  1. Thanks. What I'm trying to establish at Currys is whether, as a matter of fact, the refund is being processed or not. Once I know that it is being processed, I'll let the matter drop until a reasonable amount of time elapses before I get the money. I simply can't get hold of anyone at Currys by phone or email who will give me the information I want.
  2. Almost instant? I thought the Credit Card company had to put pressure on the vendor first and that could take ages before I get satisfaction
  3. Yes, I know the Credit Card company are liable - eventually. But in the meanwhile I've had to pay for a new fridge before getting the money back on the defective one we returned to Currys.. A fridge isn't something you can do without for longer than a day or two.
  4. @Haven Thanks. We returned the goods on 29 October. Paid by credit card. I can't get hold of anyone at Currys who will give me information about processing a refund.
  5. I'm having trouble getting a refund (for a defective domestic appliance) from Currys/Know How. The product was bought from Currys (online) but delivered and returned to the vendor by Know How. Currys Customer Services doesn't seem to exist. I have had contact, by email, with Know How, but I'm not sure whether it's their responsibility to deal with refunds. I've also wasted time and money on the phone and got nowhere. It looks like I shall have to go to the top and ask the CEO to sort out the problem. Can any member give me an up-to-date email address for Sebastian James, please?
  6. I have my own private ongoing battle with Currys which I'll get into another time. I think when contacting their "Customer Services" by email (which they never reply to), it's a good idea to send them a message every day and write," this is my second, third,......twentieth attempt to get you to sort out my problem". In this way you'll build up a written history of trying to go through the motions which might come in useful when you have to hit them with a lawsuit.
  7. Hello: I just checked in here a few minutes ago. I'm pleased to have found a website which has a serious purpose in the minefield of consumer affairs. For a long while I've had the opinion that consumers in this country are not particularly well protected against some unscrupulous practices in the world of "business" - despite what seem to be adequate laws. I hope to learn more (here) about safeguarding my rights and interests when dealing with firms that have a secret policy - if they can get away with it - of running rings around the Sale of Goods Act and suchlike legislation.
