  1. I don't have statements, this was an online account and I can't access it anymore. There wasn't PPI but there were charges, although I don't know how much. Who do I request CCA from?
  2. Hi all. I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right place, so please move the thread if not okay. Around 2006 after losing my job, I had difficulty meeting the payments on my Egg card. I paid them monthly out of my savings but when they ran out I could no longer pay. After defaulting on the account it was passed to a debt collector who settled for payments of £5 a month. They used to hassle me and ring constantly and also tried to demand more money each month. These were taken over by Apex Credit Management who seemed to do everything by the book. They send me regular statements, check my financial position every six months and make sure I can afford the payments, which are now £30. This debt is no longer on my Credit file, so is not affecting my status. What I need to know is: if I stop paying this each month, what will happen? I have received some great advice on here regarding other debts, so don't really want to continue to pay Apex if there is something I have missed. What should I have done when the debt was passed over? Thank you
  3. I have managed to convert the docs, hope they are in the right order.
  4. This is the copy of the letter that the Halifax sent me regarding my account. Sorry if it's not in the right order, I had a job loading it.
  5. Thanks for your advice. I will do that straight away.
  6. I only rang them to ask why they couldn't find the debt with CRAs. I have been dealing with them by post up until now. I will post the letter they sent to me up on here, perhaps you can tell me if I should be doing anything further? Your advice is greatly appreciated and I know you will spot any 'flaws'.
  7. Hi all. I have finally received a reply from Barclay's regarding my debt with them. It would seem that someone dealt with removing the debt from my credit file before passing it on to complaints section. Therefore, when I received a reply, they said there was no information on my credit file so complaint had been dealt with? I spoke to the author of the letter as I wanted to clarify why they couldn't find any entry on my file. He told me that the entry must have been removed before the complaint reached him. He also said that Barclays won't be persuing the debt and if I cancelled my £1 a month payment, then nothing would happen. This is great news for me but I want to be sure that if I stop paying £1 can Barclay's put the debt back on my file? It has made a huge difference to my credit score already, so I would hate for it to go back on and undo everything you've helped me with.
  8. I reclaimed late payment fees and interest that was wrongly added to the account. I did ask for compound interest to be added but they refused. I will post the letter up on Monday, I'm not at home until then.
  9. They were sending me a credit card statement every few months. This had a "Pay full balance now" message after a couple of phone calls they told me to ignore them. I will write and lodge a complaint and ask for a regular statement. I now owe around £2500 (after they have removed the interest they owed me). They used to send me letters asking me to call them and would then go through a financial assessment with me. They said my payments should be £30 a month and I agreed. If it got to a stage that I couldn't afford it then I would tell them . I have asked for a settlement figure but they refused. I will be paying this off for 7 more years, so am keen to get rid of it as soon as possible. One good thing is it is no longer on my credit file.
  10. I received a signed copy of the agreement this morning. It was signed in 2005. Not sure what the next step is? The account is not cleared, it just means that I owe them less than I did when they entered into an arrangement with me. It also means I'm not paying money back that shouldn't have been on my account. I pay them £30 a month and this debt is not on my credit file. They haven't contacted me to review the payments in over a year.
  11. I have received a reply to my reclaim letter which was sent on 29th January. Halifax have agreed to refund all late payment charges (£72) and any interest (448.16) charged after the 6 month period had lapsed. Judging by the letter these have already been added back to my account. They have also offered me £100 for the upset and frustration this has caused. They have supplied me a copy of the Credit Agreement but it is not the original and therefore not signed. The letter states that they do not have to supply the original as long as they comply with section 28. What should I do now?
  12. I don't recall much about the correspondence from the Halifax. I used to speak to them when I was having difficulty paying. They passed me over to Blair Oliver Scott who then made an arrangement for me to pay a fixed amount each month. This has risen over the years but they haven't been in touch for about a year. I usually get a letter asking me to call and discuss my financial position. The monthly amount is then fixed for a period of 6 months.
  13. I sent this with the reclaim letter, so will wait and see what I get back.
  14. They haven't replied yet. I will post on here once they respond.
  15. I wrote two separate letters but put them in one envelope. She agreed that the debt shouldn't be on my credit file but still said she would have to escalate the complaint. Probably best to wait and see what they say when they write back.
