  1. the account was opened in may 2000, i am now being told the following - I have received your e-mail and am reviewing due to the date mentioned. A&L were only regulated in the sale of Insurance products from 2001 - any advice please andy??
  2. thanks for your advice, i have now got to proove that the account number i have given them (mbna) did actually exist, even though a credit report clearly shows this, the only paperwork that shows the full account number is a confirmation of the direct debit set up to pay the account and a letter confirming the account is closed, both pieces of paperwork have the full account number on a alliance & leicester letter headed document, see where it goes from here now, really annoyed as they will clearly know i had the account with ppi on but making it very difficult to pursue this claim
  3. i was informed a SAR sent to santander would be sufficient and they would have to confirm all relevant details and information from the a&l account, i dont have any paperwork from this account any longer other than some letters confirming bank details and when i closed the account, so i guess they are going to beat me on this one, i knew it would be a tough one to do as a&l dont exist...
  4. hi there, i have completed the forms to register the complaint, sent to mbna as they were responsible for the credit card side of the business at the time i had the card, they replied stating i DID have ppi on the account when they took it over, however as they didnt sell it me they were not responsible, i then contacted santander who again confirmed ppi was on the account but needed further information, not knowing what they needed i wrote to them and heard nothing back, then i had a letter saying they had written to me 3 times (which they didnt) saying what they wanted and that i had failed to respond they were closing the case, i then submitted a SAR to them which they said they received but then lost the paperwork, i have since sent them another one which they have know returned telling me to contact alliance & leicester direct, who dont technically exist.??
  5. hi there, it looks like im being given the run around by alliance&leicester / MBNA / Santander or whoever they choose to be, i had a credit card with a&l from may2000 to 2009, with PPI on the account, mbna have confirmed this as they took over the credit card side of the business, however they say as they didnt sell me the policy i should contact santander, they to have confirmed i had ppi on the account, but have told me to contact mbna as it was there account at that time!!!! we have sent a SAR to both companies, and had both cheques returned..... now i am told i have to complain against a&l who dont exist... ????? help please......
