  1. There is a crucial point here which everyone so far has failed to pick up on, firstly yellowplum says they were NOT DRIVING!!!!!! Then they go on to say QUOTE ( I AM ALSO TRYING TO FIND OUT WHETHER THE AREA ( I ) PARKED IN HAD SIGNS TO STIPULATE IT WAS A CONTROLLED ZONE OR NOT ) Im sorry but this tells me that the poster was driving and is now just trying to wriggle out of it, Their typing not mine, so my opinion is pay it and stop trying to wriggle out of it!!!!
  2. Firstly, have you signed a walk in pocession form??? If you have not then dont worry atall just make sure you keep your house secure when your at work, if you have signed one then technically they have the right to come in, however forced entry in general is not an option although in certain circumstances locksmiths can be called, but let me assure you this does not generally happen if no-one is home neither for that matter have i ever seen it done and i have been a bailiff for a while now. Peaceful entry is generally the preferred method, but i clearly cant speak for all bailiffs nor bailiff companies, but in my experience i have never seen it done yet!!!! I hope this helps.
  3. To be perfectly honest as harsh as it sounds i would say pay up, i appreciate the car may have only been there for a short period however by your own admission it was there and untaxed, let this be an expensive reminder to you not to forget it next time.
  4. I have already donated about a week ago, however i still get that request for donation on my profile, whys this please????
  5. Please note nowhere in my post did i say it gives the bailiff the right to force entry!!!!
  6. Unfortunately the bailiff will have a warrant of execution issued by normally Northampton county court, thus not giving you a great deal to defend, however having said that those fees are well and truly extortionate and the very most i would expect 1 parking ticket to ever get up to at the maximum is about £370 ish give or take a tenner so i would think you would have a case for unfair fees here!!
  7. I never said bailiff fees are a priority debt, i said QUOTE ( priority debts ) did not mention the bailiff fees, and if as you say Prison is most unlikely, I can personally assure you that our warrant officers are very active in certain parts of the Westcountry at least and have arrested several lately! Anyway i dont wish to get personal either as i feel we just need to hear it from the bailiffs perspective from time to time, As i say to all that have the misfortune of coming across me, its not personal its just a job. I will always try and give sound advice too and if it means a bailiff is in the wrong then so be it and i would back the person whom has been wronged to the hilt.
  8. To be perfectly honest here i thought when i read the first couple of paragraphs here that you could actually make some kind of sense, then i read your last couple of ramblings and realised that perhaps i had better not listen to your ramblings, afterall thats what i made of the last paragraph for sure!! I am not totally against people having a life however priority debts are priority debts and in the past when times have been hard for me too i have had to tighten the belt until such times as things are better and YES i do expect others to do the same too!!!
  9. Indeed this would be my stance too, surely it would be far more helpful of them and yes £2 a year although i still suspect it to be more would still be more beneficial going towards priority debts!! I know this sounds harsh and believe you me i was there once but this is fact of life im afraid.
  10. This is obsurd, if the letters were delivered at the same time then even at van call stage cost of £150 mamimum you can only legally charge one van call on one case as THEY have not turned up with 2 vans, if on the other hand 2 vans turn up then a van call can be charged for both cases, however this is MOST UNLIKELY, fill in form 4 which im sure Wwow will be along shortly to help you with.
  11. However as you are the landlord and not the tennant its basicly totally irrelevant!!!
  12. Hummm this sounds to me like a committal letter which is basicly the 5th stage along, let me explain the structure 1 letter from bailiffs outlining liability from Council 2 first visit from bailiff 3 second visit from bailiff 4 van call 5 comittal IF this is the case then the fees are still wrong, the very maximum should be £278.50, write to them asking for a breakdown of their fee structure!!!
  13. On the letter that this lady delivered it would state amount of debt before fees added or at least it should do!!!!! This will tell you the amount of fees added and on a first visit it should only be £24.50 assuming that is that its deffo only a first visit???
  14. I think you have sussed what i meant by your reply and can i just assure you that i neither work for Drakes nor Equita, however i do have to agree with most of the sentiments in your post
  15. If the bailiff was reasonable he/she would accept £5 per week, this is exactly what i would do and you could even have an unsecured arrangement, so long as you stuck to that then no problems, perhaps you could suggest this to the bailiffs, this is the way i deal with people on income support or JSA and to be fair they generally pay as i have been reasonable with them.
  16. And what would you suggest as an alternative then???? Also i would add that im only 5ft 10 and in no way a thug as you seem to generalise, in fact i have letters at my company that say quite the opposite and most people are quite happy to deal with me as im a fair guy, however i wont sympathise with wont pay , the same as i dont sympathise with people that choose to smoke but cant pay their council tax or other debts, for the record i hate the council tax too, however its a fact of life unfortunately. I hope this clarifies a few things for you .
  17. There you have it, you smoke and you can afford to do that!!!! Sorry but to smoke it MUST cost you something, this is about priorities, i see it all day every day, people claiming poverty but will they give up their fags or baccie???????? Not on my nellie, sorry but no sympathy from here im afraid!!!!!
  18. An attending to remove fee is normally £146.88 this is made up of £125 van call fee and vat at 17.5% which equalls £146.88 i hope this clarifies the fee for you WOWW
