  1. Experian mis-sold CreditExpert, not ARC legal, therefore they are responsible for the consequences and I'm surprised the FOS has taken the stance you claim. As with PPI, the FOS has directed victims to the Banks who sold the product, not the insurers who stood behind them because it was the Banks who misled consumers. Experian will also be keeping a large element of the insurance premium as commission for selling it, so their sales force are heavily incentivised to sell and retain customers. They also use the insurance as a way to avoid VAT because insured products attracts VAT at lower rates, so they can keep more of the £14.99 fee. Insurance is simply a [problem] perpetrated by Experian to increase profits. The management at Experian are fully aware of the deception, and think because they are not regulated by the FCA, they are protected from investigation and the rules don't apply to them. Don't be fooled by the slick exterior, underneath its a greedy company out to make as much money as possible while the sun shines.
  2. Checkmyfile is just Call Credit and Equifax. It DOESN'T contain Experian's data so there will still be gaps. They're very clever about referring to Experian on their page because everyone know they have all the data, but if you look at the small print, they only have the lesser two CRA. see below from their site...... Compare accounts held at two agencies See a summary of your past and present financial commitments, such as credit cards, mortgages and mobile phone contracts, as shown on Callcredit and Equifax Credit Reports. Dig deeper into any of your credit accounts Click on any account to see really comprehensive details, as reported on your Callcredit and Equifax Credit Reports, enabling you to explore the balance, limit and repayment history.
  3. Noddle is free but there's too much data missing compared to Experian. also CHECK THE NODDLE SMALL PRINT!!!!!!!! it seems you're giving Call Credit permission to send your credit file to all sorts of organisations they work with. As they saying goes "there's no such thing as a free lunch"
  4. I've looked at my credit reports with all three CRA's and the only one which looks accurate was Experian. The others all had things missing, particularly Call Credit and less so with Equifax, but still gaps. Experian was complete and i had to call them to check a couple of things and they were really helpful, Call Credit and Equifax were both useless, and they got quite abusive when i explained they had things missing compared to Experian. The only problem with Experian is their on-line service is more expensive (Credit Expert), but seeing as the other two are incomplete i guess its still the cheapest option to see all my data.
