  1. Hi I recently got a new job having lost mine during corona virus. I have been driving into a Bradford which I've never done and can honestly says it's chaos. although I thought I was being really careful, but I've received a speeding ticket for doing 38mph but on the NIP it doesn't actually say what the speed limit on that rd is. Could I contest this?
  2. Hi Everyone My girlfriend leased a car on the advice of a previous boyfriend, not really knowing what she was getting into. Unfortunately she now realizes what a mistake it was and that she really cannot afford it working as a healthcare assistant and on a low income. she is really struggling/stressed and i just wondered if anyone has any advice as to how she can end this agreement? without it costing her a fortune? Thanks Mark
  3. just to update I received 100% of my compensation today paid in full by the fscs. Probably better you don't give advice when you have clearly no idea
  4. Thank you for your advice, but having done my research, the FSCS was set up to protect people like me should a financial institution go bust. My claim was settled apart from actually receiving my money and in this case the FSCS will be paying my claim in full.
  5. Gale AG are the insurers according to my solicitor. I am assuming they're part of Ageas because they were the insurers on the companies insurance certificate
  6. Hi everyone I hope somebody here could just give me a little more information about my issue below? On the 8th of November my solicitor accepted on my behalf a compensation payout for an injury sustain in a previous job. I was told monies should be received by them within 14 days and then once the cheque had cleared the monies would be sent to me via bacs. They hadn't received the money within the 14 days (22nd Nov) when I enquire my solicitors secretary said it had been followed up and I would be notified once they received it. However today I received an email from my solicitor saying she had been actively chasing the monies and has been notified the insurers have gone into liquidation. However my compensation is covered by the financial services compensation scheme, and they they will be paying the monies. I just want to know if this is normal and if i will receive the full amount, also what sort of timescale I'm looking at? any help would be great thanks Mark
  7. yeah I'll send a letter, but I've spoken to acas twice and got conflicting advice both times. thanks for your help it's appreciated
  8. The dates aren't really relevant because I am not at work and have no intention of going back. so what do I do when they don't even reply to my request twice
  9. My relationship with my employer has completely broken down and after javi7a row with my manager in which she swore at me and vice versa, they tried to suspend me, but I got signed off sick and still am. I have absolutely no intention of returning to work there, being a time served Decorator I am going to go self employed. My problem is although I am currently off sick I have emailed work requesting some holidays as I was led to believe I can do this even if off sick. I sent the first email over a week ago without reply. I have sent another today asking if they can either confirm my holidays are booked, or if they are refusing them why. what do I do if they fail to reply again? and if they just don't give me them?
  10. just got home to find a cheque on the floor, fingers crossed it clears! Thanks to everyone who's give me advice I've definitely learnt a few things!
  11. Yeah I never thought of that, but it does sound to me like he's supposed to be sending it straight to me so fingers crossed
  12. Yeah you're right there although I have little intention of doing work for agencies in the future, just not worth the hassle. I'll see today when I get home if a cheque has arrived, I still doubt it though
  13. well I've just emailed the estate agents and made it clear if I have to go and see them personally it won't be a pleasant experience, they've replied and said they have spoken to the owner and there's a cheque in the post, we will see!
  14. Yeah there is that option, but there's a very good chance I'll blow my stack so want to avoid it if I can
  15. Yes I might just do that, I'll see what the agents say tomorrow and take it from there I'll let you know how I go on. Thanks to everyone for all the advice much appreciated Mark
  16. They owe me £695, but I thought just as you've said the contract is between myself and the agency and they should pay. I shouldn't have to chase the landlord for it.I won't be working for them again so I will give it until tomorrow and if nothings arrived I'll put some pressure on the agents.
  17. I've never worked for them before and really didn't want to. A friend who is a builder asked me if I would do it and told me to send a quote in. He has worked for them before and had no problems, I think he'd said he could do it and then realised it was too much for him
  18. Hi I finished the job 7 wks ago now,and I emailed the agency last week. They replied saying they had sent a reminder email to the owner and he had said it would be paid by weekend just gone, but I've received nothing as yet. I'm just not sure how to proceed, do I go down the route of agency should pay or try and get the name and address of the owner and chase him for it
