Just a quick query, I filed a court claim against Halifax and they've agreed to settle but since I filed the claim I have accrued another £290 in bank charges. The claim took over 2 weeks to get served. I've spoke to their customer relations department and they will not refund anything after my court claim was filed and said I will have to make another claim but they can close my account if I do this. I have a current account with them and do not want to lose this and cannot open another current account anywhere else, only basic accounts. Any advice appreciated

Not seen it, but if you are worried, open a parachute account first - I did this. They are being advised not to close by the Banking Code as it would be seen as retaliatory.
