  1. aarrrggggghhh I regret the day that I ever took out a credit card to find myself in a situation where I ended up paying BOS, I get a letter in the post saying pay £80 or else, so I call today (0845 number - which they say is local and cheap rate, I had a row on the phone with the poor idi0t who anwered my call), only to be told that my account was being passed to an external agent for collection and to stop that I need to settle the account. I responded by stating that the account is in dispute and therefore they cannot pursue an account that is in dispute and he was having none of it. I had to make the payment.
  2. BD thank you and thank you to all who post to reassure me and my hubby. xx
  3. http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?270660-1st-Credit-Connaught-and-now-Wescot-Abbey....help-please/page6 think I may have done it!! whoo hooo happy reading!
  4. well he has had the pink letter with a discounted offer on it, saying pay by 20th Or else, what we dont quite get is why the SAR was so bad, but as DX said they dont have to send it as long as they can prove it was issued thats the bit that gets us down. We are beginning to question if the best thing is to offer again a monthly sum and see where it goes? who knows.
  5. HI BD, I have sent the sar and barely got anything back worth reading not to mention no default notices or notices of assignment. just not sure what to do next, but dont want to crash this thread which is so very useful, my thread on this makes good bedtime reading! feel like our lives are wasting away cos of this!
  6. Hi CitB I n summary acct was with Abbey (now santander), was passed to 1st credit then to connaught, then to wescot, not to mention Howard Cohen now to CSL. have sent CCA but was sent recon T&C's, sent prove it letter to Wescot who put account on hold for a week then passed to someone else for chasing, had sar back which was poor to day in the least, now getting threatening letters from CSL which have us worried, debt is for approx £1900, CSL sent a part settlement offer offering £300 off if paid by todays date, which of course we have to pay (not). in a nutshell thats it. sad really arent we.
  7. sorry RV, I have not looked on your thread, but will read it, was this recently if you dont mind my asking, who was the OC and amount? did they chase you for long? cca n all that?
  8. thanks RV, the thing is ideally I would love to pay it off for hubby and get rid once and for all, just done have money like that sticking out my back pocket! not to mention that the OC wouldnt agree a repayment plan, and the other DCA's were holding is to ransom on agreeing a dmp (pay stupid deposit now and we will condsider a dmp) so just took the advice given and did nothing. the famous CSL pink letter appeared with 'final chance to pay a reduced amount' or court action, thing is what to do next...!
  9. Hi BD I have just read the thread you have sent me, and I think I am now scared out of my wits!
  10. reading this thread with interest, and wondering whether or not to be scared out of my wits by DCA's or excited to have found such an informative thread, I trying to help my hubby sort out a £1900 debt with Santander which is just a nightmare and come across this thread which has been sent to me by a fellow cagger! must go tip his scales!
  11. I had a read, not sure if enough uncovered though, or not enough to ease my troubled mind!
  12. I will keep a keen eye out, my hubby acct was taken out in 2008 so there is every chance they have the CCA, although they did send through recon T&C's and a signed application form (if my memory serves) - all the info is posted on the thread I have going at the min. fdao x
  13. I will look for a good template and modify and post up later today for clearance to go! my thoughts are - IF they had a valid CCA would they not have insitgasted proceedings as CSL seem to be bully thugs as this particular thread has shown?
  14. a recorded letter (if your funds allow) is generally the best method as you can track and prove delivery, but will check for you this evening and come back to you. What is your current position?
  15. I dont have an address but think there may h ave been one posted earlier on in this thread. i will have a look on my paperwork at home?
  16. cheers for that Dotty - I will prepare a letter and post up for the thumbs up! i will also post up the letter they sent me! cheeky so and so's!
  17. I am sure they would say that they have, more then likely a signed and enforceable CCA (which my hubby does not recall signing), just waiting for the day the papers land! as I have said before the SAR was shocking and there are no default letters or notices of assignment. need to win the lottery to pay it off, its not an large amount circa £1900.
  18. how do you mean, something more serious? I worry that they will turn up and try and clamp the hubby's car! fdao x
  19. You are totally right - perhaps a little letter is in order here.
  20. 2 payments left of £40 and they owe me approx £160 in PPI plus interest (not to mention the stat int) and as for staying the claim - they have!
