  1. I wish the mods would realise there's nothing libelous about using the 'T' or the 'S' word in posts relating to Log Book Loans and their agents. They DO and they ARE and they wouldn't be paying thousands of pounds out in compensation to prevent cases from going to court if they weren't! And there's about as much chance of them taking you or anyone else to task legally than there is them flying to the moon
  2. I will do just in case.... I know how devious these boneheads can be and how useless the police are. I've asked tomtubby to check if this bailiff is actually registered
  3. I think the bailiff today was merely disappointed he wasn't getting his slice of the cake... he didn't like being faced with facts and in the end decided 'this conversation's going nowhere' At 2 o'clock he had a 'walking possession' by 4.45 it was a 'levy' I asked for a breakdown of these charged he simply said if I don't pay him 'today' they'll be round to exercise their levy. Unfortunately for him I know these people are trained bullsh---ers and will say anything to get "their" cash If anyone does turn up, police will be called pronto to stop a breach of the peace... I'm not expecting it though
  4. I was able to pay the council the full amount I owed them today, which I did direct on their automated line The bailiff has rang me several times today informing me I have to pay them the additional charges 'or they'll be round tomorrow'. I quoted the paragraph on charges from the 'advicenow' guide which he claims isn't so! He admitted the call charges were correct, but said the other charges were 'levy' charges placed on the vehicles in my drive. On the first call he called this their 'walking agreement' fee, then on the second call he denied this and said it was a 'levy' and said he'd be back and I would be charged another £100 if I didn't pay him the charges (nigh on £200) Now, on these visits and levy's, I have had only one note shoved through my door and no notice of any levy. He admitted I no longer owe anything for council tax but claims they have powers to charge 'what they like' My own feeling is this is all bull**** - they won't be doing anything cos they can't now as he actual debt has been satisfied, and to add insult to injury the fees they want paying for they won't account for on paper! What do u all reckon?
  5. I had a knock at my door at the beginning of January - the council had kindly passed on the outstanding amount owing for THIS year (2007/2008 ) to Philips. I got a note thru (without any ref.no) and it had gone from just short of £500 to just short of £700. Rang the bailiff, who reckons he won't take anything less than the full amount - not even 2 payments of £350! I have to pay in full and it has to be tomorrow. Rang their office who were equally unhelpful, I must pay their bailiff who 'takes cards with a 5% surcharge' I've signed nothing and they haven't met me let alone entered my house tthough I do have cars in my drive What do you all reckon? I've just tried the council automated payment line and everything still works so should I just pay them a bit and tell the bailiffs to sod off? It seems a little unreasonable to knock back a potential payment of £350.... vbrep_register("1355270")

  7. Mate, search this forum and read everything you can find about LBL PM me and I can advise....
  8. LOL! Gemini wouldn't help their own mothers cross the road, never mind help poor LBL victims!
  9. Indeed they do, but if you're home and dry that matters not a jot. PM me this story if you want to mate
  10. The only action LBL will take will be underhand - they WON'T use the courts that is for sure. PM me please
  11. In actual fact there's a 99% chance these 'bills of sale' are, in fact, not legal. The only 'barrel' LBL have people over is the barrel of finding a decent solicitor, something LBL can't actually manage to do themselves as no decent firm will represent these unethical clowns. If you are in the position of needing such a professional to assist may I suggest you simply ask/pm, as help (and, mods, as a normal 'punter' I mean HELP not advertise or tout for business) can be found, the unfortunate fact is whilst most 'high street' solicitors may well be capable of taking these people on, they are unlikely a) to have the know-how and expertise to do it properly, and b) cannot offer the possibility of legal aid. Of course, LBL are only too aware of this when operating their day-to-day business & gleefully exposing the gaping wound that exists between criminal & civil law. And I speak as someone who has been there, done that & got the t-shirt.....
  12. Another wee nail..... Logbook Sharks Seize Carol's Car - The Sunday Mail
  13. The Logbook Loans Scandal - Consumer Problems - Law & Consumer Advice - Lifestyle - The Sunday Mail
  14. Well, I can vouch for the fact they don't return cars they take even if you obtain a pukka court injunction ordering them too. They are above the law, you know....
  15. I'm glad you have come to an agreement, but I will warn you to watch your back, they aren't very 'by-the-book' as the various horror stories here attest. Any more trouble, PM me & I will put you in touch with people who can advise & help
  16. Put it somewhere it won't be found. If it's a bag of **** and they take it nothing will happen anyway, it's just a [problem] to get cars and they don't bother with any legalities they just want the cars to sell on, hence they quickly start demanding ridiculous amounts in full or the cars. THEY DON'T WANT THE LOANS PAYING THEY WANT THE CARS IT'S A [problem]. Don't for one minute think that these people obey the laws they do not and the repo companies they use are a law unto themselves
  17. How many injunctions did they ignore to get to this stage if u don't mind me asking...
  18. If the law won't help us perhaps it's time to act outside of the law? I'm DEADly serious
  19. Log Book Loans and their associated repo companies/thieves are all criminals and this is why most of the discussions should be away from a public forum that is known to be monitored by LBL. They do not act within the law or stick to any legal agreements they are simply there to rob the poor who cannot afford legal representation and for whom any involvement with the police is muddied by the criminal/civil blur. Be warned cos these people are utter ****s, keep the details of your case for pm's, Trading Standards, OFT etc. Best advice I can give is any approach made to you by LBL or their associates contact CAB, OFT, police & solicitors immediately!
