  3. I've finally decided to go ahead with a claim, and am sending it today....
  4. I was successful in 2006 in reclaiming charges - bank dropped out day before court proceedings. The charging however went on merrily as before and in 2009 I was successful in claiming back a further £2500 as a hardship case. Well, the charging has gone on just as merrily as before, and as I am on a low income, live alone in London, I have accrued about £1500 again in charges and am thinking of trying again. I am caught up in a trap of high charges which means more payments refused therefore more charges. Tomorrow I will be charged £128.00 from the previous month and by the time I have paid int
  5. I'm a self employed garden designer. Friend of friend asked me to re do garden. Before doing anything I got verbal agreement that she was commissioning me and to get going. Asked to design and build garden. Did preparatory work, sketch plans, starting costings, 3 site visits, etc. Then she pulled out. As I had done a fair bit of preparatory work (behind the scenes stuff - lists / phonecalls/ schedules / enquiries plus plans and sketches and amendments. I presented her with my invoice but she has only said she'll give me £100 next month. This doesn't cover my time. We hadn't agreed a
  6. on my statement it said 'goodwill payment'. I claimed for all reserve fees, so maybe they added the amount up to the day they refunded the money, or my maths is sooooo bad.
  7. sorry, I don't understand 'fishergate preston'. All I know is ALL the money I claimed was paid.
  8. I just used the template from this site that includes a plea for hardship. I simply stated facts and was sent a budget form by the bank. They needed to know my income and expenditure. Some of the amounts were estimates, and I explained this. I waited a while after sending it off ( about one month) and then sent the second letter -template from this site. It is straightforward, just be honest with them. I was surprised how prompt they were, but appreciated their goodwill gesture of the repayment of my money.
  9. I have had great success! All monies returned plus more! I'm not sure what that was, but possibly the extra from the time I claimed. All as a goodwill gesture.......!
  10. I have sent back the budget form and will send 2nd letter shortly. I had a delay due to mild flu. I will send second letter shortly as a follow up.
  11. I meant to say, I am claiming hardship as this is genuinely the case. I have now been sent a load of stuff from Barclays including a Budget Planner to fill in. I can fill it in for them, but do I need to then send second letter - bit confused, any advice welcome.
  12. I have now sent prelim letter to Barclays on April 1st. Have already had letter back saying they will deal with it by 6th May at the latest. Will follow up 14 day action plan and send second letter on 18th April.
  13. I made a successful claim in 2006 for approx £4000. I am now going to make another for around £1700. I have added on these reserve fee charges of £22, but reading around, I am wondering that as I have 'agreed' to this', I won't be able to claim them. Does anyone know? thanks
  14. success! - settled in full at 11th hour before going for prelim hearing. Keep going everyone -it's worth all the sweat.
  15. my thread seems to have moved to general queries site- can it go back to Barclays please! my prelim court case is next week -does anyone know who is responsible for court fees if settled last minute out of court? ta
