  1. OK, thanks all for your input, much apprciated. So you dont think there will be any prosecution? Thats the bit im most worried about.
  2. Thanks for your reply.. I know i need to do it, im just really frightened about prosecution etc.
  3. Im hoping someone can give me some advice on this please. Its really getting to me and Im at my wits end at the moment. Here goes. Up until 2011 I had a really good job, never claimed any benefits. Come November 2011 I was made redundant, but luckily got a new job two days later (on about half the pay). We lived on the wage from the new job and the redundancy for about a year (used it to repay debts etc). My new job was with an agency. During February 2013 the company who used the agency said they were not going to renew my contract, but offered me a permanent job starting 1st March 2013 (on slightly more money). The HB and CTB payments continued. Fast forward to April 2013. The company I worked for lost their bid to extend their contract with a national company they worked for. The work was awarded to another company. I was transfered to the new company via TUPE (Wages unchanged), Now this company is undergoing a restructuring plan, and I am uncertain whether there will be a position for me. Whilst looking at my finances this week I realised I had never told the council about the increase in wage back in April. It just didnt register with me at the time due to all the stuff that was happenig at work and the threat of being made redundant twice in the space of 4 months. Llke I said I just dont know what to do. I know I should contact the council and tell them but im so scared of what the result will be I just cant pluck up the courage to do it. Its really starting to affect me now, Im not eating, not sleeping and Im being physically sick at the thought of what might happen. Can anyone help please?

    pkease help!!

Hi Last November I was made*redundant icon*from my job (which was quite well paid) and whilst working there I received ctc but not wtc. i also got dla for my daughter. Luckily I managed to find another job 2 days after being made redundant. A week after starting my new job I phoned the tax credit helpline to notify them as my wages were now half what they were. Sure enough my ctc increased and was entitled to wtc. When my annual renewal form came i stupidly put my new wage down, and tbe payments continued This week i recieved a letter saying tbere was an income descepency and they had the correct figures for 2011/12 I phoned them to admit my mistake knowing there would be an*overpayment icon*to pay back Upon speaking to them they said my award for last year would be adjusted and this Yeats would be based on it, but would not take into account my new halved salary this year. This obviously is a major blow to us financially. As the tax credits would reduce by 80% is this correct? Should I be ringing them again to give an income prediction for this year?
  5. can anyone give any advice? I'm at my wits end and can't stop worrying.

  7. Thanks guys I have all the emails and proof of payment via standing order. What do I tell iqor? Just worried they might turn up at my door.
  8. I had a loan with wonga about 18 months ago and entered a repayment to pay them back over 12 months. Come the 11th month I got an email saying that my last payment was late (even tho it was 5 days before it was due )and so the arrangement was cancelled. Anyway I paid the amount regardless and heard nothing until just before Christmas from Gothia. I explained that I had paid all that was owing on the account and they should take it up with wonga. He relied that wonga had sold them the debt which stands at about £450. This amount must be the charges ect as the loan and onemonths interest has been paid I have now had a letter from IQOR threatening a doorstep visit? How do I proceed now? Haven't I now satisfied the loanor can IQOR come afterme for the charges and additional interest? Help please!!
  9. Bear in mind this "what a judge in a county court would most likely award" it's not law.
  10. I don't think it's about debt avoidance, it's making sure that lenders play by the rules when people fall into difficulty. Maybe current people won't get their money back but complaining to the relevant bodies and banks might stop it from happening to somebody else.
  11. By my reckoning the loan you still owe £600. Every time you roll over its effectively a new loan. If they have taken £400 already then the amount outstanding on the loan in month 5 is £600.
  12. The onr thing I would like to know is...... Why have they only targeted LLoyds TSB customers?
  13. Thats what Lloyds offered me.... I refused and told them on the phone I would rather have a backup account else where (which I already had).
  14. Ive also sent my complaint to their new hotline email address. I had the same response from LTSB, so I have put a complaint in the post basically accusing them of not supporting the relevant OFT guidelines.
  15. Do you think this is us or just other current customers. I did fire off an email complaint yesterday mentioning the amended OFT guidelines regarding continuous payment authorities so maybe that's set some alarm bells ringing?
  16. Let us know how you get on. I have phoned LTSB 3 times and got to the same conclusion. I have even threatened to abandon my current account and told them I had no confidence that my money was safe with them this apparently has been escalated buit im not holding my breath.
  17. Its interesting that all the people involved in this thread and the other LS thread bank with Lloyds TSB. I wonder if anyone using other baniks has had their cancelled cards tried but the transaction rejected. One other thing which is I really so not understand. lets look at a typical timeline..... 1. Debtor decides he has been ripped off enough by LS and cancels debit card 2. LS inform debtor that the payment from the card failed 3. Debtor tries to contact LS with little or no success 4. months later a randon payment is taken from the debtors account USING THE OLD CANCELLED CARD How the hell can a transaction be rejected when the card was origionally cancelled, but allowed to go through months later? I wonder if Lloyds TSBs systems release the lock after so many months of inactivity? Do we have any LTSB reps on here that may be able to shed some light?
