  1. right a futher update , barcalys have asked me to restart the payment agreement with them which was for a token payment , are they still likely to take money now i have made an agreement? also co-op have turned me down for an account , where else can i get a basic account from?
  2. hi i currently bank with barclays after transfering from the woolwich(also barclays) and have done for about 2 1/2 years , i have a barclaycard debt which is about 5 years old and for about 15 k , they have just started writing to me about the debt and i am going to try to negotiate a token payment as we are living on benefits and basically cannot afford anything more.My question is being as the current account is a joint account and the the debt is a sole one can they still take money from the current account to cover the debt? The account never has anymore than living expenses in it no more than around £400 to cover bills with nothing left over and i have been led to believe that they should not touch living money , being as they have had 2 1/2 years to do it how likely is it that they will now? ps. i have applied for an account at the co-op just to fall back on if it hits the fan
  3. i will take the other agreement further but is my agreement enforcable?
  4. no exactly as above along with someone elses agreement!
  5. hi asked yesterday if this is enforcable but got no reply , they also sent me (advancis) someone elses cca for another debt with all of there personal details on should i report this to someone for data protection
  6. recieve a letter from them this morning with a copy of this , is this correct and enfocable , they also sent with it a copy of someone elses loan agreement for a car that has nothing to do with me talk about sloppy
  7. we had the same problem where they claimed that even though my wages were the same they were penalising me for not informing them i had changed employer.I had actually told them that i had changed so i asked them for a copy of the the phone calls i had made to them , suprise suprise they removed the overpayment. But i am led to believe that can actually penalise you for not telling them or so they told me , but that is only what i was told by them
  8. sent the letter as mentioned by scarlet and i have this morning received an identical responce as the first time "unfortunately we have been unsuccessful in contacting you by telephone please phone us so we can conclude this matter" . So where do i take this from now as it seems obvious they have no cca , but keep writing asking me to contact them thanks
  9. we have rented our property for seven years from a private landlord and we are currently decorating , would it be reasonable to ask our landlord to pay for materials? , as there has been no re-decorating in the seven years we have been here. Also the same question for the carpets should the landlord bear the cost of cleaning or replacing them?
  10. dont worry about the visit , provident did indeed send someone to visit me over a debt i owed them , "i cant pay you £500 " i said to the collector "are you refusing to pay" he said , "not refusing unable to pay" i said , he just walked away and that was the last i heard of him over 12 months ago he has less power than the milkman , at least the milkman has the right to be on my property
  11. in my experience it takes 24-48 hours for the bar to lift you'll get a text when it does
  12. i had a letter this morning for arrears of just over £100 on this years council tax , stating that they are taking me to court for a liability order which will add an extra £60 to the debt . The date for the court hearing is over 2 months away by then i will have been in a position to clear half of the debt. I feel it is unreasonable to charge me £60 costs for a debt which by the time of the court date will be around £50.Can i negotiate putting a hold on the court action if so how can i word the letter , many thanks
  13. thanks for the advice will get that sent off
  14. I asked for a CCA from Advantis for a debt they are chasing on behalf of the lewis group over a month ago, i recieved a response today saying "unfortunately we have been unsuccessful in contacting you by telephone please phone us so we can conclude this matter" Obviously im not going to phone them but how now should i proceed and what response should i give them in writing

  17. to make a long story short our local housing association will only allow us 2 bedrooms for 2 adults and 2 children , they say the children can share until they are 8.Both of the children have ailments that cause them to have disturbed sleep , our gp has written to the H.A. stating to them that the children should not share rooms because of this and asked them to give us a 3 bedroomed allowance , they have had a meeting and said no dissmissing the medical advice as they say they have a high demand for properties. Are they within their rights to do this?can i take it further?
