0901 numbers on talk talk bill
taz_in_2001 replied to danboy775's topic in Telecoms - mobile or fixed
Just went through all my talk talk bills and noticed the number 09016161101 x1 09016161102 x2 09016161104 x4 all called in the space of 1 minute for 4 seconds costing 30p, this was dec 06 There are loads all through my older bills up untill recent Thankyou all for bringing this up, I will be contacting them, I was wondering why my bills were always so high -
Not sure if this is posted in the correct place but here goes. I used google adwords back last year for my avon business but after a month or 2 I decided against it and quit using it in February. I received an email off them last week stating I owe nearly £30 in clicks from march 06, I haven't used it since february and after emailing that they changed their dates to February *convenient eh* so they are now collecting old debt My daily budgets were supposedly set at £10 which I would never do, thats £70 a week I haven't got that sort of money now and didn't have then, the highest I can ever remember it being is £1 a day I have emailed them asking for statements detailing every click etc in which I have been charged only to get back that they do not contact in writing, I then stated that I would take them to court and will win over harrasment charges then to be told they will pursue these charges against me if I do not pay within so and so days Where do I stand on this, this is over a year ago and I am adament I haven't accumilated that much in charges as even if I was using it still without my knowledge its £1 a day, which they are saying is £10 Thanks for your help in advance

Right to be moved??
taz_in_2001 replied to little lady's topic in Residential and Commercial lettings/Freehold issues
Personally I cannot see this information as being correct, all the flats both 1, 2 and 3 bedrooms around by me have open planned kitchens leading into the living room by a very big arch -
My housing association won't let us get our own buildings insurance so I can only get contents. My partner tripped over my son and cracked the 1st pane on the double glazing smallish kitchen window. If we were able to have our own buildings insurance then I could claim quite easily for this due to accidental damage but as we can't they will charge me for the repair which in their terms is double what a normal guy would charge. I haven't any money to pay for this to be fixed at the moment as I am struggling with debt and on VERY low income. Where do I stand on this on this issue, I am already trying to pay off a charge of £70 to have my front door fixed (2 screws put back in *shakes head* my ex kicked it through after an argument over the children, the police filed charges and I have a crime number but they still charged me for fixing it I am desperate, I have not told them about the window and they have a guy coming round soon checking the houses

Greasy palms (a cashback site)
taz_in_2001 replied to notsmilingyet's topic in General Consumer Issues
I have to admit I had no problems with greasypalm, I used to use them when you used to receive cash back from ebay it was great, I still use them every so often and I would say NO they don't rip you off well they haven't me in 4 years anyway -
My partner is an agency worker for the same agency company, been there for 3 years and in all fairness never had a problem well apart from one about time sheets but thats a different story. He applied for a 12 day holiday 3 months ago, filled out his holiday form and sent it in which they confirmed they had receieved by telephone. He has just ended his 12 day holiday only to find £81 pay in his bank account when he telephoned them to see what is going on as that was one days pay they replied with they hadn't recieved his holiday form. Now they say he has to fill in another one tomorrow and he will be payed friday on his usual pay day (weekly pay) but this is not on we have £81 to last us a week which is hectic this is bill week which loans and everything come out of the bank and now we haven't got the money to pay it so we will end up with charged which the agency should pay because its their fault we done our part. Is this legal for them to do this Thanks Someone please help

They are disgusting, They should be banned from operating, the amounts of charges etc they put on your account are disgusting and most definately not proportionate to their costs, then to go and do something like this to a person such as yourself is damn right awful as if you wasn't going through enough without them taking away evidence that could have lead to the thiefs -

The only time I have seen this is just now when I turned over the back of the statement. It must have come on the back of my first ever statement but I have no knowledge of being sent an agreement or signing one with them so it would have only been on my first statement which means I would have had no prior knowledge to that -

taz_in_2001 replied to taz_in_2001's topic in Mail order catalogues
Just read the back of a statement it says as follows: Service Charge This is the charge we make if you decide to pay by monthly installments. It is 2.6% (or 2% if you choose to pay by direct debit) of the balance brought forward from your last statement, together with a pro-rata service charge upon purchases added to your balance on your previous statement for the period between despatch of each item and the data of the previous statemtn. There is a minimum service charge of £1. Further information regarding calculation of service charge as applied to your account is available on request So basically they are punishing me for wanting to pay monthly so in a way they are wrong, its the same thing thats going on with companys like bt at the moment -

But surely with admin charges it is the same as the banks, you go overdrawn, not enough money in the account they charge you, this could stand for the catalogues aswell ? -

I'm not sure, I ordered items from them and since ordering the items I have had service charges so I am assuming its for statements every month, it just says service charge nothing else on the statement -
Hi All, Thanks for reading, I hope I put this in the right section. I am looking into claiming charges from this cat, I know I can claim for admin charges at £20 a pop but looking through my last years statements there are service charges on everyone ranging from £12 to £6 am I to include these aswell as they are down as charges ? Any help will be gratefully received Thanks Sarah

Hi all, Firstly thanks for reading First off since I moved into the housing association property in 2004 there has been constant problems Firstly big black damp problem next to my patio door, was told it was condensation and "to stop breathing to much" what a joke kicked up such a fuss that they eventually came and checked it out, it turned out to be a not properly fitted outside tap that had been leaking the whole time. Condensation runs down my windows even though the vents are open and the house does have good airings, my daughter and my sons bedrooms (4 years and 2 years) the windows are black with the stuff, try my best to clean it off but it just comes back the next night. There is an extractor fan in my dining room which has leaked and now caused damp but nothing has been done, oh tell a lie they put a vent on the outside of the house to dry it out which hasn't worked Now the biggest problem, two professional builders have told me I have rising damp on my living room wall, housing association are not having none of it, I have a guy out there now checking the ties which I know would have nothing to do with it as that would have started as soon as the house was built. Do I have any rights as I know living in a property like this can affect my long term health and my familys ? Any info gratefully appreciated Sarah x

Started out on the 21st Feb 2007 Got a letter requesting saying they were investigating, I waited 14 days then sent them the 2nd letter and got a reply asking us to wait until the 16th April 07 whilst they reviewed the case so I sent them this Dear Mr Langdale, LETTER BEFORE ACTION Re. Account number: ******** Your Reference: ********** I refer to default charges applied to my account amounting to £1776.58, which I have requested you pay back. I wrote to you on 13 February 2007, making the original request for a payment in settlement of my claim to which I received a letter dated the 19 March 2007 to assure me you were looking into things and requesting me to wait until 16 April 2007 at which you would have completed your investigations, I feel I have done this for long enough, In my opinion this is a ploy by yourself to stall me in my right to claiming back my unfair charges and as I deem your response unsatisfactory, I am writing to inform you I intend to claim the full amount, claimed together with interest up to the date of judgment and court fees plus any further charges to my account in the proceedings through the county court. This is based on the Unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts Regulations, as I believe these default charges are unfair and not proportionate to your costs, and therefore the county court will rule in my favour. I have attached a full schedule of the charges and interest with this document. I look forward for a full response to this letter within 14 days, otherwise I will commence court proceedings to reclaim my money. Yours sincerely, Received a letter this morning refunding £1259, the amount above was with added interest so I am cutting my losses and going for it Hope you all get on well with yours Sarah

Ebay Buyer - Help Needed Please *Anyone*
taz_in_2001 replied to taz_in_2001's topic in Online Stores
She gave me the number and it says undelivered so that matches her story, her feedback is 100%, the item was only £13 so not a great deal but every penny counts for me as i'm not in great employment and a full time mum
