  1. Stick to your timetable Dave, not their timetable. Wait fourteen days from the date on the preliminary letter then send your Letter Before Action (LBA) if you haven't received a satisfactory response.
  2. Hi Hannah, I sent my LBA today too - my preliminary letter was also addressed to Mr. Lewis and I didn't receive a response either. I like to think it's because he's received so many letters he can't get through them all. You're right about the court action - that's when the HSBC seem to pay attention, I'll be ready to file my MCOL at the end of the month.
  3. Using 'Total Charges' is fine - as long as they're dated so that the bank can reference them if required.
  4. Aloha. If you have all of your statements there's no need to send the Subject Access Request letter, just go straight to the preliminary letter and include a copy of your charges spreadsheet.
  5. Good luck with your claim. I sent my preliminary letter at the start of the month to Canada Square and no response as yet. LBA is already printed and ready
  6. There's a little link at the bottom - can't remember exactly what it says but it's something like, 'Previous' and 'Next'. You can use those links to scroll through the years.
  7. Get in there Logan! Just read through your thread and it looks like it was a bit of a rollercoaster but you got there in the end.
  8. Hi Skinch, We're looking at claiming roughly the same amount back on the same time schedule, I sent my preliminary letter yesterday too. Good luck, I'll keep you updated with anything I get back from the HSBC.
  9. Yep, I sent it to the same address - it's the HSBC head office in Canada Square. I also sent it recorded just to be sure it arrived safely - I thought that would be the prudent thing to do since it could be worth £1616!
  10. I hope it all goes well for you, I sent my preliminary letter to the bank yesterday and I'm now counting down the fourteen days until I sent the Letter Before Action. Good luck!
  11. Hi everyone, I've started my claim against HSBC today with a letter sent by recorded delivery to their HQ in Canary Wharf. If you're an HSBC customer with access to internet banking, the last six years of statements are available online - no need to send a the Data Protection letter and £10.00. I've made a simple spreadsheet to track every single charge levied against my account and I'll make copies of all correspondence sent and received during the course of my claim - everything will be posted in this thread as often as possible to keep you all updated as to the outcome. All help and feedback will be appreciated! Keep up the good work - this forum contains some fantastic advice and information.
