Hi

It is a very long time since i last appeared on here.

Quick question .....Is it correct that Nationwide can now charge £30 "interest" without sending you letters nor advising 1 month in advance on the statements ?

Can they do this ?

Love me xx

Hell no that's not right. What happens is on your statement there is a notification of charges (usually at the bottom of the second sheet if memory serves) saying the charges will be debited in 28 days time.

Even if you opt for paperless billing if there are charges and/or interest they HAVE TO send you a paper bill.

If you did not recieve the statement then, when I was there, the policy was that the balance of probability sits with the customer. This is worth kicking up a fuss about as I imagine a chrage you weren't notified about could generate further charges etc etc.

Is there any reason why you might not have recieved the info? Have you changed your address?

If you got your statement it should be in there. The £30 is the charge, interest would be pennies.

The views I express here are mere speculation based on my experience. I am not qualified nor insured to give legal advice and any action you take will be at your own risk.
