HI to all on here. this is my 1st post & could do with a little advice. I'm acting on behalf of my mother trying to reclaim charges from the Clydesdale bank, total 988.08 (incl int) we sent the 1st letter on 31st Oct & received a reply a week later.

In it, the bank basically say that it's her fault for not being able to manage her account properly & that they're not paying up. they also add, at the end, that the bank "reserves the right to lodge a counterclaim against you for damages suffered as a result of the breach by you of your contract with the bank" they also say if they hear no reply after 8 weeks they will "consider the complaint closed"

 

I believe that about 50% of banks will do this so, will our next move be to issue the 2nd letter?

if you write counterclaim in the search section of the site just above this post you will find other members have had this reply.

 

Make your self a thread in the Clydesdale section to get the best advice form other members.
