  3. It is a secured loan of originally 10k. I have been in arrears before but currently am up to date with payments. Last time I asked for a settlement figure was back in April and they said it would be £14487.

  5. Can anyone tell me the best way to pay off a Swift Advances Loan? Lump sum or increased payment? I don't want to give them a penny more than I have to! Thankyou in advance.

The above is from Churchbarn Autos website, Great customer service?? The way I have been spoken to when I have been trying to get from them what they promised is atrocious. Yes I have finally got the spare key after being told "you have had the car 3 months, you can manage without it the monday"( the original excuse being he didn't have the log book to order the key, how do you sell a car without a log book?) and "you got a parcel shelf out of it didn't you?". Shouldn't a car have a parcel shelf and 2 keys anyway? It seems they are eager to get your money and then the after sales care goes to pot. Good reputation?? Not if Brian speaks to all his customers like that. When I went to pick the key up, I got abuse from Brian ranting over he didn't have to get me a key etc. He sure knows how to get repeat business. The service from Mercedes garage was fantastic by contrast and kept me informed of everything.

Thanks for you reply but I dont understand the log book issue, you had the log book because I have just received it (although it is a present winging its way back to DVLA because it was in the wrong name) and it states previous owner as Autosave, so you must have had it at the time of purchase?
  8. We bought a car from Autosave on 11th Sept, they wanted paying by cheque because there was a new "manager" taking over and didn't want the money going into the "old account". I was told at the time they would get me a parcel shelf which would take a week for the car we purchased.......we are still waiting for it despite several phonecalls to them. As far as I'm concerned, the money for the car went into the new account..presumably Churchbarn autos so they should honour what they said when the car was bought. I also wanted 2 keys with the car as most do and I have been told that when there is only 1 key it is a way of getting more money out of you. I refuse to pay anymore as they got full asking price for the car. I'm totally disappointed with the company and will not be considering them again for future cars.
  9. I have asked Swift to refund me the excessive charges they have added to my loan over the past few years..over £2000.....they offered me £18! I declined their very kind offer! I am going to complain to the financial ombudsman...any one else had any luck?

  13. Hi, I asked for a SAR from Swift, they sent me a copy of the agreement! Wrote to them again and finally got a history printout detailing things from them, like a notepad type computer printout. But they refuse to give me a breakdown of charges as they are "not personal data"!!
  14. this is the letter I sent re SAR: Subject Access Request Dear Sir/Madam Please supply me with all data that you hold on me. This includes in particular, but is not limited to, the following:- 1. The original signed, executed credit agreement and any terms and conditions that applied to the account/s at the time of default and at the time the account was opened. 2. Where there has been any event in my account history over this period which has required manual intervention by any person, I require disclosure of any indication or notes which have either caused or resulted in that manual intervention, or other evidence of that manual intervention in relation to my account. 3. True copies of any notice of assignment and default notices or enforcement notice that you sent me, with a copy of any proof of postage that you hold. 4. Documents relating to any insurance added to the account, including the insurance contract and terms and conditions, date it was added and deleted. 5. Details of any collection charges added to the account; specifically, the date they were levied, the amount of the charge, a detailed financial breakdown of how the charges were calculated, and what the charges cover. 6. Specific details of the fees/charges levied by any other agency in respect of this account and a detailed breakdown of said fees/charges and what each charge relates to and on what date said fees/charges were levied. 7. A genuine copy of any notice of fair use of my data as required by the Data Protection Act 1998. 8.   15. i have gpot my so called SAR from Swift,,,,a page of "Summary of personal data as defined by data protection act 1998 held by swift advances plc"...a page of "legal charge (non FSA Mortgages)". a page of."fixed sum loan agreement"....."repayment record" and "list of transactions"........?? I thought I'd get more than that?

  19. I have emailed Swift asking about the SAR request that they have cashed cheque for but not recieved an acknowledgement of it, they sent this email back......I havent recieved a thing!   20. sent an email to OFT, here's there reply: Consumer Credit Act 1974 (the Act) Complaint Against: Swift Advances Plc Licence No: 391618 I refer to your email on 1 August 2012 sent to Sam Bragg concerning your complaint about Swift Advances Plc (Swift Advances). Your complaint concerns an agreement you entered into for a second charge loan with Swift Advances. As you may be aware, the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) has responsibility for the enforcement of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 (the Act) which regulates secured lending including second charge mortgages. Under the Act, in order to engage in certain consumer credit activities, including lending, businesses must hold a consumer credit licence; this is issued by the OFT. Swift Advances is licensed under the Act. In order to hold a credit licence, a business must satisfy the OFT that it is fit and competent to do so. This includes ensuring compliance with all relevant consumer protection legislation. You have complained that they have sent court papers for repossession of your house and that got into arrears on a second loan you took with them because they did not ask you proof of income when you took the loan and it is impossible for you to pay off the arrears with the amount of interest and charges they are adding on the loan.   21. Just rang the courts......Possession order granted but suspended for 28 days on provisal of current monthly installment plus £25 towards arrears of £1291.64, she sending me a copy out. My emails hadn't been put on file but she said she will put it back up to the judge. I don't quite understand, isnt that what I asked them for in the first place? Does that mean if after next months payment they can go back to court??
