  2. They do get back to you within 8 weeks and the ombuds says this is ok i contacted them and they sent a letter to the bank to say that if i didn't get a satisf response they would investigate the bank were in touch by another letter by week 4 and offer made by week 6 just waiting on money to be credited to my a/c didn't need the hassle of court action and i think that it has been resolved without bad feeling still have a/c
  3. Hi all, has any one had to wait the full 14 working days for their refund into their a/c they received my signed acceptance on the 1st and i'm still waiting i am reading that others are getting theirs back within days i have been phoning but to no avail maybe i'm just not lucky enough they maybe realise i have no patience!!
  4. Same boat acceptance was received back 1st March (thurs) have been told up to 14 WORKING DAYS!!!! so that would be 18 days phoned again today nothing yet will phone guy who sent acceptance form 2moro if not in by lunchtime 2moro i think a week is long enough to hit the magic button.!!
  5. I requested mine from the BOS and they returned my £10 cheque (no it didn't bounce) how come some branches are charging and others not is it for the xmas party fund!!
  6. yes i got that normally too does this mean another time delaying tactic and are we supposed to accept this i think not i am going to give them until wednesday (8 weeks from start) or they can stick their gesture of goodwill and i'm going for the full amount!!!
  7. Mine was a mutual settlement less than amount requested not through courts but i had been in touch with the ombudsman
  8. Me too, 14 days from acceptance of letter they say seem to take their time about it it probably just needs for one person to push a button my acceptance was received by them thurs 1st march
  9. Hi there i sent my letter to my branch requesting statements got them within 14 days and my £10 cheque was returned. no charge
  10. Well i have had the phone call and have taken a settlement. I started my claim on the 10th jan with charges of £5,000 asked for 6 years but only really 5 in scotland. Got the standard letter it will take 8 weeks to look int your claim blah blah. So i kept phoning just little courtesy calls to see if there was any progress i contacted the ombudsman got a nice woman who sent a letter to the bank to say if i didn,t get a satisfactory response then they would take over my case and i got a nice letter from the bank apoligising and i would get a result no later than the 7th march. Well last night phone rings Halifax offered me £1,500 i said thanks but no said we would not take anything less than £4,000 got a phonecall 9.30 this morning offering £4,000 which will be in my account within 2 weeks. case closed very happy as we need the cash now i reckon the ombuds has a lot of welly where the banks are concerned and you don,t need to go to court which in my case living in scotland wouldn,t be that easy so thanks CAG donation will be on way.
  11. Hi Diane11, My letter from the bank stated that it would be resolved by the 7th March this is my second letter (this was after Ombuds contacted bank on my behalf to say that they were waiting on my shout to get involved) I have been phoning every couple of days but think i will give them "courtesy calls" daily now to see if it hacks them off as much as us Martin Lewis was on telly and says everyone will get their money but advises over 5K to get a solicitor and not a no win no fee one!! Why should they get our money 25% of 5K is a lot of lolly After i phoned on Fri they took my telephone no. "as they are getting 100's of claims they are working till 8pm and weekends too contacting people by calls to" bless'em !!
  12. HI there, i,m in a similar situation bos have until 7th march to get back to me i contacted the F O first who sent them a letter to say that i had contacted them and should i not get a satisfactory response they will then look into my complaint surely they don't want to get on the wrong side of the ombuds i keep phoning to check up on them every couple of days got a rottweiler on thurs who gave me aggro and a lecture nice man who said it woz my fault blah blah they took half my husbands wages on bank charges this month so if this is their new stall i'll be joining you in an OA.
  13. Thanx for advice i rang the financial ombuds very helpful she said bank has 8 weeks to reply which is wed next week rang bank they will defo be in touch by wed by letter phone or both. Financial ombuds said she would also send a letter to bank to say that i have contacted them and they will be looking into it if i don,t get my satisfactory response from them then they are getting involved (also sending me out a complaints form) How much clout do they have?

  16. In 2nd stage with BOS asked for statements received 10 envelopes on 15th Dec postie was none to pleased sent 1st letter from MLewis website on 10th Jan received a letter 5 days later stating that BOS would be in touch and were looking into along with a leaflet on complaints procedures. Waited 15 days extra day goodwill then phoned branch she couldn,t help had to contact superiors, she phoned back and told me about their 8 week policy be in touch by 8th Feb blah blah. So i phoned head office nice girl tried to put me through to the complaints dept what a surprise no one home assured me someone would contact me by next day bank policy no one called sent LBA end of that day 2 days into 7 days claim for over 5k in scotland what should i do now? a: Go through a solicitor for a OA b: split the claims ie 3 summarys and a small claims c: hide and wish it would all go away help
