  4. Hi All Update: I contacted the ulster bank customer relations dept by phone on 6 December. This was to remind them that the alloted time was up, i was told rather frostly that they had posted their reply and it would be forthcoming. The reply came on Sat morning and stated that charges are fair, reasonable and transparent etc so onward to the court stage. Unfortunately as it's christmas etc I will have to wait until the new year or at least January's paycheque BTW the latest letter was from E Fizpatrick (senior consultant) Stuart
  5. Hi Stonelaughter I have just re-read your post how come all your calls on talk talk are free? Surely you mean your calls to other talk talk customers are free? Stuart
  6. Glad to hear it stacey, if you like my advice then please click the scales at the bottom left hand corner as this is how we build a rep. Stuart
  7. Hi Stacey I would personally take them as you get them, because you can now start proceedings on what you have available, and can always have a second bite at the cherry. Stuart
  8. Hi Stacey As long as you can give the bank a list of addresses that you have lived at during the length of your acc there is no reason why they cant trace you. Let me know how you get on Stuart
  9. Thanks for the quick reply. Only one signature was required for any transaction. Is there any legislation or directives i should quote? Stuart
  10. Hi all you friendly BW's I recently asked for 6 yrs worth of charges on my now single current acc. My bank ( ulster bank) gave me three as prior to that it was a joint acc and to give me those statements would have been a breach of the data protection act would you believe. The acc was always mine and only opened as a joint acc so as to take advantage of a graduate offer as my ex was a graduate with her own acc at another bank. My question is this, is this correct? I do remember having to get my ex to write to the bank in order to get her name taken off the acc. Many thanks in advance Stuart
  11. a click on the scales is as good as a wink:wink:
  12. the claiment who lost on a technicality was lickthewallfatboy but he didn't actually lose he just had charges reduced to £12. You are right he is contesting result
  13. Hi All Just an info post. I have finally sent of my refusal letter by both snialmail and email so cant say they didn't get it. Just waiting until the 6th so i can add my interest (about £190) Stuart
  14. I register at court on the 6th so maybe we could have a jolly day out at the expense of ulster bank ?
  15. Well done buddy, but what are we gonna do for our jolly day out now? Stuart
  16. I have had a good will offer of 90 quid which i have accepted as part payment of monies owed. Surely as your name is on the joint acc you should be able to deal with anything without an authorisation letter? Stuart
  17. Why don't you go into the branch and try to access the acc manually by trying to lodge a fiver or something? If the bank takes your money then you'll know they are just stalling
  18. Hey Shovey I received my first letter from them in weeks today (although have had two phone calls) I must say though my statements came quite quickly about two weeks i think. Stuart
  19. I don't know if this will help but when i was renting with friends many years ago. We made it a condition of leaving that whoever left would be responsible for their portion of the rent until they could find someone to take over the remainder of the lease. All flatmates had to agree to the new tennant and any exsisting house rules stayed. Just a thought but did the agent not ask for a guarantor for all or each girl as it was their first time letting? HTH Stuart
  20. My wife and i started our mortgage with Northern Rock in Dec last year and i must say we have been very happy with the service we have received. I hadn't heard of them before we took out our morgage with them but i must say top marks. Stuart
  21. I forgot to say £90 still outstanding as yet Stuart
  22. I have finally had a response from the Ulster Bank. I received a letter this morning dated 22 November from N C Hassett (senior consultant). In the letter they state: We believe that our charges are fair, reasonable and transparent. We consider that the amounts debited to your account have been applied strictly in accordance with your agreement with us and our published tarif, which we are satisfied, complies with all applicable laws and regulations.etc etc Having considered all the points made in your letter, i am happy to inform you that i have refunded your account with £90 as a gesture of goodwill. However , i hope you will understand any charges that accrue in the future must stand. I have shortened the letter for posting but i think you can get the gist, although at no time do they mention that the offer of £90 is not an admission of liability, (which i thought was standard procedure) I will of course be sending a thanks for the 90 quid but you stiil owe me £1098.06 and i WILL go to court for it.... Sorry for the extra long post guys. Stuart
  23. Hi Micheal I dont think you can add stat int until at the court stage. hope i'm wrong cos then i will add it to my claim atb Stuart
  24. Hi Stacey Still no word. Ulster bank have 12 days and counting to answer my letter before action, and the bank manager Gerard Wilson hasn't contacted me this week. What about your case how's it going? To answer your query no interest on monies owed can be added until the court case has been started but you can calculate daily interest after that until it is resolved. HTH Stuart
  25. Hi Stacey You need to add up all irregular acc fees up untill about 18 months ago, i think it was ususally about £12 and since then it has been £30. In fact anything that has been charged to your acc is suspect. ATB Stuart
