  1. My dispute with Skills Train has been settled to the satisfaction of both parties.

    Now that my claim has been settled I am requesting that this thread is closed, that ALL my previous posts be deleted, and I shall not be responding further to ANY queries on this matter.

    Thank you.

  2. Oh deary deary me...Dave's Facebook status is thanking everybody (presumably for their good wishes) but stating that it is not his birthday...

    Anyone else have Dave as a Facebook friend, anyone else think it is his birthday because Facebook tells them so?

    The old adage holds true: there is no such thing as computer error, the computer only does what it is told to do. Somewhere, somehow, the computer has been told it is Dave's birthday...and it wasn't me Guv, honest!

  3. Week after next? Well, it would seem that HMRC are on strike on Mon 10th, so I may get an extended lunch hour, and on 12th, he who shall remain nameless is being 'interrogated' by the standards committee...I want to be on hand for any developments as they occur...

    Apart from that, any time is good for an oggie...as long that anytime is in my lunch hour...Crush? Over to you...

  4. Odd - I just woke up and read the email, and was a bit surprised. I clicked the link to the image of the letter/fax, and then tried logging in unsuccessfully...

    I tried Martin's link, and that seems to work, so I am also confused as to just what is going on. I tend to agree with Zooman, and believe this is a hoax, and for one simple reason: whenever Stephen sends an email, it is always full of atrocious spelling, grammar and punctuation (bless his cotton socks) but the one announcing the closure hardly turned a hair for me.

    In light of Zooman's theory, I looked again, and all I could find was ' copy of there fax for you to read' 'There'...yes, that would be a Stephen word, but it is the only such instance.

    I noticed also that the email address was spelt the same way as Stephen spells it, so whoever sent the email is trying to be like Stephen, but clearly they don't know him well enough. However, I just downloaded the email to Thunderbird anyway, just to have a look, and this is what I found:

    Return-Path:

    Received: from Paper Hat Creative | Home Page ([87.106.6.167])

    by mx.google.com with ESMTP id 4si1011284fgg.4.2008.10.27.18.05.03;

    Mon, 27 Oct 2008 18:05:04 -0700 (PDT)

    Received-SPF: neutral (google.com: 87.106.6.167 is neither permitted nor denied by best guess record for domain of [email protected]) client-ip=87.106.6.167;

    Authentication-Results: mx.google.com; spf=neutral (google.com: 87.106.6.167 is neither permitted nor denied by best guess record for domain of [email protected]) [email protected]

    Received: (qmail 10813 invoked by uid 48); 27 Oct 2008 23:48:36 +0000

    So, it wasn't sent by Stephen, but [email protected] - Paperhat Creative? I know paper hats can be funny, but I don't think this is very funny...
