  1. Right I've now had my standard get lost letter from the infamous Mr Higley. This arrived 6 days after I sent the prelim letter. Do I have to wait til day 14 to send the LBA? Sorry I just want clarification - I've read the 1,2,3 approach but it isn't clear (to me) whether I must wait or can I go now???? Thanks Trudi:?:
  2. Morning! If you look in the box above there is a thread entitled NatWest Contacts - everyone who is anyone is listed there!!! You should send the DPA letter to Edinburgh and then Prelim letter to Bishopsgate (or your branch I think). Don't know about Credit Cards I am afraid. Hope that helps a bit tho' and GOOD LUCK! T:)
  3. Done my adding up and they owe me £1405 and I won't even let them off the £5. Prelim letter sent.:o
  4. Go get 'em Bandit - you know where I am if you need any moral support x:|
  5. My Statements Have Arrived - Only 58 Days After I Sent The Sar Letter - I Didn't Think They Would Ever Get Here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) :)
  6. Keep going Bandit - they have certainly met their match with you!
  7. Just telephoned Data Protection bods again who said they sent my statements upon receipt of my request - i.e. around 9 August!!!!! I haven't got them so who wknows where they sent them......anyhoo they are re-dordering so hopefully this time next week I can make a start. T:-|
  8. 40 days have come and gone- I am sending the letter in the template library giving them another 7 days by recorded delivery. If I still hear nothing what do I do next - do I estimate the charges and if so what happens if I over/under estimate and then Cobblers ask for a breakdown of charges???????? Knew mine wouldn't be straightforward. T:-|
  9. Well your not on your own here - the 40 day period is up for me on Saturday 16 and as yet not the slightest hint that there may be anything sent. They have not cashed cheque etc. Like you I have chased but still nothing. Apparently you can go to the next stage (and report them for non-compliance) and give an estimate of the charges taken. Don't know if that helps but I think it is what I am going to do. T:)
  10. I am impressed by your strength Bandit - keep going you know we are all behind you and that you will win!!!!! Tx
  11. Hello Thank you for your advice - all very gratefully received. I'm not desperate to keep the account open in fact the sooner it is closed and paid off the better - just didn't want to have to stump up the £500. Many thanks again. T:)
  12. Hi there If you have all of your statements you cano just go through them yourself-it will save waiting for the tatty brown envelope(s)! Just out of interest, when did you write to Alex Lyons? My 40 day deadline is up on Saturday and despite a follow up phone call and letter still no statements so I have really wasted 40 days. T:-|
  13. Much appreciated, thank you for that - hopefully I will get the hang of this!!! Thanks again - will let you know how I get on - hope all well with you T:)
  14. Thanks for your reply - no I'm a bit useless and I don't know how to PM a MOD. Any advice VERY gratefully received - they have given me 8 weeks (?!) to respond.... T;)
  15. OK so I got home from work and there was a letter from Monument offering £216 in full and final.....(they say half of the charges but I only claimed £364?!) and if I do not accept then the account will be closed and I will have to pay the balance off?? What shall I do???
  16. Oh yes Emma - their 40 days for me is up on Saturday - no sign of statements and I have telephoned and written them a reminder! Just out of interest what number did you call? Hope your statements turn up - I'm not holding my breath on mine arriving now but you never know. Perhaps the delay is caused by so many people now wanting back what GrabWest have had off them! You can apparently carry on regardless and estimate the charges incurred while reporting them for non-compliance..... looks like that's my route. T:(
  17. I hope they send your statements soon - Good luck and GO GET 'EM!! T
  18. Thanks for the reply. I think I will write to them and leave it until the 27 Sept to see what they say then. T:-)
  19. Thank you for that....I thought I should give them a few days grace (only to show how reasonable I am!!) and I will do as you suggest and write to them. I knew someone could help - this site it SO brilliant. Thanks again. T:)
  20. No, no interest at this stage - I think the 8% gets added at the Moneyclaim stage. Go for it! T:)
  21. Can anyone help ---- I had statements so wrote asking for £364 they had taken in charges. Unfortunately I wrote (because I was too hasty to get going) the LBA not the Preliminary letter that I thought I was writing. Monument have written back saying they are looking in to my "complaint" and will get back to me by 27 Sept. Now, in my letter to them I gave them 14 days to give me my money back or I would take further action. Should I wait until 27th or stick to the 14 days I gave them and start the next stage.......? T:confused:
  22. Had the very same letter myself this week! Best of luck!! T
  23. Thanks - I was begining to think it was only me who would be left waiting for statements!!!!! I have rung and will not hold my breath for the promised return call - I've got their number and I am not afraid to use it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! T in case anyone else wants the number 0131 626 1165 (it is in a stickie)
  24. Thanks Ned - just rung and spoke to Alex Lyons who is (apparently) going to get someone to check the situation and ring me back. We'll see!
  25. Thanks - I did give them every last bit of info so I think a phone call might be the way to go. As you say if they don't arrive I will report them but does that then mean I can go no further.... I'm sure you know what it's like - I'm straining at the leash to go and get 'em! I know they owe me BIG time! Thanks for the support and make sure you send everything with your SARs this time!!! T
