 8am. BT have said they do not want to pay us for the half day Monday that we would have off to work the night shift. Surely this is not right, we are contracted for 37 hours per week, and if they want this work done then surely we have to be paid for it regardless of having half day monday off? And my second point is, i have had to ring in sick as i have this bug thats going round. I was told that it was not really acceptable, and that they can release staff. Im fuming!!!! i graft damned hard and get the jobs done that im sent when their own staff really do take the proverbial urine. What are my rights regarding sick and being a contractor??
  13. After a bit more arsing around from Barclays i went into the branch and asked them to send it internally with a witness, am still waiting (been 2 days) and as soon as i hear i will post here. Thank you for asking
  14. My grandad has recently been diagnosed with throat and lung cancer. So staying warm has become paramount over christmas, we have been looking at getting him an oil heater as he has no central heating and the calor gas is getting very expensive for him. We need to keep the electricity consumption down to a bare minimum, so has anybody got an oil heater and know how much electric they use an hour? any info greatly appreciated.
  15. Thats a bit unfair AL ive served my country well and we shouldnt all be tarred with the same brush. There are some very good people in the forces doing a VERY difficult job.
  16. It is NOT completely wrong and incorrect!! this is exactly what was happening in the armed forces very recently when i was in. Some guys were opting to leave the army as they claimed they could not afford to stay in as the APC and RAO were on them immediately taking monies form their wages.
  17. My girlfriend bought some boots from additions direct (south boots) after the first month she had to pay for the boots to be re-heeled. And yet they still wore down again very quickly, after two months usage the metal in the heel is showing and they need to be thrown out. My question is what is a reasonable time that boots should last given they were only worn to journeys to and from school?
  18. Hi there i served for fifteen years in the army, (left in april) the one way you can get your money back is to write direct to his C.O or regimental pay office RAO. Send proof of all correspondence between yourself and the CSA and your ex (agreements etc) the army do not like bad debt and the money will be taken direct from his wages. I have seen this work first hand so you should get the money owed.
  19. Have now received the statements by rec delivery. Will be sending them back highlighted by rec delivery with a 14 day deadline to reimburse the monies from my account, will keep you posted.
  20. I submit my times sheets online to Hays as i contract for BT openreach. I recently submitted my hours on the monday (any later than monday night and the funds wont hit my account on the Thursday) i noticed i ahd not been paid when i pt my next weeks hours in so on the comments box i asked if they had received my time sheet as i had not received anything. I had no reply, eventually Hays contacted me and asked if i was off on the week ending 16/1107 as they had not received any hours. I said i had submitted them and even asked if they had received anything. I did eventually have the money paid to my account but i was overdrawn by £103 and received a letter from Barclays confirming the standard £30 fee. Surely my employers are are at fault here??
