  1. This is not a helpful reply but I just wanted to mention my similar experience. I ended my contract with VM and they arranged for collection of their equipment. They failed to keep to their arrangement and cancelled the following collection without informing me. After writing a 14 page complaints letter I was informed that the TV set-top box was too old and they didn't want it and the cable modem they never collected. I made sure they put in writing the fact they didn't want them back.
  2. BAA have stated that they will not be charging for days that cars have been parked over their intended return times.
  3. I pay for my TV License by monthly DD so can't see why you couldn't also. TV Licensing > Payment Methods > Direct Debit
  4. I ask because I was curious if you used the feature as I do not. As you say the peripherals are a keyboard and mouse, as I only use a laptop this would require purchasing them. You did after all as for people's opinions.
  5. Can I ask a really simple question, did you use the 'Other OS' feature? I've owned my PS3 for years and never bothered with the feature due to the cost of buying all the additional perriferals. It's a shame they felt the need to remove the feature but it is their perogative.
  6. PPE is Personal Protective Equipment. Usually Hi-Vis vest, boots, hard hat, goggles, gloves, mask etc but can be anything required to do your job safely.
  7. As the rules stand today computer equipment is exempt from being classed as a TV unless expressly modified or sold as such (Reg 11). So I can't see how owning such equipment is enough to secure a conviction.
  8. You may wish to have a read of the DirectGov website about Tenancy Deposit Protection it does state at the start of a new tenancy agreement that; Within 14 days, the landlord or agent is required to give you details about how your deposit is protected including: the contact details of the tenancy deposit scheme the contact details of the landlord or agent how to apply for the release of the deposit information explaining the purpose of the deposit what to do if there is a dispute about the deposit If you don’t get this information, ask your landlord or agent the simple question – ‘how is my deposit protected?’
  9. @speedfreek, Regulation 9 of The Communications (Television Licensing) Regulations 2004 state: Meaning of "television receiver" 9. - (1) In Part 4 of the Act (licensing of TV reception), "television receiver" means any apparatus installed or used for the purpose of receiving (whether by means of wireless telegraphy or otherwise) any television programme service, whether or not it is installed or used for any other purpose. (2) In this regulation, any reference to receiving a television programme service includes a reference to receiving by any means any programme included in that service, where that programme is received at the same time (or virtually the same time) as it is received by members of the public by virtue of its being broadcast or distributed as part of that service. If you are watching a 'live' stream of a TV channel you are likely to need a licence. If it is simply a catch-up service you are not required to have a licence.
  10. Apologies for not answering your question about TRF but wanted to just point out that you are only required to provide your address when buying a TV due to licensing. Buying any other product from a retailer and you can politly tell them that you do not wish to provide your address. They will only use it to send you extended warrenty mailings. They will usually type in their own/head office address for their records.
  11. Yes they are withholding large sums of money from you if your account is now in credit to the tune of £230. Make sure the return that to your bank account as it is your money. Also means they wont be earning interest off your money.
  12. As a tenant myself I know that it is the Landlords responsibility/cost to have your boiler serviced every 12 months and provide your the tenant with a copy of the safety certificate. Landlord and tenant obligations : Directgov - Home and community It it also the landlords responsibility to ensure the safety of the devices, unless you have willfully vandalised (which I doubt) the boiler, the cost of repair is down to the landlord. All this is of course unless your contract states otherwise.
