2. Not sure if this works. It's actually from June 2004, and AFAIK it was repaid early, but can't remember how early. I think we paid around £1700 to clear it. Really can't remember though
3. Forgive my ignorance but how do I post a scanned image?? It says my image is too big when I tried uploading it. Tried hosting it on Picassa but it won't show.
4. Hi, about 10 years ago the Mrs took out a Barclaycard Masterloan for £2000. We checked the old paperwork the other week, and noticed that they charged about £400 for PPI, then added interest to this £400 before the loan started. Back then she had a job where she got 12 months full pay for being on the sick, and her job was very secure, so there's no way she'd have asked for this PPI. So what reason should she put on her claim for for believing she was miss sold PPI?? Is this classed as front loading?? Keep hearing it mentioned, but no idea what it actually is.. Thanks
5. No! Phoenix Recoveries entered a default against me a couple of years ago. When Bryan Carter botched his County Court claim against me for this debt, the advice I got then was Phoenix Recoveries shouldn't be placing defaults against people for unenforceable debts.
6. Is there anything I can do about the outstanding default on my credit record for this debt placed there by Phoenix Recoveries??
7. Hi all, I've not heard anything more about this debt, until today when Buchanan, Clark & Wells rang my house asking to set up a repayment plan. The other half told them I was at work. What should I do about this?
8. No idea how old the account is. Last payment would have been about 3 or 4 years ago.
9. Hi all. A while ago I posted on here about Bryan Carter trying to take me to court for a debt with Littlewoods. With help from this site, he pulled out, but then MacKenzie Hall started chasing me for it. I sent a letter posted in this thread http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/debt-collection-industry/187687-phoenix-recoveries-time-via.html and heard nothing more until yesterday, when Scotcall sent me a letter demanding payment in full or they'd send a doorstep representative to see me  What should I do about this?? And is there any chance of getting this default removed from my credit file? As IIRC, I never received anything back from my CCA request all that time ago.
10. We don't receive any benefits at all. Not even child tax credits.
11. Not sure if this is the right forum but here goes. My partner has a son from a previous relationship. He lives with us and for the past 10 years his Dad has paid £50 a month in maintenance via the CSA. Now following a recent review, the CSA have told my partner that his Dad will not cooperate with them and has to now pay around £600 a month. She's had a couple of letters telling her when the increased payments will start, but today she got a letter which is asking her for info about me! They want my name, address (), DOB and NINO. I'm just wondering why they need info about me?? Anyone know why?? We've been together 12 years and they've never asked before. They also want details about our mortgage!! And not just if we have one, it wants to know who it's with, the original loan amount, interest rate, current balance, type of mortgage, capital payed each month and interest paid each month. How is this relevant to what his Dad pays for his son???? They also request to know how much Council Tax we're paying. Again.....why? Another of the questions they ask is. If she has a child to me, then they want the childs details and 5 pay slips from me. WHY??? We've nothing to hide and I'm currently half way through filling in the details they request, but I'm just wondering why they want to know so much, especially about our mortgage?
12. Hi, I've received a county court claim this morning from Northumbrian Water for £615 plus costs which takes it to £740, issued from Northampton County Court. What's the best way to go about dealing with this claim?
13. Hi all, I received a signed credit agreement from Aktiv Kapital this morning with a letter stating that as it's in my address, and signed by me, I therefore agreed to adhere to the terms of said agreement. What do I do now?? I'll post a scan of it once my brother copies and emails it to me!
14. Hi, since Avtiv Kapital received my letter a few days ago I've started receiving silent calls on the home phone. The number, according to Who Calls Me, is confirmed as being that of Activ Kapital. Still no reply via letter to my CCA request.
15. What's the chances of getting the default removed though? Slim I'd imagine? I'll pop that letter off to Mackenzie Hall in the morning anyway! Cheers!!
16. The debt was originally a Littlewoods account. But Carter took me to court on behalf of Phoenix, and it's Phoenix who registered the default against me.
17. Can I still send that letter even though Carter pulled out of going to court before the case was up pt??? And is there anything that can be done about the default phoenix registered against me three years ago in relation to this debt?
18. Hi, I posted almost a year ago with regards to Bryan Carter lodging a county court claim against me with regards to a Littlewoods debt I had for which Phoenix Recoveries were chasing me. To cut a long story short, Carter gave up, after intervention from this site. Received a court claim from Bryan Carter Solicitors **WON THEY GAVE UP** - The Consumer Forums Since Carter gave up I've heard nothing more of this debt, until today that is, when I received a letter from Mackenzie Hall offering me the chance to clear the debt within 7 days at a reduced rate of £430 or so (£660 owed). Now I'm not in a position to pay £430 within 7 days, but the letter does state that they will accept £25 a month until the whole debt is cleared. Can someone advise me on how to deal with these people please?? Many thanks!!
19. I had a car a few years ago through this bunch, which was a shed on wheels for want of a better word. Once I got more than halfway through the term I decided to hand it back and what a nightmare I had. They just didn't want to know, and kept on trying to charge me for not paying the monthly instalments, despite sending numerous recorded letters to head office. In the end they claimed they'd need £1000, before they could take the vehicle back, the original price was £4000, and I'd made 22 of 36 payments. Luckily for me my friend is a solicitor and he got onto them and took me down to see them and the vehicle was gone within days. Horrible horrible people to deal with, they once rang the house while we were on holiday and my parents were there checking the house over and what not and my Dad answered the phone and the bloke at Welcome told my Dad I owed them money and asked if he could go in and make the payment . I wish you luck.
20. Well done. Carter tried splitting a claim on me almost a year ago now, funnily enough that too was on behalf of Phoenix Recoveries. Oh, and that too, thanks to this great site, fell by the wayside once Carter received my defence. Makes me really angry to think that this [EDIT] man keeps getting away with pulling stunts like this. [EDIT]
21. Hi, I took a 3 months for £6.99 offer by direct debit with Setanta, upon completion of the 3 months I cancelled the DD thinking that was it. They rang me up stating they had not taken the final £6.99 and asked me to pay by credit card which I declined to do (didn't want to use my card with them). Anyway, to cut a long story short, they said I could rejoin for £9.99 a month for 12 months, and would waive the £6.99 I owed them. So I said yes. I set up a DD again but then had three calls in two days in the following week demanding the £6.99 they agreed to waiver. Upon thinking this was all very amatuerish and regretting getting involved with their crap service again I cancelled the DD. Now I've had a letter stating they're about to contact a DCA to recover the money due under the terms of the contract. Is there any way I can get out of this contract now though? I entered into it about a month ago, over the phone.
22. Roger dodger on that one then!! I guess it's to stop them forging signatures is it?
23. Just about to print the letter, and I know the bottom of the template you posted states "Print do not sign signature" but will I be alright using a digital signature I have???
24. Thanks!! Will pop that in the post on Monday.
