  1. Some debts go back around 15 years, no recent ones, certainly not in the last 9 years. Most of them are like Egg, Barclays, LLoyds etc. Around 14k still owing. I pay Payplan and they distribute, around 3 have been sold on.
  2. Thanks dx100uk Just looked at the letter again this morning, and they mention Equity Release, with Age Partnership. There is no way I would get involved with all of that. So not only are they trying to flog insurance they are also now trying to get commission on getting people to sign their homes away.
  3. Sorry, how do I check that the debts are enforcable? Thanks. and no, I'm pretty sure that they are not asking, its been too long and I do not have any letters from them.
  4. Hi, I've been with Payplan for a number of years now, and suddently I get a letter telling me my yearly review is close, and they have asked me to provide payslips and bank statements, and have given me an envelope to use. Usually I update them with a list of income and outgoings. Why are they suddenly asking me for this? Are they trying to flog insurance? I pay around £150 a month and never missed a payment.
  5. Did you count 28 business days or do you include the bank holidays and weekends?
  6. Hi, I have seen lots of cases like this. I would be very tempted after all letters etc have failed to convince them, is to let them take me to Court and then tell the magistrates/Judge it has nothing to do with me and reapeated attempts to tell them this has failed. I would let them hang themselves.
  7. Hi, I have just sent my initial letter off with spreadsheet - and was looking around this site to see if it was 14 business days, and not to include weekends. Found the info I needed but wonderd would it be possible to add this to the relevant part in the FAQs and wherever else it appears. So every time the 14 days are mentioned it includes the words 'business days' ? Many thanks.T
  8. Hi At long last ready to post the letter, but I have seen three different addresses on this site - who should I send the first letter to? ie the one where you attach your breakdown of illegal charges? Thanks. T
  9. Hi, Tried to find this out from these threads but cant see the answer to my question. As I will hopefully be able to get back 6 years of bank statements from naughty lloyds and have used the calculator to add up the total charges, the 8% interest column adds up to a lot of money. Do most banks pull out before the court stage so they dont have to pay the 8% interest? I just wondered why this was held back until this stage? Thanks, T:eek: abac
  10. Hi, I would never let any bank have my phone number, as soon as they get their hands on it - I change it. Then they can't pester you and you have to get everything in writing. I never ever give my number to anyone, they only sell it on, even our local dry cleaners sell on customers phone numbers now. Good luck,
  11. Hi, New to these threads, I've just rec'd a letter form NW, and it has charged me £21 cheque misuse fee, and unpaid standing order fee £30. and lots of them! All of these add up to over a £100 for the month. I've searched these threads and cannot see anywhere what is thought reasonable for these charges? What are they allowed to charge? Also they have blocked my card to a limit of £50 even tho it says on the back £100 - and they did not inform me of this. I was thinking of just ringing them first to ask (nicely) for my money back, but wondered if anyone had the correct dept and number to speak to? Also I have so little time (and brains) to spare that I'm thinking of getting a company in to get back my money from LLoyds, has anyone used one, can you recommend one? Thanks, Tabac
