  1. Great info! Can I just ask, my MCOL was filed on the 20th (deemed to be served on the 25th) but they acknowledge on the 23rd, so would I count the 28 days from the 25th still or the 23rd as thats when they acknowledged? I know its a long way off but I wanna be ready!!
  2. Good luck Bex!! Ive done abit of 'research' and the usual time seems to be between 2 and 5 weeks (from MCOL) though its probably different being near xmas and more people seem to be aware that they can claim now so it could be getting very busy! So really the answer is 'how longs a piece of string?' I have heard that faxing over a breakdown of charges to DG solicitors once the claim has been acknowledged can speed things up which I did a week ago and I havnt heard a thing!! Anyway, good luck!!
  3. LOL No post for me either... has anyone thought about phoning to ask if they've recieved the breakdown of charges (and get some extra info while ur there!)... I have but Im too scared!! lol
  4. LOL That made me laugh but on a serious note... I feel the same. Come on Mr Posty.......
  5. Good luck! Am just trying to find claims that are at the same stage as mine and repying to them so I get a notification as I havnt sussed out another way to do it yet! My MCOL was also acknowledged on the 23rd so will keep up with your thread!!
  6. Ha ha ha! That made me chuckle!! the moral here is try not to be poor Great moral David!! Congrats on that one!!
  7. Just realised I keep calling you Dave and yor name says David! Sorry! :o I hate getting names wrong!!
  8. I really hope so too dave, what a great xmas you'll have!! Im amazed that you've had 2 offers already! I claimed 2 days after you on MCOL and have not heard a single thing! Apart from the usual letter saying they intend to defend! Its a joke!! I just want to know whats going on!
  9. lol Being poor is no fun, Ive had enough experience to be sure of that... I REALLY REALLY want my money before xmas and I cant see it happening
  10. Good luck dave!! Ill be following your thread, looks like your VERY close to the end! I hope so!
  11. The waiting is just too much! Im really tempted to ring Dg and make sure they've recieved the list of charges and see if I can get some info out of them! I just cant bare waiting! Im starting to wonder if it actually makes it any quicker to fax or send the breakdown of charges before being asked. In the cases Ive looked at so far the letter requesting beakdown of charges usually comes around 2 weks after MCOL is filed Well mine will be 2 weeks Monday and not a peep from anyone!! Or maybe its 2 weeks after acknowledgement which would be a week today.... who knows! The only thing I know is the wait is killing me! Thank goodness for work and the kids keeping me busy!!
  12. Yes it helps, thanks. The majority of the fees were for going well over our agreed overdraft limit as I said before. For the past 2 years weve been incurring £125's worth of charges each month.... so does it work for the overdraft to? So they should only charge us what it costs them? Which is?!? We rarely get letters apart from the letter that comes with the statements stating the charges incurred that particular month?
  13. Good luck Steve, Im probably at around the same stage as you so want to follow your thread and the other steve's! I sent breakdown of charges via fax on Friday also!
  14. Hi Steve, I am at about the same stage at you, (MCOL filed 20th, ack. 2rd, breakdown of charges faxed on Friday 24th) I would love to follow your claim! Does anyone know how I can request emails to say when a new message has been added to this thread? Thanks!
  15. Yes it does thank you, I guess I just cant help thinking that we should have been and were punished for the way we handled our account! Thanks for the link also, ill check that out now!!
  16. Hi all, hope someone can answer this... as I proceed with this claim it seems more and more unbelievable that I'm going to get this money back. The reason being is that I believe its our own fault for getting these charges... can someone please help, heres the situation! Over the past 6 years we have struggled with money. We were teenage parents with a mortgage, both working in OK paid jobs but with the mortgage and bills money was still tight. Also to add to that got into trouble many times with credit cards but that was all sorted once and for all this January.... Anyway, we have a £500 agreed o/d limit most months we were between 700 and 900 o/d sometimes we'd get up to £1000, and the direct debits and cheques started to bounce, charges applied.... you all know how it goes!! So surely this is our own fault as we didn't manage our account well. Does this mean they were allowed to charges us these ridiculous fees? has anyone else experienced this and got their money back? The majority of the charges were for being over our agreed od limit.
  17. Amanda, I think the box they tick is the normal process, it doesnt actually mean they are defending, just intending too so dont panic just yet!! I just wrote a short letter to DG saying I thought these maybe helpful to continue with the case and that was it really! So how much are you claiming and when did you do your MCOL?
  18. They are actually defending or intending to defend? How long did this come after filing MCOL and have you had to send a breakdown of charges yet?
  19. Yeah sure, its 0121 455 2150. I guess you've had your claim acknowledged? When was that?
  20. That would be wishful thinking on my part!! I hope your right, I really really do!! Thanks Bong!!
  21. I wont ask lots of questions, promise! I just wanna join in!! And follow your progress!! Thanks xx
  22. Hello all! Just read through the whole of this thread!! Sounds like some of you are around the same stage as me so I was wondering if I could join in?! I filed my MCOL last monday (the 20th) It was acknowledged on the 23rd and I have had a letter from the courts with the box ticked saying they intend to defend etc! Today I have faxed over the breakdown of charges... without being asked to. I am just wondering how long it will be now.... it seems when they request the breakdown of charges the offer comes soon after that but if you send them without being asked do you think it works the same? By the way I am claiming for just under £5000!! Good luck all!! Ill be watching!!!
  23. Okay, just to quickly update, the breakdown of charges were faxed today at 4pm! The claim was filed on Monday the 20th acknowledged on the 23rd (last Thursday) any guesses how long it could be now? I am sooo impatient!!!
