  1. Yeah - every religion has bad people, because the world has bad people. Some of these people believe in a religion - therefore every relgion has bad people. Point being the religion bit has no relevence.

No need to be sorry DD, but thanks, I just hate all religions because they are pathetic - all designed to have someone to share their fears with. I just choose friends or the bus driver because of their tangibility. I am unlikely to father a child (!) but I know I'd never corrupt a child's brain with nonsense. It's easier not to preach delusion than go ar*e about t*t undoing it.

Did you watch the video, DD?

  2. We seems to be the most over-regulated society in the Western World and I wouldn't be surprised to find that we are more regulated than a lot of so-called dictatorships.

As a total aside, I always thought that we only had pretend regulation (mostly). I think we need more of it and improvements in existing regulation. The only regulator I've noticed that actually works is the Advertising Standards Authority (nothing in that for government - which is why I feel it works)

Private business is increasingly up to no good (for me) and I think the government, at times, is fully aware of the revenue and this dictates that the regulation is purposefully not effective in what it is supposed to suppress. Maybe I'm too cynical, but the OFT are a waste of space!

  3. I'll be honest - I am sickened by religion. It caused me teenage havoc that was pure evil, but that's neither here nor there - just explains why I hate it so. Religion was forced on me and I resent it. If I weren't gay, they may have got away with it, but they know (them Catholics in this instance) that they will not accept me - like I care. I mean it was so harsh I had to find out why they were talking so much cr*p, and I might have bought it if it wasn't for obviouis hypocritical lies. Yes lies! Sick people.

Just so you know, they do not like it...no matter what you may believe. Forget what I will go on to link to, just know they won't (and maybe you don't either). Anyway, the pope needs to be removed from the Vatican and sent to a hot place only he and some believe in. Yes, I don't! And he is a monster. Yep, I'm too mad with those idiots to care about being reasoned! I'm also mad he sent a memo telling his pervs that it should be kept secret until they are adults. Source was TV, though I'll bet it was fact. I wasn't clear...I meant his issuance of a memo telling his mob that any allegations of child abuse/rape should be covered up until they are young adults as it's not good news for Catholicism

A little (and I mean a little) research soon liberated me from the evil sh*t. (No, it's not that I wasn't shown the light - it's just complete ar*e fodder[research again very handy]). I also love the golden rule that those that preach religion, often have absolutely no clue of it whilst telling silly athiests to behave. Sad. Glad I moved past agnostic.

I am thankful for the internet for that liberation through exposure; something that is the reserve of modernity, for me. I'm lucky. Imagine being trapped in a world with only corrupt, bent communication when dealing with these hooky f***s!

I'm so glad those years of anguish are behind me. There is NO excuse for indoctrination, unless you accept that you will, dangnabit, force people to believe - and clearly that's bad - those that do it are blinded by the same evil. I realise that people don't see it - but I sure wish they would. I realise that it, though horrific, is because the indoctrinated through no fault of their own (potentially) suffered an indoctrinator. What a b*tch! and it goes on and on until someone stops believing in the gods (I don't know which one).

I was about to go further here but I better not...but could I ask, anyone who believes or not that they watch this debate, because I'd like to come back to it.

Anne Widdecombe fans look away... Steven Fry fans (me) look on. No really, it's a very fair debate.

  5. I'm not going to comment on the nature of that thread, what was said and who was and right or wrong, as what do I know. However, I feel justified in knowing that something that was said about somebody was not right.

Personally, I'd like to thank the 'vinegar' lady for all she has done on these forums, and she has done so much for me. The same lady who has worked tirelessly on here writing letters for the use of the community (templates) and whom might just write a hum-dinger on the spot for a poster in need. Also, I might mention the 20,000+ posts displaying selflessness, empathy, sympathy, well-reasoned advice and support in helping more members than I can count.

It's not even arguable to state that Bookie was here from the start and helped to, with many others, make CAG what it is. To call her a name like that and infer that she is somehow against, or being somehow unhelpful, towards the forum is bonkers. DD, please don't feel the need to compare forums to illustrate a very badly made point.

Bookie, IMO, does come across a little strong at times! but it is not her intention to belittle (or whatever was said) - she just cuts to the chase because she is focused and let's face it - she knows her apples!!! (and that doesn't mean she thinks she's a know-it-all either -not that anyone is suggesting that). Sarcasm? Well, I can't live without it so no comment - though this post is free of it.

I think that emotion is often lost on here because, even with emoitcons, not all things translate well. I know only a small handful of people know what I'm really like, and admittedly, I was a bit scared of the worm until I met her, but she's the nicest person you could ever hope to meet. I am sure the same is true of the other contributers who I don't know and I'm not saying anything bad about them for that same reason.

If anyone thinks I have a 'brown tongue' then sobeit, but I know her quite well and know she doesn't deserve this.

I also think that the truth can sometimes be stern, but be viewed as being horrible - when it's not. I have been offended in the past, and taken things personally, when I should not have.

I am not attacking you either, DD.

  6. I turned up a day late at Girona once and Ryanair wouldn't accept my argument that 'our bums on a seat today are the same as our bums on a seat yesterday' LOL. Can't blame 'em for that. Thing is had to stay in ruddy Lloret de Mar for another 3 days in a hotel that catered for the Spanish grey euro as it was out of season...saved money by waiting 3 more days though!

Not the first time I've turned up a day late either *must not get so trollied on hols* :D

Standby is one way of putting it, Allwood, they know now that this policy makes them more money - in the good old days we could turn up at the airport and get a good deal!

I have booked two return journeys before now in case one goes t*ts up (as long as they were Ryanair and cost a penny)

  7. http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/getting-out-debt/223907-final-settlement-offers-advice.html

Read threads of a similar nature and bear in mind RW only paid like £20 ish for the 'debt' which still could be loaded with fees. If you have a clear period of not acknowleding the debt now we know there is no payments, then it is statute barred and you owe them nothing. This is any clear 6 year period without acknowledgement or payment - the fact you called does not undo that - it is barred at law. I'd send the statute barred letter (well, I'd ignore the clowns but each to their own)

If you feel you owe something then research this F+F route and be sure to negotiate that on your terms using the fact they can never collect - the bottom feeders know this.

  8. No, but they have retained paid air passenger duty when it was not incurred (I never made the flight - so they didn't pay the APD). The swines, like others, charge an admin fee to issue the due refund which, funnily enough, is higher than the refund. There is no admin - it's just so they can keep your money.

Ryanair are so down on me though, I don't care anymore! My weight in kerosene does not cost 2p or £2 - which is just about the most I'll pay!

  9. Don't speak to these numpties on the phone, it is their tool to attempt to intimidate you with their guff. Keep everything in writing.

If it is the same next debt that defaulted in 2001, then as far as I am aware, they couldn't put a default on again in 2006 - just change the name of the owner of the debt to RW from Next. This could be to annoy you; an attempt to get you in contact with them - or a move to keep the alleged debt from becoming statute barred, which if you have paid or acknowledge from 2001 it certainly is. I meant not paid or acknowledged!!

That would mean you have no legal obligation to pay it as it can't be enforced (there is a very, very small chance - but not for £141 really and that probably includes fees they would never justify in any court) You really won't end up going there anyway.

If I were you I'd just ignore the cretins, but if you want to send a letter - send a statute barred letter in the library if it applies to you.

The credit agreement was first entered in 2001 and was last defaulted in 2006.

I have checked my experian report which doesn't mention anything of this debt in the latest report. It was on my 2007 report.

Thank you for your help, I am hopeless when it comes to these things!!!!

I'm a bit confused here - can you say when the last payment you made was, or the last time you communicated with them in a way which acknowledged the debt. If you have, and it was within 6 years, you can send a Consumer Credit Act request off to them for £1 to see if they have you agreement (pigs might fly) as they need this to enforce the debt. You could even send a Subject Access Request to Next to find out if any fees have been added and reclaim them (£10). Both these letters are in the debt forum here under templates. If it was rightfully defaulted in 2006 then it is not statute barred.

Your file is clear, so it's up to you if it's worth bothering with (If the debt is yours and you think this figure is all fees you might not want to bother) Though RW will pimp the debt to another DCA.

  11. Just things like only buying promotional fares...they come without online check-in charges. Know what free payment method they use, know hand luggage size restrictions and keep extras stuffed in pockets, a seperate carrier...wear extra things if need be. No proirity seating; there's always a seat. Eat before boarding the plane so there is no temptation to eat food with a 5000% mark up (guess) and I eat before going to the airport too, although MAN has a Greggs and I'm not that tight I won'y pay 52p for a sausage roll, lol.

Avoid giving them commissions by using hotel and car hire scrapers, and also never buy a ruddy gift certificate because they expire @ 6 months and they don't give change!! (paying for a £1 flight and using a £25 voucher?! - minimum denomination)

Just stuff like that really. Another one is to make sure you don't fall foul of any dodgy weighing machines and make you split weight across other people's luggage where possible (this usually involves moving womankinds extra weight to mankinds!!)

Just generally keep an eye on what they are planning and I always read their T&C's before booking incase they are trying something on. I can't stop now - also it has been alleged that Ryanair purposefully get people's salutation wrong and make purposeful errors with names. Whether that is the case or not I type out my details with paranoid precision and make sure the screen is still, computer not busy, and click submit once - double clicking makes Ryanair a fortune in their thoroughly annoying name change fees etc.

  12. A repeat, but on a similar theme....

A plane's cabin was being served by an obviously gay flight attendant who was just as obviously enjoying himself. He came swishing down the aisle and announced to the passengers, "Captain Marvey has asked me to announce that he'll be landing the big scary plane shortly, lovely people, so if you could just put up your trays, that would be fab."

On his trip back up the aisle, he noticed that a woman hadn't moved a muscle.

"Perhaps you didn't hear me over those big, noisey brute engines. I asked you to raise your tray-z-poo so that El Capitan can put us on the ground."

She calmly turned her head and said, "In my country, I am called a Princess. I take orders from no one." To which the flight attendant replied, without missing a beat, "Well, sweet-cheeks, in my country, I'm called a Queen, so I outrank you. Put the tray up, b*tch!"

  13. LMAO!!

I also love the bit where the camera pans to those 'celebs' and again in reference to that Cliff thing..... she was absolutely speechless, yet her face told a thousand words beginning with, I imagine, 'oh f***, where do I start with this t*t' - comedy gold but you need to watch her 1 second reaction to appreciate it!

  14. This really isn't one of my bah humbug posts. :p

This show is absolutely hilarious - right up my cul-de-sac. The narrator was great and his finest line was: 'I'd rather immerse my head in a bucket of Reindeer snot' in reference to avoiding listening to that unbelievably talentless waste of space - Cliff Richard.

Really - the people that actually buy into the retail spin that is Christmas will enjoy this too! Although the bah humbug crowd will really love watching a host of people take the michael out of the dumb event.

It is really well made and had me crying!! :p:D

    HNY to all! :D

  15. If I were you I'd send it to them. These idiots don't care that they have always communicated with you at your address, they are awful, tragic bent liars....that is the world we live in.

Send back your £10 and tell them to provide forthwith and quickly; but the most important thing is reporting them to the massively useless OFT (I know, I know, still worth it though)

I take it you know what awful bent, filthy liars MBNA are?!

I look forward to hearing of your success! Best thing is....Do not listen to their horrific, pathetic lies!!

  16. Oh - is that so....haven't been to the OFT thread today, but whatever the weather......Balls to the OFT. I don't feel bad anymore over the snotty email I sent to them (which of course they have not responded to) - and I don't care what they say they are PATHETIC. Of course the useless tools never got back to me.

What a game it is! Did anyone see that utterly useless mong on the telly? He was nothing short of a very bad liar, that is the world we live in!! Bond et al weren't any better, tragic in fact, but you can count on the policy makers to lie out of their skin!!! Jaysus.

I just bloody give up with this pathetic, useless, excuse for a country....it was once great. Now sh*t.
