  1. This happened with my partners ex company when he left, they deducted the entire last months salary from him for training courses, they even deducted him money for learning his job when he started, i.e him sitting with another employee to learn the ropes! they were a shamble of a company. He had to write a letter outling his grievences, have a meeting with them and then went to a tribuneral, the company paid up just before the hearing. I would suggest you get on to ACAS they were fab great advise and assistance.
  2. Its funny that 15% of the £35.00 charge was for lost commission, how exactly does that work when recently I changed my address with budget and was charged the exact same £35 BUT my insurance premiums increased slightly. Surely then in my case I should have been charged £29.75 as they wont lose out on any commission for the change in premium
  3. Yes, thats what I have been waiting for, I have sent 2 letters now asking for them so I can cross reference the charges with the refund, but not surprisingly they have not been produced. I really need to know this as I need to reply to the courts if I am continuing with the claim.
  4. Hi, could anybody advise me on this please, we are claiming £4500 from Nationwide - including interest. Went to MCOL and they refunded about £3200 saying by their calcs that is all we are owed, etc etc, which I was expecting through other peoples responces. Received the docs from the court saying this is all we are owed going back to November 9th 2000 - have asked for their calculations which I am yet to receive. Now going through the statements they sent my amount is correct but have noticed the statements go back to March 2000 and I have added those to the amount I am claiming which is just over 6 years - I did not notice this as I presumed they had only sent me 6 years worth, and when I was adding them to the spreadsheet it did not compute!!! what are the implications of going slightly over the 6 years, I have been reading on this thread about going back years and the statute of limitations - would you suggest I go with this and carry on my claim for the sake of a few months and argue it out if necessary or should I accept what I have been offered and try again for the +6 years part? The date they have in the letter of 9th Nov is about a week before I issued through MCOL however the date I sent the prelim letter was 5th September, so surely I can get the charges back as from 5th Sept 2000 (exactly 6 years). Am getting a bit confused, am very sorry if this has been covered, thank you for any help
  5. Hi a bit of help if I may! We are claiming £4500 from Nationwide - including interest. Went to MCOL and they refunded about £3200 saying by their calcs that is al we are owed, blah blah, which I was expecting through other peoples responces. Received the docs from the court today saying this is all we are owed going back to November 9th 2000 - have asked for their calculations which I am yet to receive. Now going through the statements they sent my amount is correct but have noticed the statements go back to March 2000 and I have added those to the amount I am claiming which is over 6 years - I did not notice this as I presumed they had only sent me 6 years worth, and when I was adding them to the spreadsheet it did not compute!!! what are the implications of going slightly over the 6 years - could I argue for that? if not then their date of the 9th Nov is about a week before I issued through MCOL however the date I sent the prelim letter was 5th September, so surely I can get the charges back as from 5th Sept 2000 (exactly 6 years), which would make their calculations wrong? Also, have received the close of account letter this morning - can they close the accound and pull the overdraft back while we are in dispute - not worried, have the o/d covered and in the process of changing direct debits over to Halifax, just want to make it as difficult as possible for them !!! Any help would be fab, thanks
  6. Thanks Gizmo, will take a wonder over and have a look.
  7. Hi I have just read, but do not know if it is correct that claiming from a mortgage company the claim can go back 12 years insted of just the 6. Could anyone let me know if this is right :? . Cheers
  8. Well it seems Nationwide are following a new pattern, we have had just over 3000 paid into my partners account and have now received the letter saying that is all we are getting as there accounts are different to ours. I have double checked our figures, and so has my partner before we started so I am sure they are right, leaving just over 1000 outstanding. What happens now? we have had the court papers back to say they are defending the claim, and they have 28 days from being served to do this so do I wait for the defence and take it from there? Is it worth emailing and writing to Mr Bacon to try and get his figures, as from what I have read they do not seem to be very forthcoming with supplying them. Is that because they are bluffing do you think??? Any advise would be much appriciated. Thanks
  9. Hi I have had this issue with Tiscali, we were 5 months into the 12 month contract with them when we found out 'unlimited' was not actually unlimited due to the fair use policy. After about 2 or 3 weeks of calling and complaining and then cancelling the direct debit to them they have got the message and they finally have let us out of the contract. If you are that unhappy as we were its worth persevering to their cancellation line and in the end they will give up and give you a mac key to move.
  10. Finally got to filing through MCOL (due to house move, lots of stress and no internet Arghhhhh). Apparently it will be deemed served on the 14th, other half is a bit nervous now. On the plus side the 8% interest is a fair amount!
  11. Hi, I think this is pretty standard for Halifax, my partner opened an account with them for a parachute account and he had to deposit 100 pound on opening, he put it in on a Saturday morning and took it all back out on the Monday to put back in his Nationwide account.
  12. Just a quick update, received the standard fob off letter it seems most people have recieved so am about to start MCOL. Have it all filled in will double check it tomorrow, pay and off it goes. Am now gettine nervous!!!!
  13. Have heard nothing from Nationwide so LBA sent yesterday. Have just bought a house so could do with the money - HURRY UP NATIONWIDE!!!!
  14. Thanks Austen, am looking forward to it!!!. Was quite impressed with the statements, they arrived in a binder all in date order, so thanks Nationwide you saved me a job of sorting them all out hence got my claim into you that bit quicker
  15. Hi all, after my success in getting money back from HSBC, have now started with Nationwide for my partner. Prelim will be sent today for £3090.50. Would love this to be as quick as HSBC were - 16 days but have a feeling this ones going for the long haul, he has opened up a back up account with Halifax ready!!
  16. Come back from holiday and received a letter from HSBC offering me £955 in full and final settlement for my claim of £1062. I am accepting this but for the sake of a hundred quid, why not the full amount??? they have no logic!. Not bad though as its only taken about 16 days from sending my prelim, then LBA, and a couple of days later got the offer, speedy service!! A huge thanks to all on this forum for the help in getting this back, fab site and as soon as I actually see it in my account balance will be back with a donation. In the meantime am going over to Nationwide to start on my partners account, yay!
  17. Well its nearly been 14 days and have heard nothing, so am sending the LBA today. The 14 days are up on Monday, but as I am off on hols tomorrow am sending it early. Am going to the post office after 5 so it will go in tomorrows post and get to them Monday. Would be nice to come back from hols with an offer sitting here, but am not holding my breath!!!

    Help required

Hi Dazza, if you go to the library on the front page, all the letters you need are there, copy and paste them into word and away you go. Good luck
  19. Ahh thanks Michael - thats so good of you
  20. Yay, prelim letter sent today - they have 14 days. Small problem is I am going on holiday on the 19th and the 14 days are up on the 21st, so am going to be cheeky and sent the LBA letter to them on the 18th as I guess I will not hear from them before that. Would that be ok to do, as they should receive it a day or 2 before the 14 days are up?

    AdZ vs HSBC

Adz, download all your ones from the website, I sent my prelim letter out today as I could not be bothered to wait for them to post them to me. Good luck with the wifes claim. Will be claiming for my lazy other half, as they are far too busy on MSN!!! Ps say hi to the family !!!
  22. Tim come drive around Ashford, I can play spot the disgruntled HSBC 'customer' on my lunch break
  23. Ahh I get it - Thanks Michael.
  24. Oh and just one more thing, what are the total charges for? why on the statement does it say total charges, when it is a blatent lie as they are then charging me another £30 3 days later! but hey I guess that is the banks logic for you!!!!
  25. Fab thanks guys, the formula on the online spreadshhet seems not to be formatting the last coloumn which is the total interest, so I just wont bother!! just what I wanted to hear as I am far too lazy to go through all the small interest charges and work out what interest is for what transaction!
