  1. Hi Coffegirlnothing at all from MH yet - as far as I can make out after visiting this and other consumer forums they try to frighten you into paying what you cannot afford to pay. Stick to your guns, you know what your priorities are. YOU AND THE KIDS!!Will let you know if and when anything happens.Take care.
  2. Hi Coffee et alI am further down the road with the Mucky Hall/Quick Quid fiasco than you are. I am at the ''doorstep visit threat'' stage (the second time I have been threatened with this). In reply I have emailed them and told them that I am not negotiating any further, I sent them a breakdown of what I have borrowed and what I have repaid (in my case much more than the total debt plus one months interest) and told them to take me to court to get it sorted. I will let you know if this ''bluff'' works. I also included the usual recommended reply about the doorstep threat - anyone coming to my house will be reported to the police for harrassment etc (I am sure Sillygirl or another mod will point you in the right direction for the exact wording once you get to this point). If it is any help whatsoever, I was worried sick January this year but as time has moved on and absolutely nothing has happened I often forget I have this 'problem'! Don't worry please - concentrate on your kiddies and your well-being; they are most definitely not worth it.
  3. I can only comment on what happened to me and that is, I ignored the letters never replied (in fact I stopped opening them after the second letter) and I have not heard a dickie bird in well over four months now, so, personally speaking I would think you have nothing to worry about.
  4. HiFrom personal experience I wouldignore it, I neve replied to any of their letters and certainly never sent any money. They will eventually go away after a few more threatening letters. Don't worry! I know it's easier said than done.
  5. I took the card out over the internet. I presently owe £3000 or thereabouts, it keeps going up with every defualt notice they serve. The last letter they sent said that the account was now terminated, again I am not sure wjy as far as I am concerned I am still waiting for them to reply to my offer and I&E breakdown.
  6. Hello Caggers, I am in a situation in which I don't really know how to proceed and would really appreciate your insights. I have received several default notices from Tesco about my credit card whilst I am in the middle of trying to negotiate a reduced payment; they seem to be arriving every other day at the moment. Is this permissable whilst I am trying to come to an agreement with them? I am only dealing with them by letter and I keep getting phone calls in which they try to get me to reach agreement over the phone, so far I have resisted insisting I would like everything in writing.Consequently and rather worryingly, it has now gone very quiert for over three weeks whilst I await a reply to the breakdown of expenditure they demanded (they would not accept a list of my monthly outgpoings they had to have the outstanding balances as well)Has anyone out there been in a similar situation and can help? PLEASE??
  7. Please do not get upset about this. Something very similar happended to me and I ignored all the letters (I say all - they sent three) after reading this forum. They have not sent anything now since April (the incident happened in early January) please take things easy these letters should be binned and ignored they are horrible people trying to con you out of money they are not entitled to.
  8. Hi everyone, just a cry for help!! Quick Quid have told me I owe them £750 from my last loan, what I want to know is this - I have borrowed in total (loans rollovers etc) £1100 and actually only owe £231 from the repayments I have made - can i offer them lower than £750 - IE the £231 outstanding plus say a months interest or is this a definite no-no? I am introuble with my finances and these are the only PDL co that are not playing ball. Any assistance gratefully accepted. Thanks for reading
  9. Should I wait first and see what they agree to on Tuesday or go ahead anyway with the parachute account? Also, do you have any recommedations for a decent bank now that my credit rating has been rubbished? Thanks again
  10. Hi I am hoping someone can please help me. I have written three times to the RBS asking if I can reduce payments on my loan, the first time I wote they replied to a query I had raised on my current account several years ago and similarly the second letter did not address any issues I had covered in my letter. Undaunted by this I proceeded with a breakdown of all my debts and an offer of a pro-rata payment. NOTHING until yesterday when they wrote telling me that I had defualted on my loan and they wanted me to return all chequebooks and cards. I have tried ringing this morning and was told that all of their systems are down not to return. the cheque book or card yet and to ring again on Tuesday. I am seriously worried. I do not want to lose my account with them. Also because I hadn't heard of my repayment offer was acceptable (Having missed two months payments I paid in the amount I offered this month rather than get into further problems), has anyonee else had this problem or can assits me in any way? Thanks for taking time out to read this, much appreciated
