  1. tbern That's a corking Email; Just hope it gets you a bit further.
  2. I take it you've still not received it. I'm about to tell wescot to shove the debt where the sun don't shine; Have you?
  3. Wescot; They have not complied with my CCA request, originally made 9/2/2007
  4. After weeks of trying (since 9/2 to be exact), Wescot still has not provided me with the CCA. I now want to tell them (politely, eh!) of course, to shove the debt where the sun don't shine. I've followed the procedure as laid down in this thread to the letter but they can't bother their ar*e. Can anyone advise on a final letter to send them. I've already informed them that they are to be reported to the appropriate authorities but it's my personal satisfaction of a debt written off (even for the time being) that I'm after. I do have a feeling however that they might come up with a "constructed" agreement, hence the stalling.
  5. Just starting a claim today from barcs for my daughter in law and ended up on this thread, and bloody good it is too! Is it worth sending the prelim. letter to Crysta by Email?
  6. Although I've sorted fred. out now, they had threatened me with bryan carter just a couple of weeks ago; cheeky t**ts. Defunct company taking me to court, bog off.
  7. I've been reading and using these threads for quite a while now and it's fair to say I've used PB's info. This man is very knowledgeable. Please don't bring any nastiness into the discussions.
  8. Received letter from Fredrickson advising that they will not be persuing the debt any longer. They did not supply the CCA and I don't know if Capital One is following up. I have requested the CCA from Crap1 but my gut feeling is they don't have a one.
  9. I like the bit about the wife leaving (ow! only kidding pet).
  10. We've had the charges back and now waiting to see if Crap1 come up with the CCA; they are still within the time limits. Perhaps I might just go for write off anyway as it is obvious that Fredrickson didn't have the CCA and I would imagine C1 didn't instruct them not to chase up for no reason. Crap1 probably doesn't have a CCA
  11. You could have originally acknowledged the debt but not made a payment for six years. If that's the case, then you can't be persued.
  12. This is the letter I received Image of Fred1 - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
  13. Just received letter from Fredrickson. They've been instructed to take no further action. That's them off my son's back (apart from getting back and confirming that any defaults they put on have been removed) but I still have to deal with Crap1. As yet, the CCA hasn't been supplied; with any luck, they'll not be able to find it. Outstanding balance is only a ton anyway taking account of charges.

  15. I think Consumer Direct might be wrong on this one. Perhaps they should read this thread and enlighten the staff!
  16. They did the same with me; threatened bryan carter (their in house sols). I just wrote back saying that while the account is in dispute they can take no further action. Heard nothing for a fortnight now.
  17. I've had a couple of ex-gratia book of stamps so far and I am due to go back to Royal Mail with another complaint of a missing RD. Royal Mail of course states that it takes "missing RD's very seriously" (aye, in their dreams) and will call in security; as if. More stamp books for me I guess but I think I'll do things your way and get proof of posting! Ian
  18. So if we don't make it on to page 1, we are strictly speaking, wasting our £1.04! Well isn't that just fine and dandy.
  19. This is the address I used for Shop Direct. It wasn't answered and the Recorded Delivery seems to have "disappeared"; I'm currently investigating.
  20. Cheers. Lloyds have been the easiest (for us anyway) to deal with. Refund for us off Black Horse and now the refund to David; it's a pity others aren't so accommadating. Two down, a couple or so to go. Ian
  21. Received a letter earlier today. LloydsTSB have settled up with David. he is in Florida at the moment and knows nothing about the "success", although it is only partial. I've did all the hard work while he will reap the benefits (is that parents are really for). However, with the expense of his wedding (he did manage to pay a little) and his holiday, he told me to settle for as much as I could get; he wasn't really bothered about the full amount. I'll keep it to myself until he comes back next Saturday but he has got a settlement of about £50 less than I asked for. In the words of those football greats, he will be over the moon. Ian
  22. Liz This is not unique. I have had a few instances like this with Fredrickson (twice), Logic Plc and Shop Direct. After complaining to the Royal Mail, I have so far, received two books of first class stamps as a "sorry, we can't find your recorded delivery letters". It's not them, it's the posties not doing their job properly!! Ian
