Could someone advise me on the following company?
They have wrote to my address, chasing a partner who no longer resides with me (;-), i have emailed them stating, he no longer resides with me etc etc. The letter i thought was very threatening, stating they would visit the address and his place of work, to collect the full sum of money. He is no longer in the country, so they will have a job!
I thought about sending them copies of my rent receipts and say a household bill to prove he is not here.
Any advice on dealing with this situation would be great, thanks.

well i have not heard about the matter since i stated i was skint and couldnt afford to pay them this sum, i have early discharge paperwork last week, so my guess is they have decided not to pursue the matter?

Also my partners phone has stopped ringing at all hours of the day. At least this may give him a few weeks peace! Will keep you posted.
Many thanks

thanks he has not heard a thing from anyone, no email, no nothing.
So we will see what happens, and then discuss payment proposals with however they pass the debt too.
Thanks

Where do i stand with a faulty battery?
I had the camera for Xmas and i have hardly used it. The battery was fully charged, and allows for a small amount of photos to be taken. Its almost like it flattens when its off. Also every time i go to turn it on the date and time needs resetting as if the battery has been removed!
I have the receipt.
Thanks

i have emailed enquiring when contract is up as thinking of leaving, unless there are any deductions available.
I try not to phone as every time i do i get cut off, when in a queue, or get no help at all. Ending up with a large bill. Which Sky have already refunded twice!
a sky+box would be great.

brilliant thank you, i will do this in a couple of weeks time. Although my contract does not end until August, i can Upgrade in May. I hope they can strike a deal at this point. My phone is about to be no more! Need a new one ASAP.

Ok i will pass this info on to my partner. I had the same experience with another monthly loan provider, i got passed to cheque spread who were happy to accept £1 a month for 3 months. He has cancelled his card.
The other thing is i am concerned he'll get harrassed at work via his work number, what can we do about this? We are unable to log into his online account to change any details, it appears they want him to call them. I was going to change his contact number via that.
Thanks again.

ok i will do my research. I would like the samsung tocca phone.
Does anyone have a direct email contact of someone in sales? I never get a response from orange if i write via post and sometimes the call centre is useless!
I'd like what i have now for say £20 a month, plus the above phone!

does anyone have direct email contact at sky? Rather than just customer service??
-
i have emailed them asking for the possibility of paying 3 months via direct debit mid June, we will then be up to date. They have allowed this before. I have stated if we can pay any before then, then obviously we will.
Not heard from them yet! Fingers crossed.

does anyone have an email contact at poundtillpayday? Someone rather than the general customer service team?
My partner did not pay his £62.50, cancelled his card and so on.
I want to construct an email to them this eveing, explaining his situation and ask them to give him some time to get his finances together worth a try.

I do think it is standard what is wrote on their reminders. But i did think that was a little premature, didnt have that problem in Jan when we were 4 months behind.
I will email them or get my partner to speak to them, i don't like talking to them.
We were paying £80 every week for some time before the end of March, i think we just needed a break from paying so much out, it was so hard. But i can see it mounting up again if we arent careful.
My partner is unwell he has a dark patch in his lung and is suffering with some pain, his job is mainly physical so he has hardly been working. I have been off work for a month with depression for an array of reasons. I went BR in Jan, i feel like i still have money worries, especially now with the Ctax increasing already.
It is just never ending!

Can the council take you to court if you owe money in the current financial year?
We have missed the first payment of this year, £96, just cant afford it.
We had trouble last year with c tax, but towards the end of the year we were paying X amount a week to clear the arrears, which did before the end of March 2009.
My partner is planning on calling them over next few days as we will have another £96 added on tomorrow, again no chance of paying any of it for a few weeks. As the reminder stated 7 days to pay otherwise they would proceed??
Thanks

the phone needs replacing, and i pay no more than about £28 a month inc, thats will extra calls to say 0845 numbers etc and VAT. the actual contract was £23 a month. I get unlimited texts and 500 mins, which is great as i have no landline. Its nice to know the phone is always there.
I got a deal on this contract for handing in old handset and a loyalty discount. Should have been £35 a month at the time.
So i was hoping i could do the same again and get a further knocked off price, my sister has already said she would have it in her name if need be.
-
do u think i could ask for a few quid of bill each month and ask for a sky + box thrown in? Lol:p
-
thank you for your thought Endfieldan,
My partner has paid the defferal amount again, which means he has not paid back what he has borrowed, he is going to have a think about what he would like to do next.
Told him negotiation is worth a try.

Hello,
My Orange contract ends in August and i am due an upgrade in 2 weeks.
I would like to know what the likelihood is off getting a reduced monthly bill and any other extras thrown in if i state i want to leave Orange? Is it best to call or go into an Orange store?
Also as a new contract would fail due to my credit, can they continue on my current tarrif without applying for new credit?
Also would they do me a great deal on a dongle?
Any thoughts would be great. Thanks

Hi
Our Sky contract is due to end in the next month or 2, basically i would like to know if anyone has managed to get their monthly bill reduced and any extras thrown in, if you state you want to leave sky for X amount of reasons.
Also how to go about achieving this? I have already emailed them, however i have not heard from them yet.
Many thanks

i have had email from the main complaint lady, stating she will look into the matter and contact us soon.
So we will see what happens.

thank you will drop an email to this woman direct! I noticed how bad their address was, being a PO Box, how stupid!
Thanks

the company his loan is with is poundstillpayday? http://www.poundstillpayday.co.uk/ he is getting into a right mess with everything at the moment and isnt in the best of health. He is planning on paying the £62.50 interest next week and then hoping to try and get them to agree to no more payments as i said before he would have paid back the loan and some interest by then.
any advice on this company would be great.
thanks
Partner Unable to work, Need help please!
in Benefits and HMRC

Hello,
Firstly i do not know if i am posting in the right area? Please move if in the wrong area.
My partner has discovered he is unable to work, for how long is uncertain.
He is currently claiming SSP from his employer. Has been for about a month now.
Firstly how long can he claim this, before his place of work becomes annoyed with his absence? He had hoped to return very soon.
What benefit if any can he then claim if his SSP comes to an end?
A bit more info.....
We currently rent our home, i work and receive working tax credits, which brings me onto another point. How long can my partner receive working tax with me if he is off sick?
I work 30 hours a week and bring home around £160. We have no children and currently claim no other help.
What help is available?
Our household has around £290 a week coming in, £1252 a month. Our rent is £433 a month, council tax £94, which we are behind with, due to clear arrears next month.
Can i claim working tax along, although living with a partner?
Very worried as my job is seasonal and will end in September.
Look forward to hearing some advice.
