  12. Congratulations. Well done. Can you please complete the poll in the General Forum - it encourages others and have you thought about a small contribution to the Law book fund?
  13. A list of all charges etc
  14. Ihave posted a reply in your thread.
  15. The last paragraph is in response to a request to know if human beings had been invovolved in the imposition of charges. This is an important letter, can you scan and email it [email protected],uk
  16. Even if you agreed to no future claims, it is unlikely that any judge would hold it as binding. I take that offer came as a secondary letter to their formal reply and that it was 'without prejudice, confidential and privileged, if so you can only be held to confidentially if you had agreed to accept such a communication beforehand. As to whether you accept their terms that is up to you. If you reject them, they will probably make their retailiation worse.
  17. I'm looking at Halifax statements for a friend - they have only shown 'charges' from at least Jun 05
  18. Yes do. And if they say there was no manual intentervation, insist that they put in writing.
  19. They will accept when you pay into your account - it is legal tender. Not an answer I know, but it might be wortha phone call - and tell them the call is being recorded for quality and training purposes. The answer might be interesting.

    Oh My God!

For calculating your loss either a complete list of charges etc or your statements is adequate. However, if you read the DPA request, it also asks for details of manual intervention. The reason for this is that a spokeman for the banks said recently that the charges were so high was that it required manual intervention by two people in the automated process to reject ODs, DDs etc. Okay, let's see the evidence. No=one, to be knowledge has received this.
  21. 14 days is more than adequate time for a bank with their vast resources. No judge would say this is not enough time.
  22. You can also file the forms at your local County Court which makes the layout easier. You can claim for the 2 accounts quoting both account numbers. You don't need the dates you started the accounts. There is a link in the library to downloadable Claim Form N1.
  23. I would wait 40 days 40 days from date of payment. Filing a Claim for an estimated amount has problems of its own. Keep it simple even if you have to wait a bit longer,
  24. Just address it to the Bank. You don't need a name.
  25. I would think that this would depend on the full terms of the settlement. Can you give us any more info?
