  1. Start by reading and rereading Frequently Asked Questions I think everyone when starting a claim is nervous, but I've found the more you read the more you understand and the better you feel about taking each step. There is always help and advice on here. Purple X
  2. Received a letter from Equita today. I can confirm that I have been passed your recent communication with our office. I intend to carry out an investigation in to the issues that you have raised and I will report back to you within the course of the next fourteen days. I trust that this satisfactory I wonder what their investigation will turn up. Whats the betting that it's nothing in my favour? Purple X:)
  3. LBA sent today. This is the most fun i've had with my clothes on for ages:eek: . Purple X
  4. LBA posted today. So lets see what this brings Purple X:)
  5. Just a quick update, sent an e-mail to Equita asking if they could give me a break down of the bailiffs fees and asking what the enforcement fee was for. All I got back was: Sorry for the delay in reply to your recent emails. All our fees are calculated as per The council tax (Administration and Enforcement) (Amendment) (No.2) (England) Regulations 2003 act. The details of these can be obtained from your local library or via the internet. Kind Regards Jane. Me thinks they don't want to tell me:confused: What would be the best thing for me to do? I'm thinking of sending an SAR Anyone got any advice Thanks Purple X:)
  6. Hope this helps http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/general/13832-do-you-need-parachute.html Purple X
  7. Hi, I also had the same problem with a LTSB account that had been closed for a few years. So I went to my local branch with some ID and asked for the account number. It was that easy. Good Luck hope it works for you Purple X:)
  8. Don't think your prying at all, thats what this site is all about sharing info and helping each other out. On the Lloyds TSB account yes, because the charges were from 2001 to 2002 with the Halifax not so much so as the charges are more recent. Purple X:)
  9. Every morning when I've seen the kids off to school, I run round getting all my jobs done (the boring stuff like washing, cleaning etc) Then My best friend, neighbour and partner in our reclaim mission Kizzyella sit either at her or my kitchen table with a cuppa and wait for the postman. I've found it's good to have a friend who is also claiming. We're at the same stage, so we talk alot about what threads we have read and compare notes and just help each other out. Purple X
  10. Hi Hayleytin, I also hand delivered my prelim letter to Halifax, the casher went off to fetch the manager at which point my legs shook (but in my head I was thinking, well I'm doing nothing wrong, only asking for what is mine) don't let them make you feel uncomfortable, their no better than you. The more you read on this site the better you will feel about each step. There's a lot of us in the same boat, so don't think your the only one Purple X
  11. Morning all, 14days up on Wednesday:D (woohoo) so today been getting my LBA sorted. It's printed along with schedule of charges in the envelope ready to go. Even updated my threads (god i'm on it this morning) (It's great to be organised for once) Purple X
  12. Morning all, 14days up on Wednesday:D (woohoo) so today been getting my LBA sorted. It's printed along with schedule of charges in the envelope ready to go. (It's great to be organised for once) Purple X
  13. Yep I'll second that Purple X
  14. The way I look at it is. That I have nothing to lose by trying. The money they have taken in charges is already lost to me, so even if I just end up getting that back it would be great anything more is a bonus. (They've done it to us for years) now the worm as turned:eek: Purple X
  15. Me personally, with the Halifax would just like it settled ASAP, but I am also claiming back charges from the Lloyds TSB and if that goes to court then I would happily stand up and state my case, it feels more personal against them. They made my life hell. The Bank That Likes To Say YES (MY A*@*) Purple X
  16. Ok the statements arrived yesterday, showing some of the payments I made but some are still missing. So I will be looking in to that, also at the top it states Bailiff Fee £ 50.00 Enforcement Fee £70.00 Card Fee £25.79 Can anyone tell me what the Enforcement Fee might be? A bailiff as never entered the house, and I am sure most of my dealings with them were via post. i.e. They sent a letter so I rang and made an arrangement. Thanks Purple X
  17. Here you go. I saved it to favorites, so i would not forget where it was. http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/general/13832-do-you-need-parachute.html Purple X
  18. Hi sorry to jump in but dose anyone know what an Enforcement Fee is? I've had a look at fees that can be charged by baliffs but not see this one anywhere. Thanks Purple X
  19. I would stick to the advice on here, Not sure what else to tell you. As mine is council tax not parking fines. Sorry that I could not be any more help:cry: If I do read anything on here that might help then I will let you know. Purple X
  20. Received an email today from Equita, "Oh the missing payments are for another account you had with us, I'm looking into it , and will send out the statements today." (or dose that mean they will make some up?) So not being the most trusting of people I rang the council, and asked if they could please send me statements of payments made to them. Also when I defaulted and it was sent to Equita what the balance was. Lets see what this turns up. Purple X
  21. Halifax seem to have gone very quiet since my last letter stating that I'm claiming compound contractual interest:confused: . Oh well just need to wait a few more days before I send the LBA, see if that gets things moving. Purple X:)
  22. Received standard response from Lloyds TSB today. (Sorry your not happy. We will get back to you with in 2 weeks blar blar blar). I wont hold my breath Does anyone else sit and wait to see what the postman brings? Purple X
  23. just an up date on this. I rang equita to find out Ref No's. A nice lady:wink: there helped me out. I also asked her if she could send me any form of statements. She said I would have to go online and send an email which I did. This was the response "Thankyou for your email. I have arranged for statements of your accounts to be sent out tonight. Kind regards Jane SXXXX." They arrived a few days later, but some thing just did not add up. I know I was paying them every month for a while, but the statements she had sent me seemed a little hit and miss. So already having all the statements for the last 4 years from the Halifax (he he) went through them with a fine tooth comb and guess what? yep you've got it I've made around £600.00 more in payments than are showing on the statements form equita. Now in email contact with them. Just sent copies of my statements. Lets see what happens. Purple
  24. I've done the same thing, but i had only sent out my Prelim letter so sent another one just to cover my back. See my thread here http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/halifax-bank/31105-purple-halifax-post272272.html#post272272 Purple:)
