  1. Rang the court and they have nothing on their file. The guy said they were a little behind and i should either wait until next week and try again or ask for a judgement to be entered. I dont really want to enter a judgement yet as they will probably ask for it to be set aside, I think I will call back on Monday and ask again. If anyone has any different veiws I would be glad to hear them. thanks. matt.
  2. Lloyds were supposed to acknowledge my claim by the 10th April but Ive heard nothing. Is it worth ringing the court to see if they have heard from them??
  3. Lloyds were supposed to acknowledge the claim by yesterday but ive heard nothing. the postman has just turned up and still nothing.
  4. I closed an account with lloyds a few years ago and had some charges to come out. I went to customer services to close the account and i had to pay what i was overdrawn plus the amount to cover pending charges before they would close it. so no you wont just be able to close it.
  5. Hi i am just subscribing to your thread hope you dont mind. Im also from worcester and im claiming against abbey and lloyds. Im about 3 weeks behind yoy with Abbey but about 2 weeks in front at lloyds as I am expecting an acknowledgement from them tomorrow . I know what you mean about the staff in abbey they always seem really stuck up and im glad you are giving them some stick back, i will look out for you handing leaflets outside abbey   . good luck. matt.
  6. yep bog standard stuff. once the 14 days have passed file at court. good luck
  7. Like everyone has said just read read read. When I 1st joined a read for about an hour a day for ages, i read the FAQs step by step and other peoples cases. you get all the basics and what you need to know from the step by step and you can pick up some really useful tips from other peoples threads and it can also be helpful to find someone else who is at a simalar stage to you and follow their progress. About the spreadsheets and stuff, like you i thought these could be a nightmare as i have never done a spreadsheet before but they really are easy enough to use as the sums are already set up in the cells for you. good luck with your claim and if you have any questions just post them and people will help you. matt
  8. from what ive read lately it seems that judge's are missing the AQ part out ton speed the cases up as the banks have no intent on actually defending. I think it is a good thing probably saves around 3-4 weeks.
  9. hi jen, thought i would pop by and take a look at your thread after you posted on mine and seem to be a few weeks ahead. good luck matt
  10. Received no response to my prelim not even a you must be kidding letter so LBA going tomorrow morning. i surprised i didnt get a fob off letter I know they received it as i sent it recorded delivery.I sent it to trinton square and thought they would forward it on to whatever dept they wanted to maybe they couldnt be bothered
  11. received letter from courts this morning and it was deemed served on 25th march
  12. yes add it it your claim no need to send another LBA its only after you have filed for court it becomes more differcult to change the amount
  13. yeah it seems as though lloyds have stopped the facility to check statemens online. they stop at nothing dont they
  14. you can add the latest charges on to your lba and upto when you file at court
  15. still havent heard anything from the courts or lloyds yet and its been 10 days is this normal???
  16. hi sitcom it appears you are going fine at the moment. everyone is nervous about the possiblity of going to court but the truth is that you are highly unlikely to see the inside of the court room although you will have to go and file a claim at court or on MCOL. the court fee will be £120 for the amount you are claiming. lloyds do not normally close accounts after the 1st claim. as far as the as the OD is concerned i dont think they will just remove it. I have a claim going on against lloyds and my OD is nearly £2500. set up a parachute account just incase so if they do withdraw your daughter has another account to put wages etc into
  17. David i too had an old account with lloyds I just went into a branch and told them i had a new account could they give me the details and they did.
  18. I should imagine you can just go into a branch and find out that what i did with an old lloyds one i used to have
  19. postal order will be fine although if you could send a cheque you will know when they cash it. the 40 days is from your inital request. In all fairness to abbey they sent all my data within 40 days and i had a simalar letter to you. i think i received statements in 9 days then microfiche about 3 weeks after that. about the default, i am requesting they remove a default as i owe them about £900they ome me £3.5k. good luck matt
  20. you can add the charges on upto when you file at court. once you file at court i think if you wanted to change the amount it costs £35. When you do file at court send an upto schedule of charges with the latest charges on there. good luck. matt
  21. Keith, thanks once again for your help with this like I said before it is very much appreciated. we will certainly look into this and contact the bank.
  22. hi keith, thanks for your speedy reply. the bank in question is lloyds and yes the premium was added to the loan to give a new total. The sales person went through the t&c's and no as far as I remember we were not told about the 30 day period. It was basically yes you can have the loan but MUST have the insurance. like i said we agreed because we needed the loan and tyhen the guy put the papers in front of my wife and she signed. I appreciate that it is not as straightforward as bank charges as like i said we have no written proof. From what I have read Im sure we shouldve been able to cancel the policy when she requsted. once again thanks for taking the time to look and reply keith it is appreciated as i have no idea whatsoever where we stand. TBH i think we would be happy if we could just cancel the remainder of the insurance as £56 on top of our payments each month is alot as with this our payments are £335+
  23. Im sure that this has probably been asked several times but im sure that weve been done over with this PPI. Im currently claiming back bank charges but thought I woulod have a look at this section while i was browsing around the site. My wife took out an unsercured loan a few years ago for £17k with the PPi added it totaled £21k+. I went along with my wife to agree the loan and at the time we were told we could only have the loan if we took out the loan protection because it was such a large amount. We didnt argue (or know ant different for that matter) as we needed the loan. after a few years my wife got made redundant she was also pregnant they paid out redundancy and maternaty pay. this was in the Feb we did not try to claim on the PPI until the July, as this was when she wouldve returned to work. We were told by the bank that we could not claim until Sept again we tried then but to no avail. My wife started a new job in the Oct so we decided not to bother claiming back while she wasnt working and that we would just cancel the insurance as the PPI alone was £56 per month. When we phoned to cancel she was told that she can not cancel it as she had a "30 day cooling off period" at the start of her loan to cancel it and now she has to pay it for the life of the loan. This was 2 years ago now. We know the name of the individual who (mis)sold us the loan but obviously we have no wriiten proof of this and the individual has left the company. sorry to go on a bit but after reading some info and some posts it seems that we have been screwed. Any ideas or advice on what we could do next, if anything. thanks.matt
  24. filed for court yesterday and it felt good. thanks to everyone so far for the advice and im sure i will be asking again in the coming weeks. good luck all. matt
