  1. having just watched Moron Brown take on the ruling he seems to be on the consumers side, he mentions the FSA bill in the house of lords now and talks of class action against banks involving groups of customers taking banks to court, my first reaction is when this bill comes about why don't CAG have a class action against the banks?

I thought the same. Cash would be the issue I think.

Donation time...and I'm up for that if they did!

  2. I just wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Bankers are the most virulent strain of evil known to man, and you are to be commended in demonstrating the feelings of a nation, not that they'll take any notice whilst sipping their Cristal complete with stray wavering little finger.

I, however, will be toasting your ad over a pint of frosty Strongbow this weekend.

    Regards

    Sent. :D

  3. Jaysus, that was quick. I actually sent the SAR on the 12th, and they had it done by the 16th.

I've not really ingested much of this, but I'm posting up the relevant bits in the hope I get some feedback. :D

I don't suppose they should give a total figure here? PPI + car finance? Admin fee of £150 for what? half an hours staff time? This means sawd all to me anyway, but would like it if someone that understands these things can see any irregularities. Is that interest on PPI?

    The dates don't match?

First sight of the actual balance that I never saw then. I don't understand all the changing figures...though I did miss a couple of months, I think, and double up.

I didn't think the settlement figure was so high, glad it was more than the car was worth when I bought it.

Empty proposal form for something I was paying for that I never wanted. Signed on page one though.

Any suggestions welcomed - anything, good or bad - beg beg, I'd love to screw 'em.

There was loads more thoughts I was going to add, but my peanut is addled. Only took 6 hours to work out how scan with a broken scan button, convert from tif to jpeg and all that goes with a PC that is crawling. :D

I've edited some bits out, though it's obvious who I am to them!

  4. I do think there will be negotiated settlement here. My prediction;

    1. OFT win this part of the test case.

    2. "Fair" level of fee is fudged by the banks and OFT at £5

    3. Automatic refunds issued for the original charge less £5

I'm so befuddled with all this now, I loathe being dippy! Just to ask (If not already mentioned - I only skim read) If the fee was any less than £12, then the OFT would have to change the CC threshold for intervention as well (headache for OFT - that they will have thought about in advance?)

As the Banks are already floating around new much lower fees in various guises, they CC fee would have to follow right? What am I missing? Surely peoples 'errant ways' with current accounts etc is no different in terms of their well appreciated slap, penalty service?
